    Cute idea but unless you're bringing the instructions with you, no one's gonna remember how to do that or that it could in the first place.

      You could set it up before you go so it just has to be unrolled

    Thanks for reviewing this. This looks ideal for summer use where you wouldn't need to pack a sleeping bag . The whole system looks compact and lightweight.

    Good informative video and a clear and understandable voice and thank God no background music to drown your voice out. Have the poncho and will now look into the liner and blanket. Thanks for the demonstration and info, well done. I have one of the rubberized ponchos, what were issued back in the mid-sixties when I served, kept you wet with sweat in the summer and cold in the winter.

    The pancho liner "woobie" alone is good to about 45F, it's my everyday blanket, use it on the bed. The pancho itself makes a great tent or when 4 wheeling it covers me my gear and the 4 wheeler. I'll have to buy me Camp Shield Blanket and try it out.

    Thanks for the review and look at how they fit together. Wish you would have rolled the finished product up so we could see how much room the complete system would take up in a backpack. Curious about the combined weight?

    Great video review for this poncho system. I would like to have it. Maybe it will come and to Greece too so to have the opportunity to buy it. Unfortunately I can't find it until now.

    Did any body ever hear that old story about how if it may be too narrow to wrap yourself in... I live this stuff also. If one is to merely flop the poncho "system" end to end, not side to side. (Long ways.) Better than a movie flicker show. Thank you for sharing. Tarps, wool blankets, how many puffer/sherpa layers can you wear under your rain gear?

  • @davidhawkins847
    @davidhawkins847 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How low would you say that setup could safely keep you comfortable?
    Ive been looking at something like this as an alternative to a sleeping bag for an emergency kit. Id only seen the woobie and they don't seem that warm to me but i haven't used one. I also hadn't considered adding in the camp blanket.
    Im in an area where i can be anywhere from 0-8k in elevation at any time of the year. At those higher elevations you could be 80 in the day and high 30s at night in the summer and of course colder in the winter.
    I have a similar system im considering but probably 2-3x the cost. Might be nice to pick up these as a trial set.

    • @OdinswolfSurvival
      @OdinswolfSurvival  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the 40s for sure once you get below freezing things change. With some prep the set would help keep you alive but probably not comfortable. Also it depends on your cold tolerance

      @OdinswolfSurvival
      It would really be nice if they put snaps on the wooby to, I think. Then you could snap in both layers and close it up like a sleeping bag.

    So does it lose the ability to be used as a poncho when the liner is installed? So no good for cold wet weather?

    • @OdinswolfSurvival
      @OdinswolfSurvival  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It would have to be cut and sewn like a military one

    • @xMrBlack
      @xMrBlack 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Most military issued ones don't have holes either. That's what cold weather gear is for. The liner was specifically designed for a sleep system. It's like the prototype of the MSS

  • @xMrBlack

    I couldn't use that. everything military or copied from military is made for tiny little guys under 6 feet and 200 lbs or less. it wouldn't go around my shoulders. Cool set up though if you aren't XL or bigger though.
