GTA 5 Performance on Linux (Ultra Settings) + Preempt Full

If preempt=full is used in the kernel parameters as suggested here discourse.ubuntu.com/t/ubuntu... we end up with even MORE FPS.
From the 100-110 FPS on Ubuntu 23.10
To the 140-170 FPS on Ubuntu 24.04
To the 160-180 FPS on Ubuntu 24.04 + preempt=full
So there is a 50+ FPS boost performance between Ubuntu 23.10 and 24.04. The average FPS on my previous video was between 90 FPS and 120 FPS, where as, on Ubuntu 24.04, the average is between 150 FPS and 180 FPS. Meaning, a 50% average boost to a 100% boost (if we compare the lowest FPS from 23.10 to the highest one on 24.04). Then on top of the previous boost, we get a n additional 20+ FPS with preempt=full
Note that the max is capped at the 188 FPS because the game will not allow higher FPS for some reason. So we have just literally hit the FPS cap limit several times here.

You are also able to use directx 11 instead of 10 without crashing. Pretty cool.

I play on ArchLinux, and I can say that the main menu is somehow 10 times smoother on Linux than on Windows.
Most of the time.
Sometimes it's just slightly more bearable.
As for my DE, I go with Hyprland, essentially on Wayland, using NVIDIA's proprietary drivers.
I run it with the Heroic Launcher because I got it when it was free on Epic, and although it required me to make a small fix script when setting it up, my experience has been basically equal or even better than on Windows.

how much ram does this needs? linux + the game

Normally if a game requires X amount you would need 50% or more of that for a stable game and system (independent of the OS). So in theory of this game asked for 16GB of ram, you would need 24 GB or more for a stable experience.

Is stutter on 4:36 caused by TH-cam?

No it was the game. When hitting the FPS cap, the game has a probability of freezing. It was supposed to freeze forever but on Linux it does a stutter. It happened twice. More information here gtaforums.com/topic/995778-gta-v-188-fps-limit-bug/
