Do you remember approximately how much space was underneath the bed (height)? The beds in DJ look different than the other beds in Helaman. Trying to buy storage containers for underneath the bed...
@@savannahcobb9032 no problem! We need videos like this, please. I will come to BYU in a year and I'm trying to collect as much information as possible. About dorms, lifestyle in Provo, freshman Advices, etc.
i was absentmindedly watching this video while doing homework when i noticed the city art print decorations in your dorm!! I get one of those calendars every year and I’ve saved them to put up in my future dorm. now that that’s next year (tulane ‘25!) I’m so excited to have found an example of them in a dorm! how did you put them up? they look like they’re mounted to something, almost 3D. edit: oh perfect, the velcro strips sound great! i paused immediately when I saw them and didn’t watch the rest lol
I'm glad you love the prints too! I a got foam core board from hobby lobby (one side is sticky and the other side isn't). Then, I took all of my papers that I wanted to hang up and organized them on the board. Finally I got a box cutter and cut the pictures out with the foam core attached. The velcro command strips were great for hanging them up and giving them that 3D look. I would totally recommend this technique because it keeps the papers from creasing or bending, plus it looks less tacky. Thanks for watching! Does David John hall fill up fast since it’s the only hall without communal bathrooms? I’m thinking about going to BYU but haven’t decided yet and am nervous that it is filling up already?
I was in the same boat as you this time last year. I would assume DJ fills up the fastest so here’s what I did. Sign up for housing anyways! It’s easy to get out of contracts for on-campus housing, and worst case you leave an empty bed space for someone on the waiting list to fill. I accepted my BYU admissions, got housing, and didn’t decide to go there until about a month after. I was so happy i thought ahead because i knew i would have somewhere to live in case i did end up picking BYU.
@@savannahcobb9032 hey sorry to bother you again but I’m rewatching your video (it’s that helpful haha) before I visit BYU in a couple weeks and I have another question. Do you have to accept your admissions before you can get housing cause I still haven’t decided between two schools but want to sign up for housing at BYU anyway (like you suggested) to try and get David John hall in case I do go to BYU!
great question. I have no idea haha I haven't been in helaman halls for a fat minute. I remember it being very roomy though. You can lift the bed and make it higher or lower depending on what you want. Our beds in the video were raised up to fit more stuff underneath.
@@savannahcobb9032 thank you!! it looks great by the way seriously thank you for the video, it's really the best resource i've found by far. i immediately sent it to my roommates and we love it :))
BLESS YOU!! just got into byu and you’re the only one who has a video this detailed 🤧🤚
(watching this religiously before moving in next week)-----> You are a lifesaver!!
I lived in Helaman Halls in the '90s and Holy cow! The TV in the lobby looks like the same one that was there when I attended.
Thank you so much for making this!!! I'm only a sophomore, but BYU is my dream school!!
You're so welcome!
Just got my spot in this exact building! Thanks for the tips :)
THANK YOUUU I have been waiting for someone to make this...hopefully I will end up needing it :))
I’m soooo glad it helped you! Best of luck!

@@kylaanderson8558 i have "dining plus" and I love it. I totally recommend it because your dining dollars work everywhere on campus.

Thanks for making this video, it's very helpful! Where did you get the city art prints on your wall? They're so cool!
they are prints from the Rifle Paper Co. yearly calendar.
In your opinion will hall in Heleman is the best and why?
I love David John Hall because you don't have communal bathrooms. Taylor and Stover are also pretty social dorms from what I've heard.
How much space is there under the bed? like how far off of the floor is it?
