"I would like to spend the rest of my days in a place so silent, and working at a pace so slow, that I would be able to hear myself living" Elizabeth Gilbert
I really needed this.. Been having a rough time with my mental due to job hunting and getting distracted from social media..constantly comparing my life to others is not healthy. So I deleted tiktok and Instagram to keep me focused. Your content keeps me sane and motivated. Thank you so much, Sophie. ♡
Nowadays, most of us don't want to face reality, it's bored, but the magical is when you can do that without spending your all time on social media waiting for a like.
Thank you! After forty years chasing after what society wants for us, I went back to college and learned the topics that interested me. It meant saying 'no' to distractions more than anything else. I think you're absolutely right about unplugging from constant worry and materialism.
‘Pay better attention to the life that is happening right in front of me’. This is so perfectly said and so true. Life is what is happening right in front of us, when we lose sight of that we lose sight of life. While things like mobile phones can be a convenience, the can also distract us from life.
Your voice is more healing than any relaxing music I could find in the whole internet. I've watched one of your video over a month a go and now it has become a habit for me to watch your videos when i am stressed out. It really helps me than anything else... ❤ Sending you lots of love..
Letting go of mental clutter is so important but takes time. As for distractions, social media can be fun but also a distraction and one of the ways that I unwind is to simply read and write. Thanks for this lovely video.
Absolutely! I am in the process of decluttering. I can honestly say I have not missed anything that has gone out of the house. Thank you for sharing these beautiful thoughts in a beautiful way😊
All the happiness journey's include not having materialistic stuff and living life slowly enjoying all the things around us. All of this is what hinduism teaches us and can truly change your life 🥰
I've been everywhere, done everything. After retiring 15 years ago I had to let go of the recurring impulse to work. I had to learn not to eat/drink bad things and clear my body of inflammation. I've accomplished everything and let go of ambitions of my youth. In 1970 only %7 of people lived alone according to Census data. Now almost %30 do. No coincidence- this was engineered. You're so cute @3:59 with a book opened to 'banana'. I chuckle. I chuckle at everything now. I fear nothing- I chuckle at fear. chuckle, chuckle, it's no joke, chuckle.
Your videos are always worth to watch. You always bring a reminder to be calm and mindful of what we’re doing in our daily life. Can you please do a video of your new home tour? I’d love to see how you organise and decorate your space 🙏
This was such a good reminder to take a good look at how we spend our time so we don't just get swept along, wake up one day and realize we didn't do what we really wanted to do. Thank you for this 💚 I got a double reminder the other day after watching this when I opened Lightroom and it said "Remove Distractions" 😅
I’m glad I saw this as I am in the process of doing a huge decluttering . I have at times felt guilty for getting rid of certain things which I don’t want or even use !. I know this might sound odd, however your video has helped me a little with that now ❤
Thank you Sophie! I’ve heard your message of letting go before but it is such an important reminder in the present. Holding on to the past good or bad never brings peace in the present. Beautiful being you are💕
Hi Sophie, I loved your initial statement more or less, our hardship cones from having too much rather than not enough - how profound. Most of us, certainly me, am often thinking about what I can bring into my life rather than what I can discard, or how I can fulfill a real need rather than a false need. Recently I thought well, my car has almost 100k miles, maybe it's a good time to get something newer before it breaks down. But that was just me with a "case of the wants", rather than just being haply with my present car which, yes, doesn't offer all the things I'd like - I see people all over the place with new luxurious cars and wish I could have that - but I'm living withon a budget and I take good care of my car and it will probably last another 100k miles. It's good enough. I realized I need to focus on deeper and present needs. Though it's also important to think of the distant future and to invest pur money, mostly I think it's important to focus on now and our true deepest needs, big or small. And ask ourselves always, what makes us happy, what is meaningful to us. Thanks for reminding us and giving us an example. And welcome back to the Hawaiin Islands!
I loved everything she said in this video. Unrelated, I wondered what the ceremony was about with the lanterns that floated out on the water. It was beautiful!
How much I love your content and videos that I keep coming back to them when I need inspiration, motivation and a sense of relief!! Please keep helping us simplify the way you do
I think it is so important that you make your three things you want to get done list. It is good to have goals and to focus on them, and then you can get to the other things you should or need to. Very wonderful. Clutter truly is too distracting and not fun. Always a pleasure watching/listening!
You always provide me the video i need the most at that moment to focus on!!! You are my true mind reader! I guess that's why i always tell my parents that i have a bestie from far who always guides me the best and i can share anything with her without getting judged and She Is Sophie❤
An absolutely perfect video message for me today .🙏💖 your soothing voice and clarity of speech for this topic easily held distractions away .as this topic of distractions and clutter are so deeply intertwined in racing tboughts and a monkey mind ! .It's been several years that this overwhelming, inundating clutter had submerged my rational breath space .in my internal and external environment and episodes of near disasters in health of family members has been a wake up call ! Yet, it's taking years to clear but I'm blessed that guiding angels like you are appearing and helping clear the clouds of procrastination .🌸 Thank you so very much for this very grounding video ❤
Just what I needed to watch before going to bed. It was an unnecessarily long and hectic evening today. Your words and this video brought me some relief.
Loved the video. I do hope that all those candles are not just left in the sea. To have a peaceful, healthy and mindful life, we also need to take care of the environment and decrease pollution.
Reflectively Inspiring💟 Im on the same journey...1 step at a time 1 day at a time... My spirit feels so at ease when you focus on the simple pleasures and disconnect from the main stream madness
Sophie that was good cinematic structure you made it seem like you randomly went to the library and happened to find a recipe for banana bread that inspired you and then you went home and made it. I like that ❤
sophie ❤thank you for another wonderful video. Those distractions take us away from our path….thank you for this reminder of how to stay true and focused 💐
Want to thank you for sharing your beautiful life. I just started watching & listening to your videos they are very inspiring. I'm hoping to change my life to a simpler more full filling and healthy life for my children, my loved ones, & ultimately for me. ❤thank you so much!!
Thank you, Malama! I was lived in distracted life, literally in our house. But when I watch this video, I've learned a lot on how to do habits to avoid distraction and stay focus. 💚
With ADHD, so what’s helped me is when I use a Pomodoro app, so I have 25 minutes for chores or whatever, and 5 minute breaks after each session. I just have to actually prioritize doing that tho, cuz it’s easy to just hang out with the kids for hours or waste time on my phone instead of being productive or doing something else I enjoy that isn’t on my phone, like drawing, sewing, or cooking. (Instead of just making the leftovers stretch, and eating less healthy meals because they’re quicker.) Also that tree is gorgeous!! ❤
Hi Sophie 👋, Sometimes, life distractions can get in the way of us focusing on being present and embracing what’s happening right in front of us (if we choose to let them, that is). At the same time however, I don’t think many of us would understand what it really means to prioritize what we know is most important for us without these life distractions and their impact on us and our daily lives. Sending you lots of love!!! ❤️❤️❤️🤗
Thank you so much for your videos! 😊 I just started my own channel and uploaded my first video and knowing how much work one video is, I appreciate your work even more. Your videos are so calming and helped me in a very difficult time, so thank you from all of my heart ❤
Thank you for this video Sophie. You don't know how much you have been helping me over the last year. The love of my life, my husband of 4 plus years, ended our marriage. The grief and devastation have been nothing less than traumatic & paralyzing. Your channel along with other favorites, professional help and 3 friends have been my sources of pulling myself through, fighting tooth & nail, to turn my journey into one of healing & opportunity. Distractions including clutter DEFINITELY have had a huge impact concerning my healing & restoration. It is also difficult for me to create a new life for myself when I have these distractions hanging over my head.... constantly. I have made progress.... slowly however surely....and thanks to this video, I am about to get up, put my phone down and continue what I had planned on doing today. And that includes going into nature and allowing myself to appreciate its beauty. Thank you again Sophie. I wish you & your husband and precious fur babies a wonderful weekend 🌞🌻🌹✨
Sophie your videos never get bored for me all the time and your videos are the best you inspired me so so much and I wish you have a amazing Friday!!💓✨
Yup i spent most of my time, looking & playing with my phone.

I get so frustrated with myself. Tomorrow, I will intentionally leave my phone in another room (it's my day off) so I can focus on what I want to accomplish.
Yay!!I've been looking forward to a new video! I always find myself scrolling through your videos for guidance. One thing I've noticed, is you reference a lot of amazing books.
