RE fish packing. I worked in inventory control in a fish packing plant in 1992. The words export and import are a little confusing. But the way it worked was, fish were purchased from the fisherman. Then they were processed at our facility, A certain amount of the fish is unusable, tail, fins, de-boning in certain cases. So the whole cod coming into the facility would weigh more than the fillets that leave. The difference between these 2 numbers is called the yield. I hope that helps.
krikkit yeah that sums it up, I was going to say something similar. Coming from a island full of fishermen who catch mostly lobster and some other types of seafood I know a lot about the fishing industry.
When I first saw the dissected raider bodies and the fishpacking plant, I thought it was mirelurks attracted to the fishy smell, and equipped my anti-mirelurk gear. Got destroyed by the synths and their energy weapons.
The Skeleton at the Bottom of the Ocean is more Die Hard humour you'll notice that theres a Gold Lighter in the Tub with the body which is what Bruce Willis has in his hand when he says "Come out to the coast, well get together have a few laughs". It may also be a reference to the packing plants pre war issues. He had a bear too. Though in the film McClaine did leave it in the limo. (Argyll tells it to shut up at one point) The duct tape im unsure if its because he tapes a gun to his back OR from when he makes the office chair bomb (he throws it in to the elevator shaft)

Ox, the simplest explanation can many times be the correct one. The fish packing plant is importing (as in bringing it into the company's facilities) the fresh fish, and then exporting the now processed and packaged fish. The discrepancies in the exported amounts compared to the imported amounts can be attributed to a number of factors: -Some of the purchased fresh fish won't pass quality checks and gets discarded -There will be a noticeable loss of weight from fresh to processed fish (as the fish is cleaned, and then either fresh packed such as fillets or canned, or ground and breaded) -Some vendors will not order as much on certain months, leaving a bit of surplus that wasn't sold (exported). So, nothing unusual really going on, just typical fresh goods (same happens in produce or other meat processing) business.

RedRocket does coolant, so those tanker trucks you see are most likely coolant for reactors. Gas powered cars can be found, but are pretty rare though.
There are lots of countries now that essential do what this fishpacking plant do. For example Norway, of all the places - exports their fish to Asia where it is processed and then returned to them. Ecnomic globalization made this feasible and more profitable to do it this way - even though it seems very strange to send it across the world. And of course you are going to export less than you imported - a certain percentage of the fish that you get is not going to meet your standards. Obviously sick/diseased, too small, malformed, etc., are going to get discarded.
That's probably it, though I'm not sure if the fallout universe got to globalization, seeing how fractured the world had to be to blow up. Might not have been necessary for the developers to alter though.
As well, it's average-per-day, not a precise monthly total. Import probably gets a slight boost because they need time to actually package the fish. They're exporting more Cod in September than they're importing, so it's probably a stockpile built up from previous months that's been stored
No offense intended, but I think people are over-analyzing this too much. Simply from the import/export terminal alone, compare each month and it makes sense. July to July for example, you'll notice that as less is shipped out, the inventory increases; when it's the same, the inventory is steady; when more is shipped out, the inventory decreases. This is further proven by the fact that they use or don't use terms like "slightly" to describe inventory changes, and this use of these terms matches the counts. In the one case I saw where the inventory didn't match, if you look at the supply and inventory across all three months and the changes, then it can be accounted for.
Also, there used to be a difference between a "packing" house and a cannery. Packing houses would simply preserve and pack fresh cuts. That difference in terms is not really the same these days and often a fishery (or other meat processing plant) will do both cuts and canning. However, since there is an actual meat cannery in FO4, perhaps the older packing term does in fact apply here and this plant only did cuts. If you want to learn more about what actually goes on in US fisheries, look at websites for them in Alaska, as well as the state and federal restrictions they have to adhere to and it makes a lot more sense.
Maybe the reason why they exported less fish then they imported is because the consumers don't want to deal with the fish bones, heads, scales and, organs. So the packing facility was also cutting off and removing the heads, organs, scales and, bones of the fish, reducing the weight of the fish they exported.
I never worked at a plant, but living in a fishing community I can say that fishing in general is often a seasonal job. So maybe the plants collect a surplus of fish through these busy seasons and store them while they sell them year round? That would be my guess.
So if you go to Four Leaf fishpacking plant, Apparently it was an operational plant still during 2287. So Bethesda simply reuse the art assets of the conveyor belt from that location when they created the Mahkra Fishpacking. In fact it seems Four Leaf was used by the ghouls that are now feral inside the plant, So possibly they were turned into ghouls by continuously eating the irradiated fish. On a side note, Mahkra Fishpacking seems to operate like most Coastal plants as in they contract out local fishermen to catch a certain quote of fish, It seems Four Leaf was issuing better contracts out to the fishermen before the great war since before the Great War, the plant was operating on a deficit and was threatened with bankruptcy, partly due to mismanagement and partly because the waste water runoff from the nearby General Atomics factory , Which is why they needed to find more fishermen. The reason you're seeing such high import volume and lower export volumes in their reports at Mahkra Fishpacking, is from packaging process and also I believe there was espionage, An example of that being the cooling system and ventilation system failures or being tampered with. You also should keep in thought that theft or the use of the black market was increasing because of inflation and stockpiling of goods was a big dilemma/Concern of the citizens/military.
Maybe the skeleton with a teddy bear was in reference to the limo driver from DieHard who was partying with the bear while everybody was being murdered?
Hey Ox importing fish in this sense refers to buying it from individual Fishing Vessels and exporting is just selling it to distributers its not normal import/export they use the import term because they product could be coming from international waters not a specific country hope this helps also you would buy what the boats bring in if there isn't a market for that particular fish they get stuck with the excess which is usually resold back to the fisherman to use as bait
I didn;t say they were gen 3 synths. I theorized that the institute went to the plant for their gen 3 synth program. That doesn't mean they sent gen 3 syntsh as part of the recon team.
your videos are getting better and better! Loved the "synth moment" and the nearby mini quest. Looking forward to my first Patreon month in February and the next live twitch session... stay dapper my friend!
6:43 judging by name alone, they get fish, they pack the fish into packages that you'd buy at a grocery store, then they export the fish, presumably to a grocery store or to a distributor
Since we can use light to send and receive data, it wouldn't surprise me if you could actually store this, but the information would be useless beyond writing other cells to be the exact same sequence. I don't think hes saying you can get someones life story from a chunk of flesh, although you can write code into DNA now and that is another story entirely (but yet the results are exactly the same) So as for now unless your a spy transporting a rival nations nuclear codes as part of your ass instead of inside it... the code write now would be the equivalent of just a bunch of ones and zeros again basically only relevant for sequencing.
Well, they are computer "geeks". The can't really be faulted too much for the myriad gun related screw ups. But it would be nice if they hadn't messed up sooo many things, not just guns.
The only thing I could theorize in so far as the institutes presence was that they might be there after all the aluminum. If we can find that much just strewn about the floor, I imagine there would be a lot more hidden away in storage and that would probably be a useful material for the tech heavy institute.
The general purpose of a fish packing plant is to remove all the bits of a fish that no one wants to eat like the head tail and guts. They then pack them into boxes or plastic bags then freeze or refrigerate them. The plant will then ship out the packed fish to various distributors. In order to make a profit they sell the packed fish at a higher price often double that, what they bought the fish from the fishing boats.
To add to above that a usually when a plant exports much less than it imports it usually means it's losing business. Imports are what is brought into the plant local or overseas, and the exports is what leaves the plant.
You know, it would be neat to see this world back before the war, and to just explore and interact with the people from all the different walks of life. I would love to see how everyday culture functioned down this amazing timeline. I've always been fascinated by what makes people in different societies tick.
The Dog of God 84 according to the wiki, can't remember how many it says you have in your inventory. Either way, it's over 80 which is pretty damn good for aluminium.
They are buying tonnage (average per day, not per month) of fish from fishing boats and they they are exporting the processed fish. When the fishing boats bring in a haul, it has to be sorted by type, cleaned (gutted), and then packed in ice to be shipped to markets. The fishing boat acts like a private business, the packing industry sorts, cleans, packages, and ships out the fish. This is identical to what the cannery down the cost would do, except that instead of packing in ice for fresh fish shipments, the cannery takes the fish and cleans, cooks, and cans it. This is why canned fish is cheaper than fresh - they are not as tied to the variance in supply and demand, since they are not shipping a fresh product they can take the cheap excess from the packers that the market doesn't need.
You mention that the imports and exports don't match up - but you don't take into account that some of the imported fish might be rotten, diseased or otherwise be unusable. That mixed with general waste that's produced when packaging the fish could account for the losses.
I must say um thankful that you do this oxhorn as when I discover locations and clear them i tend to go in look for loot kill anything that moves and leave the lore means alot to me but i just don't have time to read everything these videos are amazing because i can rediscover locations and the lore behind them
Hey Oxhorn I know I’m commenting on an old video but all the raiders look exactly the same. Mine were all a dude with a Mohawk. I’ve seen others play this too, like you. It’s a different character, but all the raiders look the same. Also there is a railroad Cache sign on the red truck next to the plant. The synths are there to (probably) ambush the next group of Railroad members to come along. There is an on cache inside the truck. And none of the raiders have synth components, which makes me think of clones. Love your vids dude!
Oxhorn- I regularly use power armor in water, since I'm on Survival and have my main settlemnt on Spectacle Island. It is very possible to get out of the ocean with the power armor.
Okay I have to say this lol I fall asleep almost every night with your playlists on and I was literally on the verge of sleep when I heard the fish packing debate and I literally sat up just to think through the import/export process while you were going through it because it was so bizarre to me XD anyway I love your videos and this just really made me laugh.
I think it was absolutely fantastic :) thanks for putting so much time and care into making your videos and interacting with everyone @@oxhorn , Fallout is my favorite game franchise right behind Bioshock and your videos always remind me why I love it so much. I'll have to keep an eye out for you wanderin Appalachia, keep having fun!
How do you manage to film ,edit other flilm stuff etc this every day? Or do you have a small team? It's amazing, you must be exhausted. only recently subbed to this channel but followed you in your old wow machinima days
I cleared the site before the railroad mission there and everyone but the leader respawn and make it impossible to clear the site for the mission! There is also a room to east outside the plate that I believe has a dead raider with that same key on his person for that loot room. At lest in my play through there was. Great work as always Ox! Keep these awesome videos coming!
Pretty sure Boston Bluefish is under 'imported' because it's being brought INto their facility.. I might have not understood it properly but its what I made of it..
Xaqqa that is correct, imports work similarly everywhere that buys goods from other suppliers. Importing goods is bringing a good or service into an area where said good or service is either uncommon or non existent
The word you're looking for was "preservative". It does stand to reason that the advanced civilization before the war would possess some very powerful food preservative technology, seeding as how so much of their food is still potable after 200 years. I mean, even the insta-diners are just now starting to succumb to mold. It would only make sense that they have some space-age food preservation techniques.
Oxhorn If it the institute needed freezing containers for the DNA wouldn't they go to vault 111? Edit: Oh, vault 111 was all ready opened, leaving harmful radiation and other harmful things inside. But it would be safer and "cleaner" (less exposed to radiation) than this fishy situation.
Late but it’s funny they were exporting the exact same type of fish and if you take off the dead raiders masks you will find that every raider is the exact same, They’re all clones like Gary.
Speaking as one who has sold international shipping at DHL, importing is simply shipping goods from a foreign country into your country and exporting is shipping from your location to a foreign country. This is the most basic definition of import/export. Shipping within one's one country is simply that, shipping. However, this does not seem to be BGS' idea of import/export. So, we as players are naturally confused. Honestly, IDK what they were thinking. Thanks for all the awesome content Oxhorn. :) Keep up the great work! I fully agree with krikkit's explanation for the weight differences. The waste accounts perfectly for the lost weight.
Hey Oxhorn, after watching this video, I decided to check out the hideout under the bridge. Your theory about the group dying from radiation might be only part of it. When I was there I noted a pitcher, drinking glasses, a bottle of vodka and rat poison. Looks more like a suicide pact type of thing. As an aside, I enjoy all of your videos and you're the main reason I've begun using mods. I've played through, explored every inch of the map once or twice. Built and rebuilt some settlements and have now started using mods for my playing. It does make the game more enjoyable to have a couple immersion mods. Having certain settlement mods makes it much easier to build in some areas as well.
Oxhorn During fish packing I would assume that they would have some lost weight due to bones and head and fins that would probably explain the loss of weight as well. Great vid by the way.
Seeing as it's measuring by weight, it could be that they gut and dehead the fish. That would explain the discrepancy between incoming and outgoing fish.
that's probably intentional as the appearance is randomized. each time they spawn the game chooses a random face to apply to all of the Raiders... over a dozen of them. My guess is that they're clones that escaped from the Institute, probably people cloned to be used as raw materials for making Gen 3 Synths.
It's possible that the raiders were processing fish before they were all killed just like how another group of raiders were mining for metals that they sold to another raider group to be smelted. I forgot what they were called.
I always love hearing you compare the combat to low levels, as I tend not to stick with builds for too long after level 50+, but last night I went to bed and it turns out my friend bumped me up to level 81 from 40 :O so maybe now I'll get to experience oxhorn level of domination lol :)
Fish caught in a different state/region will sell better outside of it's homestead. A Californian salmon will be wanted more outside of it's own state. It gives a illusion of rarity. You can up the prices because "What are you going to do? Go to a different state and get it there"
Very thorough coverage of the area, as usual. :) A few things... 1) I've always assumed that the "imports" were the fresh fish they were taking in for packing, and the "exports" were the end product they were selling, but I haven't looked into it...just seemed the most likely thing to me. 2) You probably got it right about the Institute looking for cold storage tech or some components they might reuse, cryo tech being something necessary for processing fresh fish, but alternately this might be one of the places the Institute tapped for power as needed. I have no real evidence either way, but lights are still on and the elevator works... 3) I've always wondered if "Mahkra Fishpacking" might be a roundabout Dr. Who reference. In the 2007 "Gridlock" episode, the city of New New York is infested by Macra, which causes the city to fail...you can find the ep if you google it. (Counting from the 2005 restart, it's s03e03, but "dr who gridlock" will get you there.) Probably not, but although it's spelled differently it's pronounced the same and the Macra are crab-looking things in the ep and crabs = sea life = fish? /shrug Like I said, probably not, but it makes me happier to think it is.
My theory on the note is as such: Some guys got drunk, used a bathtub as a boat, and failed miserably, later this poor guy woke up sober, realized that he was screwed and sent the note...
So weird. I just stumbled onto this location a few days ago for the first time ever, never having heard about it before. Thinking it might be an important place and that I'm just an idiot that can't find a door or hatch that will open some sort of quest, boom, you make a video about it confirming it's a useless spot. Thanks bro
David The fact that it has more aluminum than any other in the commonwealth tells me that's it's far from useless, it's also pretty good for ammo from the synths and all the dead raiders. I need to remember about this place when I get back to Fallout 4.
Close to a thousand hours in this game and I didn't know about the 'message in a bottle'. It's awesome that you can still find new things after so many hours. +1
I know this was from 6 years ago, I just enjoy re-watching your videos. This time however i had a idea. The Fish packing place was a front for Vault Tec. Freezing and unfreezing Fish and how to keep something long term frozen. A study , one of many most likely, to practice and develop ways to safely freeze and unfreeze living creatures for when they freeze people in the vault. The same fish going in could be just fake records, or they were sending out those that they could not bring back to life and kept those that did for study. They needed fresh replacements so they had them brought in. That's why the records of what went in and was sent out get a little weird. The institute found out some of they things Vault Tec was doing...and they came across this as well. That's why they attack it and keep on defending it, so they can find out the secrets and copy or take the parts needed to do it themselves.
When you go back up the lift after clearing the basement, there are synths waiting for you on the main floor. In-particular, there is a (usually high-level) synth in the semi-truck trailer with it's open rear end facing the lift.
If you would pay attention Engineers dude, In the video Cod was being sold, Jonathan made a Joke Cod (fish) CoD (Call of Duty). Next time you say something use that brain of yours to understand what's being said.
Actually, being from Atlantic Canada, it's fairly common for canneries and such to import and export the fish they process with other plants north and south along the coast in order to even out the seasonal variation in catches.
I think those were Gen 2 synths as they're the Nick-like ones that seem more like mannequins than people (and Gen 1s are the skeleton frame ones I think)
I think I have a (decent) explanation for some of the mysteries at the plant. The raiders found this place and somehow got it working. This is why there are still rotting fish. They hadn't gotten it working for very long, though, otherwise they'd be settlers by now. When the Institute saw this, they decided it needed to be shut down, to prevent the Commonwealth becoming more organized. It's not the strongest case, but I think it makes some sense.
Fish packing plants also package other companies products for them as a secondary manufacturer usually to meet a desired quota, that could have been inventory logs of product supplied prior to packaging before shipping out both Walmart and hannafords use this method to repackage seafood that goes dry or sits to long it saves cost and manpower. Pretty common in New England.
It's quite possible the fish haven't rotted due to preservatives. Remember that in the Fallout universe, foods are pumped full of preservatives to last longer to attempt to stop food shortages. It's a possibility that the fish had been preserved, but not packed before the bombs had dropped.
I think that the message in a bottle at this location got mixed up with the 'Not Going Well' bottle found near the HMS Northern Star. The trunk and corpse it leads you to in the pipe underwater is much more appropriate for the 'Die Hard' reference.
When you talked about why the Synths would be there, I figured it might be due to the fact they're looking for Pre-War fish DNA in order to create Gen 3 Fish synths, like how they're creating Synth trees and Gorillas.
Dude, if you go the Mahkra Fish Packing plant. You better bring you better bring your best armor and guns, that fight was NO JOKE. It was probably worse then blowing up The Institute. And just getting out of there is no picnic.
I remember watching some random videos of Fallout 4, there was a church (Where there are many super mutants) abd there where 2 skeletons doing.... someting very particular.... if you do catch my meaning, not sure if it was in Concord or so, but it was too damn funny when I saw it, who knows? maybe there is some stories there. Awesome video as usual.
17:23 another hypothesis is that the fish cannery was in the nuclear blasts's proximity to be hit by an EMP burst, effectively shutting the electric powered lift
Some things I noticed: 1: that table with the dead scientist and a few other dead people has a pitcher, some glasses, and some rat poison. I think they killed themselves out of desperation because they realized they weren't going to be rescued. You see the same thing with one of the people in the Cambridge Polymer Lab. 2: I believe the explanation for why the Institute was there is much more simple than your idea: they wanted aluminum and knew that a fishpacking plant would be a good source for it. If you grab the "junk" items in the Institute, such as spanners, cauterizers, recorders and tweezers, you'll notice that much of it has aluminum as a component. So, I believe that the answer is simply that the Institute has great need of aluminum so they sent a synth team to a facility that they believed possessed a good quantity of it.

Mr. Clem Maybe the raiders actually were processing fish, especially mutated ones that they caught.
Meat doesn't spoil from micro organisms. It's from oxidation.
There is a skeleton right next to the belt, there is no reason for the corpses to be intact.
If thats the case why wouldnt the minutemen jump on that shit in a heartbeat.

Hey, Ox: Did you notice that ALL of the Raiders looked exactly the same. Female, Short grey/silver hair. Not one was male. Odd?
Maybe they're synths too?
In vanilla they're always male

It's either a glitch on Bethesda's part OR THE ZETANS CREATED CLONES 😂
If the cars are fusion powered, then why do they need gasoline? I've never understood that part.
Bryant there are different variations of the cars the game some of them are powered by fusion some of them are powered by gasoline and other power sources like that
Bryant fossil fuel's were scarce that's why anchorage was attacked by red Chinese and some of the car still had enough fuel in the red rocket truck stops to get Re fueled
RedRocket does coolant, so those tanker trucks you see are most likely coolant for reactors.
Gas powered cars can be found, but are pretty rare though.
ik what u mean its confusion, but just watch Oxhorn's video on the cars of fallout 4
Bryant they are the same style tank as propane tankers. They deliver gas or liquid under pressure, a coolant product would be delivered like that.

Oxhorn you are killing it with these lore videos.
Keep em coming man
when i first went into mahkra fishpacking plant i thought mirelurks killed the raiders because of the mirelurk queen but those synths proved me wrong
also can you make a video about salem?
He did, no worries just checked it out again
Maybe the skeleton with a teddy bear was in reference to the limo driver from DieHard who was partying with the bear while everybody was being murdered?
Yes! I was thinking that too (4 years after you, but still 😀)...
CanadianBad@$$ treating sentient beings as objects.
@Iron Mike using live bait?
14:56 Those aren't gen 3 synths , Oxhorn are you okay?
I didn;t say they were gen 3 synths. I theorized that the institute went to the plant for their gen 3 synth program. That doesn't mean they sent gen 3 syntsh as part of the recon team.
You said "we stumble upon even more Gen 3 synths"
He has been replaced with a synth!
You did accidentally say they were gen 3 synths
He's not perfect guys.
your videos are getting better and better! Loved the "synth moment" and the nearby mini quest. Looking forward to my first Patreon month in February and the next live twitch session... stay dapper my friend!
6:43 judging by name alone, they get fish, they pack the fish into packages that you'd buy at a grocery store, then they export the fish, presumably to a grocery store or to a distributor
aye, you import raw fish fresh from fishing boats, process it, and then ship final product line canned fish, or flayed fish on out to wherever.
I love how you do your lore videos. It was hilarious when you were attacked outta nowhere. Keep up the hard work we all appreciate you, ox.
Oh, the fact that everyone is locked in/out is part of the Die Hard (Hard to Kill) theme of the packing plant.
DNA can be stored on a hard drive because it is just information. Muscle and flesh contains DNA but that doesn't mean it is DNA .
highlandrab19 oh
I think he means storing the recorded sequence the DNA has on a hard drive, so that it can be recoded and used at a latter date.
Since we can use light to send and receive data, it wouldn't surprise me if you could actually store this, but the information would be useless beyond writing other cells to be the exact same sequence.
I don't think hes saying you can get someones life story from a chunk of flesh, although you can write code into DNA now and that is another story entirely (but yet the results are exactly the same)
So as for now unless your a spy transporting a rival nations nuclear codes as part of your ass instead of inside it... the code write now would be the equivalent of just a bunch of ones and zeros again basically only relevant for sequencing.
I swear you are so explicative in your videos that works as postcasts too
you know the fish probably doesnt come cleaned so the 15k lbs of lost cod could be heads and other un edible pieces 8:09
can u do the atom cats soon
Yes, soon
Oxhorn thanks man
Oxhorn did you mean gen 2 synths because gen 3 look like humans while those were more robotic.
Oxhorn can you also do a video about the Med-Tek Research building.
Jay Brad more like gen 2 is The mixture of gen 1 and gen 3
Bethesda fucked up. 2:02. that's shotgun shells... for a sniper rifle
Agent Dove ikr
Nah raiders are just stupidly high.
(And the ammo is randomized)
Well, they are computer "geeks". The can't really be faulted too much for the myriad gun related screw ups. But it would be nice if they hadn't messed up sooo many things, not just guns.
Rotary Saw like the hunting riffle bolt
The only thing I could theorize in so far as the institutes presence was that they might be there after all the aluminum. If we can find that much just strewn about the floor, I imagine there would be a lot more hidden away in storage and that would probably be a useful material for the tech heavy institute.
oxhorn great vid man u are keeping Fallout alive
The general purpose of a fish packing plant is to remove all the bits of a fish that no one wants to eat like the head tail and guts. They then pack them into boxes or plastic bags then freeze or refrigerate them. The plant will then ship out the packed fish to various distributors. In order to make a profit they sell the packed fish at a higher price often double that, what they bought the fish from the fishing boats.
To add to above that a usually when a plant exports much less than it imports it usually means it's losing business.
Imports are what is brought into the plant local or overseas, and the exports is what leaves the plant.
Thanks for satisfying my my needs for fallout lore every day!
Samuel Andreson you need fallout lore everyday? That's pretty sad.
Na who am I kidding I needed to...
You know, it would be neat to see this world back before the war, and to just explore and interact with the people from all the different walks of life. I would love to see how everyday culture functioned down this amazing timeline. I've always been fascinated by what makes people in different societies tick.
81 trays in all
The Dog of God 84 according to the wiki, can't remember how many it says you have in your inventory. Either way, it's over 80 which is pretty damn good for aluminium.
Wor Jackie
Oh hell yeah
CashewCraft same thought here. some fishes are mangled during catch or transport and gets tossed out
I just played through this building for the first time less than an hour ago. Good timing Oxhorn! Love your channel.
Oxhorn, you can use power armor underwater and recover it if you have the first rank of the Aquaboy/Aquagirl perk.
I must say um thankful that you do this oxhorn as when I discover locations and clear them i tend to go in look for loot kill anything that moves and leave the lore means alot to me but i just don't have time to read everything these videos are amazing because i can rediscover locations and the lore behind them
I can remember wasn't there a note or a terminal entry saying that the Raiders got the plant up and running again?
Yes, but it is annoying and slow, and some places have no way out for power armor.
Thanks. Looking back, I think I got carried away
Just me. It's a lot of work, but I couldn't be happier :)
Oh cool. Just its all so well thought out researched edited and great quality its very impressive
Importing goods is bringing a good or service into an area where said good or service is either uncommon or non existent
but that would mean that it wouldn't count as 'importing' when bringing Boston Bluefish into their facility, Since the fish is sourced from Boston?
Xaqqa Honestly, I love this channel but his lack of common sense when speaking about what the imports and exports meant made me want to scream.
CptAceMaverick No, it just means taking in from an outside source.
You are so awesome! Thank you for making my life a bit better, comrade :)
Mahkra backwards is Arkham and this is a fishpacking factory....u thinkin what im think? Its the penguin 😏 lol
Hmm interesting observation. the location does kinda fit actually.
I would think the guy in the bathtub in the ocean was the result of a hangover, it would also explain the note
The imports refer to what comes in so this could just mean that they IMPORT from local fishermen and then export the same fish
14:20 or mabe they are there for the aluminum for making tools
beat me by 10 min to the answer, *tips hat*
Nah, they're clearly there to figure out how to weaponize the odor.
Oxhorn During fish packing I would assume that they would have some lost weight due to bones and head and fins that would probably explain the loss of weight as well. Great vid by the way.
I'm kinda of curious about the children of atom, and how come they are not heavily affected by radiation.
Seeing as it's measuring by weight, it could be that they gut and dehead the fish. That would explain the discrepancy between incoming and outgoing fish.
Why are all the dead bodies the same person
That’s what I was thinking
that's probably intentional as the appearance is randomized. each time they spawn the game chooses a random face to apply to all of the Raiders... over a dozen of them. My guess is that they're clones that escaped from the Institute, probably people cloned to be used as raw materials for making Gen 3 Synths.
gary
It's possible that the raiders were processing fish before they were all killed just like how another group of raiders were mining for metals that they sold to another raider group to be smelted. I forgot what they were called.
supermad Dunwich Borers
I love your vids oxhorn. Can't wait for the next one!
I always love hearing you compare the combat to low levels, as I tend not to stick with builds for too long after level 50+, but last night I went to bed and it turns out my friend bumped me up to level 81 from 40 :O so maybe now I'll get to experience oxhorn level of domination lol :)
Can you do the origin of Nuka World?
Fish caught in a different state/region will sell better outside of it's homestead. A Californian salmon will be wanted more outside of it's own state. It gives a illusion of rarity. You can up the prices because "What are you going to do? Go to a different state and get it there"
it could be that they only export what other companies buy.
Umm... Am i the only one who uses Coastal Cottage as a player's home and enjoys the view of Mahkra Fishpacking?
cristian collins yes
I enjoy the entire coastline in Fallout 4. From the marshy sandbars to the rocky outcroppings to the boardwalks.
Cristian Collins but you have a house in sanctuary and youll need it because of shauns stuff. Surely youll need his bed at least?
My theory on the note is as such: Some guys got drunk, used a bathtub as a boat, and failed miserably, later this poor guy woke up sober, realized that he was screwed and sent the note...
Hi, remember this comment you made a year ago? Lol. I agree!
14:56 did you mean Gen2* synths?
Yes, thanks
PemaMendez ペマ content police
Not every part of a fish is edible?
Chop off everything edible, pack/can it, and ship it out? The rest is waste.
Devisioned Fate yeah that's what I was thinking, too. if you're canning the fish you can't can then with all the bones and viscera.
True but hotdogs or fish sticks gotta be made from something.
@Rotary Saw those are made from hog lips and asses.
Yeah, that's more likely. The head, bones and other parts do get separated from the parts that usually get canned. That would lose some mass.
Close to a thousand hours in this game and I didn't know about the 'message in a bottle'. It's awesome that you can still find new things after so many hours. +1
Also can u do a murk water construction site build
That's why they attack it and keep on defending it, so they can find out the secrets and copy or take the parts needed to do it themselves.
the left fish is very fishy.
ShadowCat This pun was so bad it made me laugh because how bad that pun was.
When you go back up the lift after clearing the basement, there are synths waiting for you on the main floor. In-particular, there is a (usually high-level) synth in the semi-truck trailer with it's open rear end facing the lift.
man people sure like call of duty
Jonathan Thompson lol
You realise this is fallout 4 not call of duty m8
If you would pay attention Engineers dude, In the video Cod was being sold, Jonathan made a Joke Cod (fish) CoD (Call of Duty). Next time you say something use that brain of yours to understand what's being said.
Ravagerblade I was being sarcastic dumbass
No don't you dare use that excuse. Your better off either making sure people know what it is or keep it to yourself.
Actually, being from Atlantic Canada, it's fairly common for canneries and such to import and export the fish they process with other plants north and south along the coast in order to even out the seasonal variation in catches.
Could you do Salem/the guy that lives there, it's very unknown
LieutenantFalcon do you mean that barney guy?
Das Todes-Toast are you talking about the guy with the bunker and Reba II in it?
I killed that guy. The Reba guns are not anything to run home about in my opinion
@Hedpeace thats a war crime wtf
I think those were Gen 2 synths as they're the Nick-like ones that seem more like mannequins than people (and Gen 1s are the skeleton frame ones I think)
10:50 ya because I love 8 fusion codes for luch what of it
I think I have a (decent) explanation for some of the mysteries at the plant.
Love you oxhorn!
Always looking forward to your daily video Oxhorn. I don't know how you do it but it's pretty damn impressive that you put out quality and quantity
This was great. Another fun intresting one to do is the cannery place where the guy who owns it locks you down. Luckowski I think
I think that the message in a bottle at this location got mixed up with the 'Not Going Well' bottle found near the HMS Northern Star. The trunk and corpse it leads you to in the pipe underwater is much more appropriate for the 'Die Hard' reference.
When you talked about why the Synths would be there, I figured it might be due to the fact they're looking for Pre-War fish DNA in order to create Gen 3 Fish synths, like how they're creating Synth trees and Gorillas.
you import the raw product, in this case fish. then you process it (maybe canning, packaging for grocery stores), and export the processed goods
Dude, if you go the Mahkra Fish Packing plant. You better bring you better bring your best armor and guns, that fight was NO JOKE. It was probably worse then blowing up The Institute. And just getting out of there is no picnic.
Maybe the steamer trunk was what he put the murder weapons in
I remember watching some random videos of Fallout 4, there was a church (Where there are many super mutants) abd there where 2 skeletons doing.... someting very particular.... if you do catch my meaning, not sure if it was in Concord or so, but it was too damn funny when I saw it, who knows? maybe there is some stories there.
