    You honestly must work so hard to not only fish but produce content like this while worrying about framing, getting the camera on a tripod on the other side of the river etc. No idea how you do it, but much respect! You're content is insane!

    Josh,
    It is uncanny that your 2 locations are exactly my favorite locations on my favourite rivers. Thanks so much for not naming them.
    They get trashed so quickly, even though one is in wilderness area.
    A fishing magazine published one of these areas years ago and it took some time to recover.
    Thanks so much for your content. You put in so much effort and it is so great to watch, you feel like you are there.
    I have another location I want to explore further in the snowies.
    Can I send you a personal message to discuss?
    Much Appreciated,
    Geoff Watts

      Haha thanks mate. I think I can keep up this blistering pace of one video every 6 months. I love the Hyperlite bag, I was really hesitant switching from a more traditional structured bag but I don’t notice any loss of comfort. The advantage of being able to roll it down and use it as a day pack instead of taking a second bag for once I’m on the river is great.

    Nice work! Finally decent quality fly fishing video from Australia! I liked how in the first one you gave a little bit of detail about techniques and flys being used. I understand why you might not want to say which river you are on but I like details. Don’t need to know exact location, just name of river. Gives the viewer something to connect with. I like details. Techniques and flys and why. And where are you? Good job though. Really enjoyed the two so far. Obviously a lot of time and effort involved here.

    • @Joshtreds
      @Joshtreds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Appreciate the feedback Evan. I think I try to avoid too much detail in my videos because my personal preference in these sort of videos is not to drag them out with too much information. For me that effects the flow, but that’s just my take. I’m also no expert when it comes to tactics and casting so I’ll leave that to others. I’m at a level where I’m comfortable guiding myself.
      When it comes to locations, I’m a big believer in letting people do the work and to just explore for themselves. Half the fun is finding new places yourself by putting in the effort. Sure people have taken me to places that I didn’t know about, but that’s also part of building friendships with people who have the same passion. Some people won’t like that response, but I don’t think it’s my obligation to name locations, potentially crowding people’s favourite rivers and spots people guide for a living.

    Living in SA leaves me longing for a trip like this! Sure we have trout and some nice creeks which I'm not going to knock but we lack the large mountain rivers combined with great parks. Amazing video again Josh. Quality over quantity is always best! If the interest is there, personally I would love to see a "what I take with me" video or maybe a run down of your fly tackle etc...?
    Look forward to your next instalment mate 👍🏼

    • @Joshtreds
      @Joshtreds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think the flip side of that is that no matter where you live you can always be envious of the fishing someone else has. Always happy to answer anyone’s questions about gear. I probably don’t go into enough detail in the videos themselves because I’m trying to avoid lulls in the pace. Always interesting to find out what different people enjoy though

    Hey Josh just found your channel, you've got some beautiful camera work and editing. Really love what you've done. I've got massive respect for you doing this purely for fun and trying something new filming-wise. It definitely shows in the films as everything feels organic and not forced whatsoever.
    After seeing this video I really want to upgrade my camera. It's currently a somewhat unique look to have 4K slowmo on TH-cam, as those cameras are really up there price-wise. I'm shooting 4K 30fps on a Sony A7iii so slowmo is out of the picture for me, unless I downgrade the footage to fuzzy 1080p.

    Hey mate. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the film - some genuine laughs ("So calm and relaxing..."). Also totally feel you on the episodes front - I'm on Episode 6 I think and never realised how much work they'd be... but I love making them, so, long may it continue. Have a watch if you get a chance. Would love to know what you think: th-cam.com/video/74J4wFU7tiA/w-d-xo.html

      Hi Paul, glad you enjoyed it! Funnily enough I did watch one of your videos a little while ago as it came up as suggested content. I remember thinking how much I enjoyed your sense of humour. I’ll have to go through your other videos!

    Amazing fishing and locations!
    Surely you know but I always use a dry as an indicator even if it is too big or wrong shape/colour, always a chance it'll get taken haha.

    • @Joshtreds
      @Joshtreds  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks John. Yeah in a lot of instances I would use a dry for the indicator but the river was changing depths pretty frequently so I needed to be able to constantly adjust. I was regretting it on that one fish that took a swipe at the indicator though

    Great work Josh. That is one of my favourite spots too. I see the fishing hasn't improved since my last visit in 2018, but the stream sure is a lot higher and cleaner now. Great to see. There were wild dogs and feral pigs all over the place on my first trip there and that was a mixed blessing - that hill is a good test of a man as you know - and by pure good luck, we scored a lift out of there on the back of the rangers' ute after they had cleared their pig traps - WINNING !

    • @Joshtreds

      Glad you enjoyed it mate. There is tonnes of fish down there which is great, but they are mostly around or under one pound in size. But that's a huge improvement over the drought years, should make for really good fishing over the coming years. Haha the lift out with National Parks is the dream
