Note that the camera only views him from the waist up, because his gyrations were to scandalous. But just a month later, he is back on performing "Hound Dog" & the camera catches his entire performance. The girls go crazy!

Elvis was and is the GOAT. He can do any type of music, rock, country, gospel, etc. You need to watch Make the World Go Away live in Vegas. Although this is a more country genre, everything he did was great.
Elvis became an almost overnight sensation, because he danced. If you watch the documentary Elvis & The Black Community Part 1, your will see Elvis around 1954 when he first performed, & for the first time, a singer danced while singing. That had never happened before. Singers stood still & sang, but Elvis used to say, if he couldn’t move, he couldn’t sing. Parents said it was vulgar & indecent so when he was televised, he was censored from the waist down, & only filmed from the waist up. It was incredibly frustrating for him, but he refused to perform standing still as he sang. Your Reactions to Elvis are always entertaining.
I've watched a lot of reactions and this one's in my top 3 maybe even #1. Very entertaining!! Elvis didn't really dance. He just reacted to how the music made him feel. Where did he learn this? He grew up in a church where moving to the music was a thing for everybody. He slipped into black churches and attended gospel shows. He lived near and in black neighborhoods as a child and loved to watch people singing the blues on their porches and went to black house parties to see them dance. When he moved to Memphis at the age of 13, he loved to go to Beale Street which was a hub for R & B clubs. Nothing was ever choreographed for his stage shows. The band had to be alert because Elvis was very spontaneous, and he didn't even know what he'd be doing from one minute to the next.
Yes to all that - and I believe he himself did the group choreography for this big dance segment! The GOAT of popular music (...and, IMHO, in looks and charm!! 😍 🥰💖 💘 💝)

In the 1950s, Elvis pioneered some of the most memorable dance moves, such as the Pole Dance, The Pelvis, and The Slide, but perhaps his most famous dance move is the Rubber Legs.
Alex Romero, a dancer and choreographer was assigned by MGM production executive Pandro S. Berman to work on Elvis' dancing for the movie "Jailhouse Rock” and also worked with Presley on three other films; dancing great Gene Kelly was on set as an observer while the scene was being filmed & was helped by dancer Russ Tamblyn, who worked with Presley on his leg movement. Due to an oversight by MGM production executive Pandro Berman, Romero received no screen credit for his work. Berman sent Romero a letter of apology that was published in Variety Magazine. (info from various sources)

They called him Elvis the Pelvis! Or Swivel Hips. They wouldn't show him below the waste on TV.
Yeah Elvis can dance when he first came out he would dance and swivel his hips so hard they would only let him be shown on TV 📺 from the waste up
The original side walk Michael take notice..🌲🕺🕺🕺
You gotta remember, everything has been done before, and Elvis was one of the first to do it all.👌😎
He did all his own moves and taught everyone else how to follow him.
When God created my friend Elvis he was just showing off. I can't tell you how much i love and miss him, there is not a day that goes by that i don't think of him and all the memories we made in 10 short years, his death knocked the wind out of me i have never been the same since, Elvis was the big brother i never had. He is also my guardian angel. Graceland is my go to place when it get's to hard to live w/o my friend i go there and walk around and remember Elvis and all the beautiful times we had together. He was the only person in my life that understood me and cared about my feelings and opinions. What it comes down to is we both needed a true friend and we were that for each other. Awesome reaction love to you from the one and only Memphis Tn. I called him Sexy Jello because of the way he shook his legs. He got a big kick out of it.

ELVIS THE PELVIS
Elvis the pelvis!
Duhhhhh!!!! His Moves is What Made him Famous!!!
Elvis, the Legend, was the original "Stanky Leg" without a doubt.
I'm like 90% sure this was a movie. Elvis starred in a ton of movies and sang in them. They were insanely popular. He was before the Beatles and was the biggest ever. He may actually be one of, if not the only person bigger than the Beatles
My favorite reaction of ALL. TIME.! LOL!
I watch his movie every year.
Remember the times!! He was SCANDALOUS!!!
In the 1950s, Elvis pioneered some of the most memorable dance moves, such as the Pole Dance, The Pelvis, and The Slide, but perhaps his most famous dance move is the Rubber Legs.
Thanks, man you're a great character.😀 You should see his 1968 version too. Yes, it entered No 1 in 1957.
Oh wow ok and thank you 🙏🏾
Elvis choreographed this whole production himself!
