They're pretty good for lightweight sleeping bags especially combined with a poncho, I've slept in them outdoors when I got too tired to keep riding bikes (always keep one rolled in my poncho under the seat of mountain bike or on the toolroll of my motorcycle JiC)
I got one as well an just picked up a surplus one from americana pipe dream. These are okay but the actual surplus are way more thicker with insulation.
Hello! thanks for the video. wondering how I can tell if i have a fake or real woobie. mine says its Made By Royal Maid Association for the Blind and NOT Winston Salem industries fore the blind
@@randyyeager yep just about the same I'm guessing, mines OD and used to block out most sunlight snoozing in my hammock, but held up to the windows in my apartment I can see daylight filtering through it, doesn't happen with the cheap heavy vinyl poncho I use as a sleet sheet aka basha
@@davidgraemesmith1980 right, so used with a poncho it'd work a lot better...makes sense, as it would block the wind and also create an air layer between them for better insulation.
Thanks for the review, I got one but have not put it to the test yet. Enjoy you videos keep them coming

add that to the poncho and you got a fairly decent sleep system
In the 1980s at ft bragg all we used was a military poncho and poncho liner in the field all year long.
I just picked up two, unissued "woobies" made in USA.. they are great. $40 + tax at my local surplus depot.

When you were holding it out, you could see light coming through. if light comes through, can it really be that warm?
They're actually almost as warm as a European summer duvet rated at Tog 4.5, I use one in or under my hammock during the summer months.
@@davidgraemesmith1980 can light get threw yours?
