I remember when GOT was announced and much was made about how D&D got GRRM's blessing because they guessed who Jon's mother was. I'd love it if HBO made a show about Jaehaerys and Alysanne! Alysanne is one of the most interesting characters in the ASOIAF world and she has a lot of parallels with Dany. I wonder if Dany will look back at Alysanne and Jaehaerys when she finally starts to find out more about her family, the Others and Aegon's prophecy.

The Targaryens visiting The North is hands down the best parts of Fire and Blood, at least for me! Such a treat with these videos!😁👍 I find it a bit depressing though that we who have read the books can fit Aegon's Prophecy so easily in canon, but that the only show watchers can't, since in their eyes the prophecy wasn't even right to begin with... That there wasn't a Targaryen who defeated The Night King... That Tyrion talked about "a Targaryen not being welcomed in The North since what happened last time", completely dismissing and even IGNORE the visits of Jaehaerys and Alysanne, Jacaerys and even Aegon V as a boy (since its said the next Dunk and Egg story will take place in The North in some way!) But those things are in the crappy season 8 which is not canon, like at all! This could have been avoided if they would have sticked with Jon defeating The Night King, which had been building up through the seasons up to that point! But no! They wanted to "suppress expectations" and make Arya the hero... Like come on! No hate on Arya! Love Arya! She's my favorite Stark actually! But her story is so much different from Jon! I'm not too hyped for The Snow Show yet, but I'm curious what they will do with it! Will they try fix what was ruined in season 8? Anyways! I'm looking forward to the next video!

This is where you can tell D and D didn’t read the books at all for the later seasons. Dragons are magical beings, and since the wall is a magical barrier, they can’t cross it. This is specifically noted with Alysanne and Silverwing, but somehow Dany and Drogon were able to cross it to save Jon ig.
Fire and Blood was published after season 7 of game of thrones. I’m not defending D&D (they are morons) but they were unaware dragons can’t pass the Wall. I think Martin wrote this scene in response to season 7
That dragon had been chilling near the wall for quite awhile and may have had a reason to be spooked but Danys dragons just reaching adulthood had no reasons to doubt where they were being riden
I’d say it’s more likely that the magic holding back the others and the dragons began falling, and the CotF decided to start bringing down wards to allow Danny’s dragons to cross the wall and save Jon. They needed the NK to get a dragon and the 2 dragon riders safely out of the North. Then the children roasted up some Jojen meat, made Weirwood Paste Margaritas, turned on their Weir-Fi and tuned in to watch Season 8. White walkers destroyed, 2 dragons gone, and their fearless leader Bran gets crowned as King. They cried with joy and cheered as they watched the rest of us cry, bitch, scream, and then deny that this was happening to our beloved Queen, King in the North, and the Wildlings wildling out beyond the wall - ROTJ ending celebration and Ghost getting his King of the Direwolves Crown! As the children laughed maniacally as they blindfolded Dave and Dan, so that they could take them to the secret passage to their world. Then they presented D&D to Drogon to BBQ. Drogon ate them up like a toddler with a cupcake, because they had fulfilled their purpose. After all, can’t have them f-ing up Sam’s ASOIAF, or contradicting the bangers Bran the Broken is dictating to Tyrion since, “who has a better story than Bran the Broken?” 😂😂😂

I’m don’t know if I’m more excited for the next book or all of the content you’ll create based on it… I’ve been binge watching/listening while at work because I can’t have my phone out I wear an ear bud and you’re definitely filling the gap during the wait for season 2 of house of the dragon. you have reached your destiny. go back and check out his first couple of series, goes over a lot of the meta mythology/symbolism/architypes used in ASOIAF, and the other series after that are the details but hard to follow without some of the background.
oh and then go and try to read the books again, its nuts, its like an acid trip ahah. every page is so dense and has like idk 10-50 pages of meaning and ideas if you lay them all out.

To be fair I’m mostly drawing on old fan theories there, I can’t claim much originality with the Snowgate thing and the notion of NK passing kids through the Black Gate. But the Nightfort predating the Wall is mine, as is all the heresy about NK and NQ living during the LN and creating the Others. Now that you mention it, there is *so* much dragon lords conquering the green men symbolism in Alysanne's visit to the Night's Watch. - Eating mammoth: Eating a tusked (horned) giant (green man). - Decomissioning the Nightford: Driving out Night's Queen or making people abandon her cause. - Selling her jewelry for a new castle at the deep lake: Throwing moon meteors into the ocean. - Abolishing the first night: Forbidding the greenseer reproduction strategy (as opposed to the Targ inbreeding). - Silverwing not going beyond the wall: The wall is actually protecting Night's Queen, who is bound in the world tree at the Heart of Winter. (This is a bit more speculative, but does have a parallel in Marika / Radagon sealing off the Erdtree in Elden Ring.) - Win over the Stark of Winterfell (warg king) and take his land (double the Gift). And finally - the Women's Council: This parallels Dany's visit to the Dosh Khaleen, though the significance seems to be unknown. I interpret the women in council as a sort of greenseer collective, whose allegiance has to be won in order to defeat the Others. In Elden Ring, the Finger Reader Crones are immortal women who foretell the future. All but one wear a golden crown and have an unhealthy, almost frog-like posture, hollow eye sockets and a chain of stone charms/plaques around their necks. They are the only ones who can hear and interpret the voice of the Two Fingers, a sort magical signaling device that relays the Greater Will, which I interpret as Shiva (and also the sun, in the Sun and Stars kind of way). Big female greenseer vibes. In ASOIAF there seem to be four aspects of female collectives: Maidens - Children of the Forest (Spring) , Mothers - Prostitutes, Craster's Wifes (Summer), Crones - the Dosh Khaleen (Autumn) and Death Priestesses - Silent Sisters (Winter). They seem to represent the turning of the seasons, so one can see why they might support someone who opposes the force that turns their sons into undead Others, even though Team Fire has some red wights and black shadows on their own.
it's great that you're doing all these videos about the prophecy only with someone like GRRM I'd ever think that "maybe beneath all these unknown storylines he meant it to go even deeper that might be revealed later" I don't think any other writer would have storylines that go this deep while being hidden

That part about Jaehaerys describing his battle at the Wall sounds a lot like Jon's dragon dream to me. Also, I would like to mention that the word "blood sacrifice" itself, which was supposedly a rampant practice/custom in the North during the Dawn Age, has a double meaning. "Blood" can also mean "child," as in your bloodline. So maybe the whole blood sacrifice practice has actually been child sacrifice. And instead of killing/executing people in front of the weirwoods and hanging their entrails to please the Old Gods, the people of the North had been offering their children to the Others, which is a worship of the Others. It sounds a lot like what you said in the video about the Black Gate and the ancient kings during the Dawn Age so it all makes sense. What if Craster somehow found out about this ancient practice and thought that it was the only way to please the Others and keep them away? Everything about the ancient North sounds so dark to me. George has often said that the best kings built walls and roads and that that's a boring story to tell. But truly the best Targaryen kings did exactly that. Aegon I united the realm and ordered his Hand of the King to build castle walls, Jaehaerys I built the Kingsroad and made reforms, Viserys II ruled as Hand for 15 years before becoming king and kept the realm together after the Dance of the Dragons, Daeron II made political marriages and brought Dorne into the realm, and Aegon V tried to bring back dragons and attempted to make reforms to empower the smallfolk. All of this feels like preparation for the Long Night according to Aegon's Prophecy.

The thought of Torrhen Stark rushing into battle on the Three Sisters, watches Visenya fly overhead and torch the front lines of the Sisters, god I want to see it in a show so bad you know? Though I agree with Alt Schwift X and other people, I kinda like that we don't know a whole lot about Aegon I apart from what his sister-wives and the history books said, it makes him feel more like an "Alexander the Great" kind of figure to me

It's my opinion that the magical Night's Watch door at the bottom of the well is the original passage through the original wall. The first stones put in place after the Long Night, that were covered over as the wall grew over thousand of years. Which would explain why only sworn brothers of the Watch can open it.
I dont know if anyone has already thought of this but what if winterfell has that name because the white walkers where defeated there? Or maybe thats foreshadowing to where the last battle will take place like we saw in the show. Im pretty sure someone already thought of this 😅

Hey David, Scorpiax here, another amazing video! Given certain hints about resurrection of Daenerys and her vision of crossing the Wall and reuniting with Drogo and Rhaego in the show, I believe her endgame is to become that Corpse Queen figure which aligns with your theory of Jon becoming the new Night’s King figure. If Emilia is indeed involved in Snow sequel (in her latest interview she says “Never say never”), I do believe the tale of Night’s King and Queen will echo with Jon and Dany, if she does indeed get resurrected and return to Westeros and reunite with Jon beyond the Wall and start a new family with him, basically the new de-facto King Beyond the Wall. I think post her resurrection, Dany will let go of Drogon (who will fly off to Valyria like he already did when Dany became peaceful queen in Meereen) and let go of her past as a conquering queen, just like Jon let go of his NW life after his resurrection. Her two other children, Rhaegal and Viserion, died. I believe her three dragons symbolize her future family that she will become the mother of. Mother of dragons indeed. Jon = Drogon. Rhaegal and Viserion = her two future children by Jon, a boy and a girl. Letting go of Drogon will “get” her a husband in Jon, while death of Rhaegal and Viserion will symbolically allow her to birth two children. In the books, Jon dreams about a boy, while Dany dreams about a girl. What if they have both together? And Dany also has parallels to Amethyst Empress, while Jon is a symbolic figure for Azor Ahai, who you theorize is a Bloodstone Emperor and eventually Night’s King? What if the original Amethyst Empress was killed and resurrected and went after Bloodstone Emperor to Westeros and landed in Starfall? And from there reached the north and became the Corpse/Night’s Queen? Just my two cents, I think Dany is the perfect Corpse Queen figure if she does get indeed resurrected. I am also a big believer in Dany not being a Targaryen at all by blood, but rather a descendant of Great Empire of the Dawn (this is where her dragonlord genes come from) via Daynes, and we have blue winter rose symbolisms in the books and the show, therefore, I do believe in lemongate. Because in my eyes, Dany is much more important figure than just being a Targaryen princess, she is an ice and fire combined in her own right and is connected to ancient Great Empire of the Dawn and a fallen star in her own right. But that is a topic for another day. I think this is the reason why we know so little about House Dayne and their ancestry (and how they are wielders of original Ice which is Dawn).
Well I definitely think Dany is the child of Aerys and Rhaella but yes I do think an otherized ending is possible for Jon and Dany. Forget the show - I really don’t want the Snow show myself - but in the books, it’s very possible. They would be sacrificing themselves to pacify the others essentially. Very brave. Romantic, but bittersweet

If Kit Harrington and his gang have lines of communication with Ryan Condell et al then, damn it, I'm warming (No pun intended) to the idea of the Snow show. It could explore and reveal a lot of the things you investigate in this awesome vid, the hidden history of Ice and Fire. There's lots to explore. I'm less skeptical of the Snow idea at least and hoping there's some overarching plan that all the creatives are working toward and that excites HBO's executives.
To me this is one of the added bonuses of GRRM's heavier involvement in these rumored spinoff shows, in addition to spinoff books in development like Blood and Fire ( rumored title ) and the Dunk and Egg series. While these works are not a part of the current day story in relation to ASOIAF, he has this other real estate where he can give hints and life to mysterious aspects of his universe. Just a general HotD sitdown with condal and sapochnik had GRRM nonchalantly throw in the Aegon reveal, and that one item has evolved to countless hours of theory crafting, confirmation, or just revelation. Who knew Aegon was secretly one of that world's foremost survival enthusiasts/doomsday preppers?

Given what we know about their lives and actions there is little doubt J&A were aware of and acting with what we now know is / was Aegon's Prophecy in mind. Myself pre GRRM's Aegon I's Prophecy reveal had my doubts if Aegon knew of or was acting beyond a power conquest ; but surely at some point it was clear that knowledge of the threat from the far North had come into Targ circles from the early through to the late dynasty. I thought J&A could have been the earliest to discover this knowledge after the Conquest , or at least around their era, given their actions and reforms. Of course GRRM has now clarified at least as far as Aegon I himself knew of such things. But before that reveal J&A seemed one of the obvious early candidates to discover or at least be informed of such prophetic knowledge. Between the Kingsroad (a project inititated by Jaehaerys) going directly to the Wall , to Alysanne & Jaehaerys actually visiting the Wall (something Aegon I never did) , the New Gift from J&A to the Night's Watch and the general support and fortification of the NW & the Wall commissioned by J&A. Alysanne attempted to fly Silverwing over / beyond the Wall (unsuccessfully , likely due to magical constraints) in hopes of further inspection. Alysanne even personally financed a new castle , Deep Lake , which was supposed to replace the Nightfort. Ntm personally inspecting the surrounding areas and other parts of the North ; including threats in being shown the Wildlings etc. Quite the contributions from J&A. Without a doubt , even before the recent reveal from GRRM regarding Aegon I's prophecy reveal ; myself and i am assuming many others thought Jaehaerys & Alysanne surely were in the know of such information and acted with that in mind given their actions and decisions.
I don't think it was mentioned here but there is also of course Jahereys' unification of law and coinage throughout the land to better unify them economically and politically against any threat... that's a big deal.
Take a look at H.C. Andersen's tale of the Snow Queen, if you're not yet familiar with the tale. It has fascinating parallels with the story of Night's King and Corpse Queen, as well as Jon and Bran's stories. I believe GRRM might have been inspired by Andersen's Snow Queen. Not saying that it will necessarily provide any conclusive info about GRRM's story, but it might give you some fun new ideas to play with!

I’d say it’s more likely that the magic holding back the others and the dragons began falling, and the CotF decided to start bringing down wards to allow Danny’s dragons to cross the wall and save Jon. They needed the NK to get a dragon and the 2 dragon riders safely out of the North. Then the children roasted up some Jojen meat, made Weirwood Paste Margaritas, turned on their Weir-Fi and tuned in to watch Season 8. White walkers destroyed, 2 dragons gone, and their fearless leader Bran gets crowned as King. They cried with joy and cheered as they watched the rest of us cry, bitch, scream, and then deny that this was happening to our beloved Queen, King in the North, and the Wildlings wildling out beyond the wall - ROTJ ending celebration and Ghost getting his King of the Direwolves Crown! As the children laughed maniacally as they blindfolded Dave and Dan, so that they could take them to the secret passage to their world. Then they presented D&D to Drogon to BBQ. Drogon ate them up like a toddler with a cupcake, because they had fulfilled their purpose. After all, can’t have them f-ing up Sam’s ASOIAF, or contradicting the bangers Bran the Broken is dictating to Tyrion since, “who has a better story than Bran the Broken?” 😂😂😂

oh and then go and try to read the books again, its nuts, its like an acid trip ahah. every page is so dense and has like idk 10-50 pages of meaning and ideas if you lay them all out.

To be fair I’m mostly drawing on old fan theories there, I can’t claim much originality with the Snowgate thing and the notion of NK passing kids through the Black Gate. But the Nightfort predating the Wall is mine, as is all the heresy about NK and NQ living during the LN and creating the Others. Now that you mention it, there is *so* much dragon lords conquering the green men symbolism in Alysanne's visit to the Night's Watch.
- Eating mammoth: Eating a tusked (horned) giant (green man).
- Decomissioning the Nightford: Driving out Night's Queen or making people abandon her cause.
- Selling her jewelry for a new castle at the deep lake: Throwing moon meteors into the ocean.
- Abolishing the first night: Forbidding the greenseer reproduction strategy (as opposed to the Targ inbreeding).
- Silverwing not going beyond the wall: The wall is actually protecting Night's Queen, who is bound in the world tree at the Heart of Winter. (This is a bit more speculative, but does have a parallel in Marika / Radagon sealing off the Erdtree in Elden Ring.)
- Win over the Stark of Winterfell (warg king) and take his land (double the Gift).
And finally - the Women's Council: This parallels Dany's visit to the Dosh Khaleen, though the significance seems to be unknown. I interpret the women in council as a sort of greenseer collective, whose allegiance has to be won in order to defeat the Others.
In Elden Ring, the Finger Reader Crones are immortal women who foretell the future. All but one wear a golden crown and have an unhealthy, almost frog-like posture, hollow eye sockets and a chain of stone charms/plaques around their necks. They are the only ones who can hear and interpret the voice of the Two Fingers, a sort magical signaling device that relays the Greater Will, which I interpret as Shiva (and also the sun, in the Sun and Stars kind of way). Big female greenseer vibes.
In ASOIAF there seem to be four aspects of female collectives: Maidens - Children of the Forest (Spring) , Mothers - Prostitutes, Craster's Wifes (Summer), Crones - the Dosh Khaleen (Autumn) and Death Priestesses - Silent Sisters (Winter). They seem to represent the turning of the seasons, so one can see why they might support someone who opposes the force that turns their sons into undead Others, even though Team Fire has some red wights and black shadows on their own.
So glad I found this channel! Best ASOIAF channel out there! Now I can get through the wait for WOW and HOTD season 2!

That part about Jaehaerys describing his battle at the Wall sounds a lot like Jon's dragon dream to me.
Also, I would like to mention that the word "blood sacrifice" itself, which was supposedly a rampant practice/custom in the North during the Dawn Age, has a double meaning. "Blood" can also mean "child," as in your bloodline. So maybe the whole blood sacrifice practice has actually been child sacrifice. And instead of killing/executing people in front of the weirwoods and hanging their entrails to please the Old Gods, the people of the North had been offering their children to the Others, which is a worship of the Others. It sounds a lot like what you said in the video about the Black Gate and the ancient kings during the Dawn Age so it all makes sense. What if Craster somehow found out about this ancient practice and thought that it was the only way to please the Others and keep them away? Everything about the ancient North sounds so dark to me.
George has often said that the best kings built walls and roads and that that's a boring story to tell. But truly the best Targaryen kings did exactly that. Aegon I united the realm and ordered his Hand of the King to build castle walls, Jaehaerys I built the Kingsroad and made reforms, Viserys II ruled as Hand for 15 years before becoming king and kept the realm together after the Dance of the Dragons, Daeron II made political marriages and brought Dorne into the realm, and Aegon V tried to bring back dragons and attempted to make reforms to empower the smallfolk. All of this feels like preparation for the Long Night according to Aegon's Prophecy.

Though I agree with Alt Schwift X and other people, I kinda like that we don't know a whole lot about Aegon I apart from what his sister-wives and the history books said, it makes him feel more like an "Alexander the Great" kind of figure to me

It's my opinion that the magical Night's Watch door at the bottom of the well is the original passage through the original wall. The first stones put in place after the Long Night, that were covered over as the wall grew over thousand of years. Which would explain why only sworn brothers of the Watch can open it.
Eisenhower built our interstate highway system exactly for that reason.

Given certain hints about resurrection of Daenerys and her vision of crossing the Wall and reuniting with Drogo and Rhaego in the show, I believe her endgame is to become that Corpse Queen figure which aligns with your theory of Jon becoming the new Night’s King figure.
If Emilia is indeed involved in Snow sequel (in her latest interview she says “Never say never”), I do believe the tale of Night’s King and Queen will echo with Jon and Dany, if she does indeed get resurrected and return to Westeros and reunite with Jon beyond the Wall and start a new family with him, basically the new de-facto King Beyond the Wall.
I think post her resurrection, Dany will let go of Drogon (who will fly off to Valyria like he already did when Dany became peaceful queen in Meereen) and let go of her past as a conquering queen, just like Jon let go of his NW life after his resurrection. Her two other children, Rhaegal and Viserion, died. I believe her three dragons symbolize her future family that she will become the mother of. Mother of dragons indeed. Jon = Drogon. Rhaegal and Viserion = her two future children by Jon, a boy and a girl. Letting go of Drogon will “get” her a husband in Jon, while death of Rhaegal and Viserion will symbolically allow her to birth two children. In the books, Jon dreams about a boy, while Dany dreams about a girl. What if they have both together?
And Dany also has parallels to Amethyst Empress, while Jon is a symbolic figure for Azor Ahai, who you theorize is a Bloodstone Emperor and eventually Night’s King? What if the original Amethyst Empress was killed and resurrected and went after Bloodstone Emperor to Westeros and landed in Starfall? And from there reached the north and became the Corpse/Night’s Queen?
Just my two cents, I think Dany is the perfect Corpse Queen figure if she does get indeed resurrected.
I am also a big believer in Dany not being a Targaryen at all by blood, but rather a descendant of Great Empire of the Dawn (this is where her dragonlord genes come from) via Daynes, and we have blue winter rose symbolisms in the books and the show, therefore, I do believe in lemongate. Because in my eyes, Dany is much more important figure than just being a Targaryen princess, she is an ice and fire combined in her own right and is connected to ancient Great Empire of the Dawn and a fallen star in her own right. But that is a topic for another day. I think this is the reason why we know so little about House Dayne and their ancestry (and how they are wielders of original Ice which is Dawn).
Well I definitely think Dany is the child of Aerys and Rhaella but yes I do think an otherized ending is possible for Jon and Dany. Forget the show - I really don’t want the Snow show myself - but in the books, it’s very possible. They would be sacrificing themselves to pacify the others essentially. Very brave. Romantic, but bittersweet

If Kit Harrington and his gang have lines of communication with Ryan Condell et al then, damn it, I'm warming (No pun intended) to the idea of the Snow show. It could explore and reveal a lot of the things you investigate in this awesome vid, the hidden history of Ice and Fire. There's lots to explore. I'm less skeptical of the Snow idea at least and hoping there's some overarching plan that all the creatives are working toward and that excites HBO's executives.

To me this is one of the added bonuses of GRRM's heavier involvement in these rumored spinoff shows, in addition to spinoff books in development like Blood and Fire ( rumored title ) and the Dunk and Egg series. While these works are not a part of the current day story in relation to ASOIAF, he has this other real estate where he can give hints and life to mysterious aspects of his universe. Just a general HotD sitdown with condal and sapochnik had GRRM nonchalantly throw in the Aegon reveal, and that one item has evolved to countless hours of theory crafting, confirmation, or just revelation. Who knew Aegon was secretly one of that world's foremost survival enthusiasts/doomsday preppers?

Given what we know about their lives and actions there is little doubt J&A were aware of and acting with what we now know is / was Aegon's Prophecy in mind. Myself pre GRRM's Aegon I's Prophecy reveal had my doubts if Aegon knew of or was acting beyond a power conquest ; but surely at some point it was clear that knowledge of the threat from the far North had come into Targ circles from the early through to the late dynasty. I thought J&A could have been the earliest to discover this knowledge after the Conquest , or at least around their era, given their actions and reforms. Of course GRRM has now clarified at least as far as Aegon I himself knew of such things. But before that reveal J&A seemed one of the obvious early candidates to discover or at least be informed of such prophetic knowledge.
Between the Kingsroad (a project inititated by Jaehaerys) going directly to the Wall , to Alysanne & Jaehaerys actually visiting the Wall (something Aegon I never did) , the New Gift from J&A to the Night's Watch and the general support and fortification of the NW & the Wall commissioned by J&A. Alysanne attempted to fly Silverwing over / beyond the Wall (unsuccessfully , likely due to magical constraints) in hopes of further inspection. Alysanne even personally financed a new castle , Deep Lake , which was supposed to replace the Nightfort. Ntm personally inspecting the surrounding areas and other parts of the North ; including threats in being shown the Wildlings etc. Quite the contributions from J&A.
Without a doubt , even before the recent reveal from GRRM regarding Aegon I's prophecy reveal ; myself and i am assuming many others thought Jaehaerys & Alysanne surely were in the know of such information and acted with that in mind given their actions and decisions.

I don't think it was mentioned here but there is also of course Jahereys' unification of law and coinage throughout the land to better unify them economically and politically against any threat... that's a big deal.
Take a look at H.C. Andersen's tale of the Snow Queen, if you're not yet familiar with the tale. It has fascinating parallels with the story of Night's King and Corpse Queen, as well as Jon and Bran's stories. I believe GRRM might have been inspired by Andersen's Snow Queen. Not saying that it will necessarily provide any conclusive info about GRRM's story, but it might give you some fun new ideas to play with!
