The lack of Scar in the villains land is weird, I feel like he’s one of the most popular villains of Disney. But I’m really excited for the inclusion of Yzma and Chernabog!
I don't remember where we were, but my sister and I were talking recently on how cool it would be for Disney to build a ride themed around The Emperor's New Groove. Mostly based on that scene where Yzma and Kronk are going to the lair and have the ride start with Kronk "pulling" the wrong lever. Come on Disney. Please make our dreams, or in this case nightmares, come true.
Me and my son have been and hopefully one day we might get the pull the lever Kronk roller coaster. Since The New Emperor’s New Groove is one of our favorite movie. Yzma is the only villain who has a coaster in the movie. Also the concept art shows a roller coaster going in water. Exactly like the movie.
So they basically shared the same information we got back in September. There is no news about where monstropolis is gonna be located or what type of ride system the encanto ride is gonna be ?!! What the heck.!!!
Dynamic Attractions has been working on a trackless offroad ride vehicle, the AGV AT, for over 6 years. DSNY Newscast had a video predicting this a month ago I think. Dynamic has some really cool videos on their website of ride concepts.
They didn't even announce a brand new brazil pavilion??!! This expo was the biggest letdown for sure. I feel bad for the people who wasted their money on this expo.
I hope that too. Let Disney know and voice your opinion before it's too late. Talking cars from the 2oth century with faces, a real American frontier vibe there. Pure idiocy! The park will be forever scarred. Put it where it would fit like Hollywood Studios or replace Autopia.
I like that they are adding more attractions and refurbishing older resorts, I just wish they’d do it the way they used to. With all the money that is spent on a Disney vacation, the last thing people want to be reminded of is “the every day”. In my first 6 trips to Walt Disney World, not one time did I see a construction worker or hear any construction noise of any kind. Did I see construction walls? Yes, but never saw a single person working or hear any noise. This is while staying at Disney’s Yacht Club while the Boardwalk Resort was being built. Floors would just appear the next day. Since around 2002, they have had a much different way of maintaining, constructing, repairing, and refurbishing the theme parks and resorts. No regard for guests or the property itself. I’ve been at a bus stop at Old Key West Resort when a couple of painters come by and start painting parts of the bus stop. They left without placing “wet paint” signs. I can only imagine what happened after we left on the bus. They didn’t even ask people to move, just painted around them. Really odd and these were contractors, not Disney maintenance workers. Another time we were staying at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and had to request our room be moved due to construction noise. If we hadn’t been repeat guests and known most of the staff, I don’t think we would have been accommodated the way we were. We were upgraded from a pool view to a mini suite. My youngest was only 18 months old, so midday naps were mandatory. I’d take my older son down to the pool and we’d swim for a bit before returning to the parks. I know Disney can have little to no wait times on most of their attractions, because I’ve experienced it. The idea of having to pay to get a shorter line, to me, is ridiculous. Crowd and queue control are things that Disney used to excel at, but not lately. This idea of “pricing out” the crowds seems to have worked, but it’s not good for the corporate image. I know Disney has always been a bit more expensive, but it used to be worth the money. It used to be not just an enjoyable experience, but a magical one. I could always forget about the outside world every time I went, until I was starting to see my dollar not go as far. Once I noticed that I was spending more and more money, that’s when the magic disappeared and I started to focus on what I was paying for. When your children complain about things, this is when you know it’s gotten bad. The once pristine surroundings were now showing signs of disrepair and unlike in the past, it was still there the next day. I started to think, maybe I wasn’t paying as close attention as I thought. I was then reminded by my, at the time, ten year old son, “no Daddy, you always noticed when something was fixed.” If children are anything, they are brutally honest. I still love this place in spite of all the recent shortcomings, maybe it’s the optimist in me. I don’t know. All I know is right now, Disney could have a larger share of the pie. They could be all by themselves and far out of reach of the competition, but they’re not. They could make more profit by lowering prices, but they probably won’t. There’s a sweet spot in there where customers and the company are both happy. I think that, just my personal opinion, they have crossed into the territory where they are not making customers happy (whether or not they are paying for extras is not really my point). By making things more complicated than is necessary and charging more on top of that, this is where I have a problem. This is supposed to be a fun experience, not a confusing one. Spontaneity has been taken away by requiring use of the app in the park. If I want to use it, I’ll use it. Making it mandatory does detract from the fun. I will return to these parks in time, but right now I just use my DVC and do other things in the area.
Trackless, outdoors, and on dirt. What could possibly go wrong? What they've been pushing as an E-ticket thrill ride will probably wind up significantly nerfed as a moderately paced D-ticket ride. I just can't see Disney introducing anything approaching true trackless thrill territory, unless it just has one or two sections that each utilize a track for the "thrill" aspect.
@@leq6992I don’t believe it will be on actual dirt , the drawings are to simulate that idea. Dirt would require constant grooming , would get in peoples eyes, clothing etc. it has to be a solid surface that looks like dirt.
What about Frontierland Expansion, for Old Yeller ride like dogs that have handle bike coaster like Pony Express at Knotts Berry Farm version of horses, and themed smokehouse food?
Agreed. I just sold my Speedy 35 kislux (I did keep the brown one), my Sofia Coppola perforated LV clutch, my blue Damier clutch I bought in Japan, and the By the Pool vanilla clutch. Kept an orange epi Alma. It feels great!!
Considering how many tires the test track system goes through on the vehicles this would be increased by on off road track and also add in more consumables of suspension systems. Seems like it would be better to simulate the off road experience along the lines of Indiana Jones where the vehicles moves on a smooth track but simulates a rough ride.
I will exuse the Cars ride for being a new Mountain ride instead of seeing the Splash Mountain stump from Adventurland now maybe we will see the top of the Mountain of cars While I did love the river of America Walt Disney said himself that there would be no progress without change and he doesn't want his parks as a museum.
I was really hoping there would be more then 2 attractions added to each of the new lands at Walt Disney World especially the Villain’s land. Seems like the norm for them now a days.
I think Dr Facilier, Magnifico, Scar, Frollo, Prince John, the Horned King, Ratigan, Rattcliffe, Shan Yu, Oogie Boogie, Shere Kahn, Tamatoa and Prince Hans, as well a few Pixar villains like Syndrome, Randall, Hopper, and Lotso should be added as well
Hear me out here. What if Doofenschmirtz is the one who summons the villains through an error in his latest inator. (I just really want Doofenschmirtz in the Villains Land)
I knew it was a long shot but I was really hoping to see frollo in the new villains land. They even used the instrumental of hellfire in the announcement!
A high speed trackless ride seems incredibly dangerous. I personally think they should just use the same ride system as Test Track, Journey To The Center Of Earth, and Radiator Springs Racers.
Tom, don't forget that outside of Disney fanboys, The Emperor's New Groove is not a very popular movie. And even some of us who are Disney Fanatics don't care for that movie too much. Being included, but not featured, in Villain's Land is a win ENG fans should take.
So in my dream scenario Yzma and Kronk has decide to build a little dark ride to trick some money out of the silly "tourists" to villains land, think cheap travelling carnival ride set up that would have like three scenes and then you're out. Now Yzma ask Kronk if the safety harnesses used on the ride isn't a bit much, but Kronk does a whole Junior chipmunk safety spiel. Then once you're all buckled in you get the pull the lever, wrong lever line, and you drop down instead of going forward on the "fake" track in front of you. You fall into a meeting of villains plotting and you need to get out fast to hide Yzmas failure. The ride then continues as a high speed thrill ride with a few narrow escapes from the grasp of different villains.
@WDWNT If you mean concrete that looks like dirt like they have done many times before (dl autopia, safari, etc.), sure. Anything that is going to get displaced by the ride vehicles and rain, not a chance. They would have to regrade the surface daily to maintain it.
2:12 I feel like this is almost too late. The parks are too crowded, and combine that with wait times and the lightning lane being an overcomplicated disaster, a lot of people who’ve gone for the first time over the last 5 years don’t want to go back.
Lightning Lane is now the same as FastPass+ was, so I don’t think anything is too late. You have to build back trust and give guests a reason to return.

Yeah boy! Yet another terrible blunder. Looks like CRAP from this depiction. Looks like something some off property, mediocre hotel would throw together. So much of their new resort rooms and public areas are becoming so generic and non-Disney special. A company that's losing its way - so sad.
Villians land needs the entrance to be evil queen's castle, a walk through similar to the castle at Disneyland. An Ursala boat ride on the level as pirates of the carribean would be awesome. A roller coaster ride would work for Maleficent or yzma. Queen of hearts and Cruella need a meet and greet in their own house, similar to mickey and Minnie house at Disneyland toontown. Hades Hot foods could be a restaurant. Captain Hook treasures could be a gift shop. The possibilities are endless....I hope they put real thought into it.
Just imagine if they had, lets say a log flume ride that they were needing to retheme, they could of maybe themed it to an animated film that had a log flume ride in it..... Before anyone says anything I don't care about splash mountain being rethemed to PatF, doesn't bother me in the slightest
Josh to Imagineers: “Hey, I need something to take to D23 Brazil to distract them from Epic Universe chatter.” Imagineer reply: “How about these ‘epic?’ villain cards?”
I think they should do a roller coaster for yzma! You go forward and then stop, and then there would be an animatronic of krunk and then you would hear Yzma say pull the lever krunk then he pulls the lever and she yells wrong lever! and then you just drop and start your coaster ride As much as I do like Tom Sawyer’s Island, I’m really excited for cars land and I could see why they want to get rid of Tom Sawyers Island, I’m thinking maybe because nobody in this generation knows who Tom Sawyer is and doesn’t know anything about the story behind the island etc it will be nice to have our own cars land like how California has cars land
The Duchess from Fantasy Springs should get her own movie. She built a grand place to host the people from the lands she met being transported by the Fantasy Springs. There is so much potential.
The "thing that changes the industry"... I predict Universal will be so interested in this idea that they will steal it and build their own Villains land, which will open next year in Epic Universe thanks to their newfound ability to time-travel! And then they'll get back in the Delorean and create other multi-IP lands like DreamWorks Land, Marvel Super Hero Island, Toon Lagoon and Lost Continent. Then again, Disneyland has had this "feature" since the 1950s. (It's called Fantasyland.) Think about what's already come before declaring what's going to be. Speaking of the Lost Continent: The original land was a far better implementation of three different IPs than Fantasy Springs - I will not climb off my pedestal in claiming those rock-carved springs are creatively-lazy, and don't get me started on a differently-themed hotel towering over it all - and I'm predicting the Lost Continent - created 25 years ago, by the way - will be better than the upcoming "Fantasmic Springs" (copyright ME). The Disney company - NOT Oriental Land Company - has done "industry-changing" new lands TWICE in the past few decades: Cars Land and Pandora. (Yes, Galaxy's Edge did not make the cut. And as pretty as the Arendelles are, they are not changing anything.) The only reason those two set standards is because they got money thrown at them. And the only reason they got money thrown at them is because the men behind the IPs - John Lasseter and James Cameron - were heavily involved. When a John Lasseter isn't involved, things like Cars Road Trip happens. Of all the D23 announcements, there is only one project that will get real money thrown at it, and that's another Cameron project. "Lesser" successful projects like Zootopia and Battle for the Sunken Treasure got proper budgets thanks to half the money being paid by the government. (A perfect example of Disney budgeting affecting project outcomes: The best Arendelle is 100% Oriental Land Company money. The second-best is Hong Kong's, half of which was government money. The two "worst" are in Paris (a prediction, obviously) and Orlando, 100% Disney money.) The Villains land will be lucky to get Galaxy's Edge money, and that would still be a budget shared with the new Cars ride, so it ain't gonna change no industry. "Not Radiator Springs Racers" will certainly fall between the Anaheim apex and the Paris nadir of Cars-themed rides. It will probably be more exciting than Radiator Springs Racers, but the rockwork will be much lesser. Much. Also, the words "high-speed" and "trackless" do NOT belong in the same sentence, so let's end that nonsense right now. They can't even get driverless vehicles to stop crashing into each other in the real world and you think they're going to put this in a Disney park? Call that ride "The Lawsuit Express". It will be a "high-speed" slot car OR a low-speed "trackless" ride. This track testing is being done on dirt so they can change up the terrain between each circuit. I'm sure there's footage of a very flat track that represents the "thrills" of a trackless circuit - note the inner and outer turns in that one section, the inner turn clearly for a much-slower-moving vehicle - but they wouldn't show that to an audience because who would want to ride that? In fact, I think them showing footage ONLY of the slot-car "test track" is the death knell for a trackless ride. The dirt track allowed them to push the terrain to the upper limits of the slot-car experience, something the Imagineers certainly fought for over an "outdoor dark ride" experience a trackless ride will provide. Disney has brought innovation with the Shanghai Pirates ride system and we won't see any other innovation beyond that until that ride system is in every single park. Think about it for a second: D23 was filled to the brim with decades-old ride systems: Two new Avengers rides using 14-year-old technology - Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey - and 25-year-old technology - The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. Yes, old UNIVERSAL STUDIOS technology. And those are spring chickens compared to the reused Indy system (turning 30!). But even that will seem innovative compared to the new Monster's Inc coaster, as the first suspended coaster dates back to 1902!!! And that's still nothing compared to dark ride/boat ride systems, which go back to the late 1800s. It's fine to think Disney will be creating mostly-new things to enjoy, but let's be a little more judicious with words here. Disney is rarely an "innovator" anymore. And this isn't a Disney vs Universal thing (though Universal is at least doing something innovative with the Spider-Man ride system!). Some European parks are doing "industry-changing" things that both American companies should really be paying attention to. Don't oversell the product in advance and then maybe you won't be so underwhelmed when you finally see it.
Here's hoping for a Villian HOA meeting ride where all the villains get together to discuss how to take over the rest of the park.
Me too
I would go for a ride or show. Either way, it would still be funny with what the Villains come up with.
😂😂😂that would be hillarious !
They did that in the Kingdom Hearts game. 😂

What’s wrong with these ones? And what about mother gothell 😂
And magnifico, and turbo from wreck it Ralph, and even Hans from frozen are you dumb
And dont forget turbo from wreck it Ralph, magnifico from wish, and Ernesto de la Cruz from coco
As much as I would love monstropolis to start its construction in early 2025 , I personally think it could be pushed back until late 2025 .
It's odd to me Facilier wasn't included in the 13 villians
poor no Claude Frollo the greatest villain ever
Some people will go to great lengths to be the first on the Treasure!
omg the pirate lounge looks so lame now
Yeah boy! Yet another terrible blunder. Looks like CRAP from this depiction. Looks like something some off property, mediocre hotel would throw together. So much of their new resort rooms and public areas are becoming so generic and non-Disney special. A company that's losing its way - so sad.
Tom any news’s if MK could lose parades while they demo rivers of America and Tom Sawyer island since the parade route goes right past all that
Seems unlikely with a parade debuting next year
Villians land needs the entrance to be evil queen's castle, a walk through similar to the castle at Disneyland.
Before anyone says anything I don't care about splash mountain being rethemed to PatF, doesn't bother me in the slightest
yeah villains land looking more and more like a concept than anything fleshed out.
God please don’t let this happen.
Josh to Imagineers: “Hey, I need something to take to D23 Brazil to distract them from Epic Universe chatter.” Imagineer reply: “How about these ‘epic?’ villain cards?”
It wasn’t viewed as a major event, so I doubt there was much conversation
What does I.P. stand for?
Idiot Protocol
Wheres the fortnite land thats the real game changer we need
WRONG LEVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE…
Why do we even have that lever?
Couldn't care less about Cars in Frontierland. At least Disneyland still has its river.
it will be at magic kingdom
Yes
Again, Dr. Facilier gets shafted.
I'm thinking Disney keeps revealing things just to keep the hype up. Meanwhile, Universal just goes ahead and builds things.
Sorry Tom I'm hijacking this to announce the opening of Donkey Kong Country in USJ next month Dec 11 2024. Perhaps a return to Osaka is in the works?
It’s not, I’m too busy. We recorded a UPNT episode with this news, it’s releasing today.
I think they should do a roller coaster for yzma! You go forward and then stop, and then there would be an animatronic of krunk and then you would hear Yzma say pull the lever krunk then he pulls the lever and she yells wrong lever! and then you just drop and start your coaster ride
As much as I do like Tom Sawyer’s Island, I’m really excited for cars land and I could see why they want to get rid of Tom Sawyers Island, I’m thinking maybe because nobody in this generation knows who Tom Sawyer is and doesn’t know anything about the story behind the island etc it will be nice to have our own cars land like how California has cars land
Nooooo. Good must always prevail. Evil is not good!
Have any permits been filed for this M.K. work yet? Aside from draining R.O.A?
The Duchess from Fantasy Springs should get her own movie. She built a grand place to host the people from the lands she met being transported by the Fantasy Springs. There is so much potential.
Funny how Disney didn’t have the balls for decades to build a Villains Land until Universal announced/built Monsters.
This will be the end of Disney. First the price raises. Now the introduction of Evil where there is no happily ever after!
