But now I have to bring the “outside world” with me everywhere I go, so I can go “on line” to arrange for rides, order meals, and get all of the “notification”, instead of being immersed in the magic and leave all that stress behind😕. Oh I know, I don’t have to play the game, but that’s what Disney wants you to do now.
Gets slightly more annoying as an international guest, either having to hunt down a WiFi connection or have to find a mobile plan which will not cost the earth. Mobile ordering may also have an additional headache if you mainly use cash, the latter of which may be preferable due to better rates. I know gift cards are an option, but it's still extra steps. This is also presuming you're somewhat tech competent, I would genuinely be interested to hear some cast members experiences with.....certain types of guests. I work retail in the UK and let's just say I regularly deal with people who struggle with the basics......like looking at what's on screen and reading it. Note: I'm talking about anyone with special needs.
I remember back in the day, the main reason we would go off site was for shopping. Walking to Goodings from Downtown Disney and getting a cab back to our room at Old Key West.
Idk waking up early in the morning to try to win a bidding war for the opportunity to ride a particular ride my family is excited for is incredibly stressful. Forking out cash on top of the thousands I’m already paying to not have to wait hours in line. Also being disabled and no longer able to access DAS and be reminded every moment how much Disney cares about their pockets instead of my experience has really eroded the whole “forget about your troubles” aspect.
*knock knock* ******Politics and ideologies bust down your door by having a monorail voice talking in gender neutral language to please some bizarre people.
I had made ears for my last trip, and an employee said "Look, Minnie, THEY made THEIR ears THEMSELVES." I am very much obviously a girl. I thought it was weird.

Exactly. They are eroding the immersion.

The only thing that will snap you back into reality real quick is the price tag. Reality of life.
I like it some.
