As for the haters who like to tear down Elvis....These people don't deserve any attention AT ALL ! The haters have been around since the beginning of Elvis' career .The bigger somebody is at something, the more some people will TRY to destroy them...That's nothing new. These people are jealous of Elvis' popularity and his staying power. Do your own research into the life of Elvis Presley and I'm certain that you'll discover for yourself that Elvis was a good and decent guy . .He wasn't perfect, of course, but he's nowhere near as bad as some of the haters make him out to be. Haters will always hate, and like I said, no one should pay any attention to THEM. They're simply not worth our time.

The people who try to bring Elvis down really dont know a thing about the man , He was the greatest entertainer that ever lived and we are here 46 years after he passed still talking about him like he is about to go on stage again , it was his gift , celebrate what he had .

The movie wasn’t controversial. This is a scene from his 3rd movie titled Jailhouse Rock. While in jail his cell ate was an older musician who had a guitar. This scene is after he was released from jail he became a popular singer, so this is his TV performance they are rehearsing. He did his own choreography, so they structured the dance scene around his mover. It is a good movie and shows his acting skills. His female co star, was killed along with her hubby on the drive home after filming. She was only 23 or 24, and Elvis never watched the movie due to her death.

Elvis did not have a dark side. He lived in different times to now with different values and expectations It all about context and Elvis has been loved from the time he released his first record , to date, over 7 decades. He was humble, honest, inclusive and always kind and loved his fans. He was so talented and could see talent in others , always giving credit where credit was due. He made 31 movies and 2 documentaries. Many were bubblegum pop for the fans, but King Creole, Love me tender, Jailhouse Rock, Charro,Flaming Star, are all really good. Thanks for keeping an open mind 👌🕺

And oh, by the way, you just watch the first music video in my opinion. Elvis was the very first musician that used music videos to sell records.
It was no MTV there was no cable TV and there was no Internet. That’s what the Elvis movies were all about - selling his music.

At the beginning of his career he was very controversial because of the way he moved..he could only be shot from the waist up when he appeared on tv shows..then he went in to doing movies and they wanted him to move because he sold tickets..jailhouse rock is one of his best movies and not a lot of people know that the lyrics were very very controversial because for the first time he spoke about the gay relationships...yes gay..in 1957...unheard of..take the line ..number 47 said to number 3 you're the cutest jailbird I ever did see I sure would be delighted with your company.come on and do the jailhouse rock with me..he broke a lot of barriers in his short lifestyle..I loved this man when I saw his first movie when I was 11 years old..I'm now 71 and I love him more and more every year. I dont give the haters any brain space of mine because they dont have enough brain cells worthy of that space I keep for positive energy..he was is and always will be the best the world will ever know...ever ❤❤❤❤RIP beautiful man ❤❤

Elvis was no saint he never claimed to be he was a human being with human problems like addiction to prescription drugs and womanizing even while married but he had a heart of gold and treated people who worked for him and knew him including his fans like family no matter their social status or color.
He peobably was the most persobable and down to earth, generous to a fault and made every sing he sang like he was singing just to you kind of artist! He was one if a kind! That's why so many love him even today no matter his faults!

They have not seen what you are seeing now for the first time. I was 14 when I saw Elvis on TV for the first time. He was my first pretend boyfriend. Love at first sight.❤❤❤

In my opinion, Those people who talk smack about Elvis are just envious of the Star that he became. And I am sure they have not taken the time to really find out about Elvis either. I am glad you are!! And I believe, they are jealous because Elvis has such a large fan base...all around the world". Elvis never took street drugs, only prescribed. Yes he over did it. I am sure he knew he was out of control. And I betcha, fear played a role in the life he was living. Trying so hard to please everyone else, but destroying himself a long way. Worried, that he would not be remember for what he brought to the table. But only what the critics choose to say about him. Like they say, we are our own worst enemy. I guarantee you, he felt like failure in some parts of his life too. Not living up to everyone else standards. Bet his critics dont have a 3rd of the giving heart Elvis had either for his fans, or for people .
Take a look at some of the kindness videos of Elvis, always giving or buying things for fans or for people he met a long the way.
Elvis is One Of A Kind & In A Class All By Himself. Their will never be another like him in this life. When I was a young tomboy, I thought Elvis was ok, but about 2 yrs later. When I went to my very first Elvis concert, that my brother took me too. OMG 😲 by the time the concert was over. I was on my brother's shoulder screaming like a mad person 😅. I asked my brother, omg what happened to me. Sis, Elvis is what happened. Been crazy for Elvis ever since. When I get moody days, I crank up the Elvis jam. 😊 But I pretty much listen to Elvis sing everyday 🎸🎶❤ Keep learning about Elvis & you will be a Elvis fan like the rest of us.

The best thing to tell those who claim he stole music, is to tell them his 1st hit and multi platinum song was Heart Break Hotel in early 1956. It was written for him and number 1 on several charts, which was highly unusual back then. He made so many TV appearances in 1956 and early 57, each time singing between 2 and 7 songs per appearances, he had to sing some songs by other artists, because there were no enough written for and recorded by Elvis yet. All singers cover other people songs. Little Richard said by Elvis singing a few of his songs, he made the song bigger and Little Richard bigger. Not one black singer back then who knew Elvis, had a bad word to say about him. Elvis was the whole package, looks, charisma, dancing and stage humor. Tell these know nothings, that Elvis spent the yrs from birth to almost 14 growing up and playing with black children, and attended both black and white churches. If they don’t believe you tell them to checkout the interview with Mr Sam Bell, who was interviewed for last yrs Elvis biopic. He said the black adults, including his grand mom, because Elvis said yes man, no mam and yes sir to all adults which was unusual in 1940s Deep South. The truth is out there all they have to do is read and watch interviews with blacks who spoke about him. The only one who has said he didn’t think Elvis was that great, was Ray Charles. Ray Charles was blind, thus he could not experience the whole package which was Elvis.

    • @texasgirl6000

It's impossible to hate a man that had such a big heart n did so much for many ppl..Spent millions on ppl he never knew n never took a write off on any of his charities..No one ever knew about all this until it was said ,after he passed away .Very humble, very compassionate. He still gives to his charities through his Estate.. Giving ppl less fortunate then others an apartment n paying a years rent plus child care until they get back on their feet ..Never understood how anyone can hate a man like this..Still giving from his grave...What more do ppl want from him..

Elvis did have a 'dark' side, but what happened to him can happen to anyone. He always had trouble sleeping, and while in the Army they had to pull all-nighters on post watch. To go all day and all night is hard, so some guys started giving him uppers to stay awake on watch. This led to Elvis to thinking that prescription drugs can do lots of good things...keep you awake, make you sleep, dull the pain, etc so over time he allowed them to control his life. The last two or so years of his life it got out of control and his system started to get toxic, thus the weight gain. He was only human, just like the rest of us. He was a warm, kind, and generous man with a god-given talent that he shared with the world. Let's remember him that way.

Yeah, watch this movie jailhouse rock. It is so good it’s really the first movie about rock ‘n’ roll, and no matter which genre of music you like best you can probably relate to his story. The next movie I would set your sights on would be king Creole look for a 4K version of the song Crawfish. He sings a duet with an amazing black jazz singer by the name of Kitty White. They were absolute fire on screen.

apparently, Elvis took his parents to a private screening of the film, and that was the last time he ever watched it because of what happened to his co-star Judy Tyler. She was killed in a tragic automobile accident just three months before the film was released.
“Nothing has hurt me as bad in my life,” Elvis said publicly about Judy’s death. “All of us boys really loved that girl… I don’t believe I can stand to see that movie we made together now, just don’t believe I can.”

    @stevepomeroy-rockin-pa-realtor ปีที่แล้ว +13

This was extraordinarily offensive to many people. This scene forever changed music, and American culture … both white and black and everyone in between.
The police and politicians would threaten Elvis with arrest. Local groups were threatening Elvis with violence, Even owners of diners or bars with jukeboxes that tried to play Elvis’s music were harassed and threatened.
The reason being is that many older folks down south especially, saw this music as a huge threat to their children. They blamed Elvis for juvenile delinquency and blamed him for moving around a stage like Black people did.
So you had the spark of the youth revolution of the 50s colliding with the civil rights movement of the 60s .
Then comes jailhouse rock -- and there goes Elvis in Hollywood on the silver screen parading in front of multiple police officers with batons having a great time and dancing and singing music lol
Elvis put on a hell of a performance acting … Oscar grade… and scored so many new fans of all ages that it was too late to stop it. After jailhouse rock was made, it was obvious that no one was going to stop Elvis Presley or rock ‘n’ roll from spreading around the country.

Elvis made 31 movies. this movie was called "Jailhouse rock" and this was a scene. He was sort of a bad dude in this one. He was beautiful however so most fans forgave him for being so mean. Ha. I saw this in real time. It was hilarious when he came on the screen in the first scene girls stood up and screamed. He was that popular. He was born in 35 and began his career in 1954. My father wouldn't let me watch him on tv. He was considered too sexual. He was banned on tv, and only shown from the waist up. You need to watch a short doc on his struggle in the racist 50's white stations would not play black music till he changed that. React to "Elvis Presley and the Black Community" the echo will never die. Then you will get it. Thanks great reaction.

    • @judyzeller3921
      @judyzeller3921 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

Without a doubt, those demons did start to show the last years, when he was a prisoner of his humongous fame, unable to leave Graceland except in the dark of night. As you learn about his life and the last few years, it is heartbreaking for his fans who knew his tender generous heart what that fame & seclusion did. But he never ever ever let his fans down. To the end, he gave his all, every last ounce of energy he had, on stage for his fans.

There's always going to be those people that are haters. They thrive on hate and tearing down others. The sad fact is that they don't know why. All they do is go by hearsay and they don't try to research to see if it's true or not. They honestly thrive on hate and negativity. That's why the world is still in the same state today that it was in when Elvis was alive. He's been gone for 46 years and it's still the same if not worse. Sad but true. Ever so often there's someone sent to make the world a better place, and then they're gone until someone else is sent to pick up where they left off. When if ever will people learn how to get along with one another? R.I.Paradise Elvis! 😇🙏🏽💖

It's a scene from one of his early movies which were really good before he got taken advantage of by his manager. It is widely regarded as the first music video ever.
But if you want to see him live even younger than this, there are several television appearances, and a few bits of really rare early stuff from right when he was barely breaking, in which you can see how nuts he really was earlier with his moves and his exuberance. But I would check out hound dog from the Milton Berle variety show in June of 1956 when he was like 20 or maybe 21. And then that led to just a huge backlash from religious and racist people, but on the other hand a lot of people loved it, and it's worth seeing him at this really young formative age.

The lyrics were certainly controversial and I still can't believe this was allowed back in 1957. Particularly the verse:
"Number 47 said to number three
"You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see
I sure would be delighted with your company
Come on and do the Jailhouse Rock with me"
Back then lyrics couldn't even hint at something as taboo as homexuality in prison and yet you can see that the lyrics made it into this version.

You are judging the up tight 50's with today, I lived in the 50's when I got married in 63 my husband had to explain what homosexuals were. No one would dare put it in a song. County jails were not prison. They were side by side compounds with women on one side and men on the other, with a big anchor fence between. Often relationships were forged at the fence. The two old guy from New York, who were Jewish guys never for a minute thought of a gay agenda. It was such an innocent time. You need to study history.

This was Elvis' third movie "Jailhouse Rock" (1957). His first two were "Love Me Tender" (1956) and "Loving You" (1957). After this one, he starred in one more called "King Creole" (1958), before going into the Army for two years. "King Creole" was Elvis' own personal favorite of all his 31 movies. When Elvis left the Army in 1960, he began making movies again, becoming the highest paid star in Hollywood throughout the first half of the 1960's.

I know my comment is very long but I hope you will take the time to read the entire thing. I think you will be glad you did. I have loved Elvis since I was 12 yrs old. I'm now 76. I have many books about him and I've learned as much as I can about his life. He actually died of a heart attack, NOT a drug overdose(as many people like to say)! He did not drink alcohol or do ANY illegal drugs. He took a lot of prescription drugs because he trusted Doctors completely. He suffered with many illnesses during his life. Born with Mega Colon, he had to use laxatives throughout his life. He had early onset glaucoma, which is why he sometimes wore sunglasses on stage, and in many videos he looks as though he's crying because his eyes are watering so much. It was very painful for him. He also was prone to bouts of tonsillitis, but refused to have his tonsils removed because he was afraid it would affect his voice. His dedication to his fans was unparalleled, and he would do whatever he could to avoid disappointing them! He had other health problems too, which you can read about in the book "Destined to Die Young" by Sally Hoedel. You will learn many things about his life, including his ancestry. A MUST READ for any Elvis fan!!! Please continue to react to Elvis, and thank you for continuing to stand up for him. He was a wonderful human being as well as a multi-talented performer. THE BEST EVER!❤❤❤

This is from his third movie “ Jailhouse Rock “ . He was in jail and learned how to play the guitar. When he came out he was discovered by a record company. That’s the plot of the movie. This was a TV show he appeared on in the movie. Still only 22 years old when the movie came out in 57 . Early Elvis at his best . Great film !!!

I have nust recently heard, that some people were remarking that wen he mentions 2 prisoners numbers, that the song was insinuating men being gay.. really, this was a good song, and he was a greater actir than he was ever given credit for! Snd i am 70,thanku!

First time visitor to your site, and I enjoyed your reaction! Yes, this was the feature song from Elvis's 3rd movie called - understandably - "Jailhouse Rock", made in 1957. Elvis was only 22 years old then, and his voice hadn't yet deepened so much as it had as he grew older. Anyway - this is probably one of his best-known songs even today, up there with "Hound Dog" and "Can't Help Falling in Love with You". And to this girl, he will ALWAYS be the best American cultural, immortal icon; the King of Rock 'n Roll! 🥰

I'm glad you're giving Elvis a chance. A lot of people trued to destroy him in the 50s and they're still doing it today. I'm a new fan since Baz's new Elvis film and have read over 30 books on him. The level of hate this man gets is ridiculous and so unjust

This is the rockabilly Elvis and everytime he moved his hips people freaked out. That’s why on tv they started filming him from the waist up. You need to listen to the whole Jailhouse Rock soundtrack. This was a scene from the movie Jailhouse Rock and has been called the first music video.

Check out if you haven't already Elvis and the black community or even the documentary Elvis All the kings men 5 off his closes friends the memphis maphia tell the story of elvis which wasn't always good but the guy was human like us . But for true fans it's a good documentary too

He may of had his faults like all of us but by God's grace and help he had a lot of good qualities good points too. A very nice guy a great singer and entertainer.
