So basically, Steve is from a clown planet, threw up during a perfomance of Cats: The Musical, and lost his role to his undertsudy. He was then banished to Earth and slept deep underground for millions of years. Somtime later Cesare, who was a puppet maker, got burtally murdered and forgotten about, and was chosen by whatever authority there is in the underworld to come back as a zombie to stop steve from running loose on Earth and contain him. If I'm right, then that's so sick, I love it. I also love how they both decided that themed food trucks were the best way to cover for their identities as an actual clown and zombie.
Seems Cesare wasn't just about catching Steve since he'd been at it for a thousand years and Steve only recently dug his way out (bonus footage in the Season 2 compilation reveals he dug his way out in modern times and immediately met Tim).

New wave of listens in-bound. Also, according to these lyrics, Cesare is from Venice, Italy. OLD Venice. Marionettes were the latest and greatest back in the 15th-16th century, being used in plays and such. So, uhhh, Cesare is old af. And fun fact: there's records of a "zombie outbreak" during that time. A crazy intense form of syphilis had people looking and behaving like modern-day depictions of zombies. In conclusion: Worthikids is a man of true culture. [EDIT] Another fun lyric interpretation: Those "friends" could just be more zombies, not demons or skeletons or anything, while the "faceless" could be clowns in general, not just Steve. This gives the impression that the zombies aren't in cahoots with other monsters like the ones in the Wire animation, which could be seen as the zombies being victims of their shenanigans and they want revenge, and that's why they have beef. Those other monsters also could have ganged up and formed some alliance to try to deal with the clowns as a group since they're clearly a problem to them. In short: The clowns may be the assholes here.

[EDIT] Another fun lyric interpretation:
Those "friends" could just be more zombies, not demons or skeletons or anything, while the "faceless" could be clowns in general, not just Steve.
Bro how does it feel to carry such a massive brain
@@niedzisiaj6645 it's might not be a good vs. bad story, it could be a rivalry that lasted for so many generations that they forgot what they were fighting about
ayo very good interpretation of the lyrics! it feels like lots of things are lined up now! great job!
oh also it doesnt say Venice, it says Venezia
@@invadercow1533 Venezia is how they say Venice over there. Like saying Aussie or Cali.
I like how the "I vanish with no traces" part is sung in a way that made it sound like the singing was being played backwards. Probably unintentional, but my ears would not hear it any other way until someone showed me the lyrics. It gives a cool charm to it.
This track hits like a truck going through terminal velocity
Or like a Butch Mechanism thats rammed through an embankment wall.
A food truck going through terminal velocity
@@weltyclover5311 Cesare never did find his parking spot
two trucks, even?
@@girlmeat-beth Maybe some muscles involuntarily flexing, hmm?
Lyrics:
In old Venezia I made my trade
Selling marionettes in my ramshackle place
On that hallowed night when I lost my life
All I remember was the gleam of the knife
I vanish with no traces
I got friends in low places
I wasn't missed or mourned, my body never found
But I made new friends here underground
I was chosen for a second chance at life
I am the watcher now I watch for all of time
Face off with the faceless
I got friends in low places
Oh, just another one in a long line of no ones
One of many replacements
With my friends in low places
I vanish with no traces
I've got friends in low places
Oh, just another one in a long line of no ones
Face off with the faceless
With my friends in low places
It’s in the description 👯♂️
Thank you
Incredible song. I think I can actually hear a bit of a tune like the one he did in "Third Little Piggy" in the beginning, it's incredible
Actually yeah. I can hear it too.
DUDE YES
Me too man
Yes the Duloc influences are great
"Face off with the faceless," could that be talking about his rivalry with Steve, since we haven't seen his face. Love this song, sounds great.
Steve is “faceless” in the sense of the “face paint” (his actual clown face) covering what we would expect to be a human face.
The dislikes are Cesare because this song blew his cover
doot
And now he's sticking out like a horseshoe crab in a freshwater environment.
Some people just have to hike up his jeans searching for lose lint
Simply incredible. I like how each song in the BTBCU(big top burger cinematic universe) hints that they are sung from the perspective of one of the characters.
cinematic universe is a term for when many stories exist in the same universe. Is there some other show besides bigtop?
@@Leto_0 I personally believe Wire takes place in the same universe
I like when "up" music, the big top employees looks up and the the season 2 music album is, the Zomburger employees looks down.
You don’t need to be dead/a clown to run a food truck, but it sure as hell helps
THE COVER ART IS SO ICONIC, i love how the dramatic light seems to emanate from those cliche flashlights you use when telling spooky stuff
Are Ian's animations now a vehicle for getting people to check out his music cause every single time I go back and listen to the song like 10 times after every single video
(this isn't meant to discount either of them, this is just a goof. Worthi is one of the most astounding artists I have seen on any front)
Good videos sell music, Steve. Good videos sell music.
i think hes just very very good at both things hdjsgdjdh
Yes
Yeah I couldn't stop watching Wire just because the song was a banger
Can we just acknowledge how genius the concept of this series is
love the scarier vibe, which matches well with what looks to be a more lore-heavy season so far!
Hitting us with the 1-2 punch out of nowhere!
every time you post something i'm like "wow this is his best stuff yet" and then a week or three later you drop some new stuff i say the same thing, you're absolutely crazy.
For those who don't know, this bop just got released on Spotify.
Thank fuck, I was waiting to add it to 3 different playlists, lol
I really do like this song. Its grungy, and has some killer lines.
I believe this is what the kids call a "bop".
certainly worthi of the title
This song gives a lot of hype for a guy who's just trying to run the nations worst Zombie themed Food Truck.
I found this like two nights ago while shuffling my spotify for another song, and the little TV show it's from was absolutely not what I was expecting it to be from LMAO
I’ve got recommended this video at least once every day for the past week.
Thank you algorithm gods…
came here as soon as I finished the episode, thank you for uploading this so soon!
I love this. Even after all those years, I still love it. And I will continue to love it. I will still come back to this song in my futur dark hours. It will cheers me up !
The YT algorithm actually came through for once. This song 1. is awesome and 2. got me into Bigtop Burger.
The one dislike is a clown.
Seriously this song slaps
I love how this album art is the opposite to the Bigtop burger one with everyone looking down over Caesar instead of up at Steve.
i actually cannot stop thinking about this song
After listening to this song every single day. All I gotta say is I wish there was an extended version.
Me too brother, me too
Really hoping to buy your music in a physical album in the future
Don’t we all
I’d spend all my money on a Worthikids vinyl release no joke
Only album i'd ever buy
I have been obsessed with this song for the past like 4 hours and I don’t think that’s about to change
Song has a different vibe after the latest bigtop burger episode.
This feels like a queens of the stone ages song, dope.
Oh hey, I just noticed how this cover art mirrors the cover art for UP!
- Cesare is at the bottom whilst in the art for UP Steve is at the top
- Everyone is looking down at the viewer/Cesare, whilst in UP everyone is looking.. well, up.
- the lighting! Theres a black background with lighting coming from beneath, but in UP theres a white background with lighting coming from above!
“Faceoff with the faceless” WAIT A SEC IAN HOW LITERALLY AM I MEANT TO TAKE THIS?? Omgggg you got me Pepe Silviaing with this lore
I keep coming back to this one
i like how the song gets more intense as it goes on (it starts “somewhat” calm but eventually devolves into just screaming)
really fitting for Cesares character.
Rly just saying the same praises as everyone else, but man, the absolute effort you put into your music, your animation, your STORIES is all so so good. It’s just dubs across the board all the time and please keep up the great work!!!
You know a song is good when MORE THAN HALF OF IT is the most replayed part
It's a great trick to have both this and "up" start with a similar bass riff. It lets you expect up before it pulls the rug out
I feel like Ian has gotten as invested in the clown-zombie lore as the fans have and I am here for it
This is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Ian’s really channeling his love of Oingo Boingo with this one
"Watch for all of time / face off with the faceless", "another in a long line of no ones". Well, a clown is faceless, it has only its costume. It sounds like Cesare was resurrected to keep Steve in check. I wonder when we'll meet his friends?
Yeah. There are lines in Down that call Steve the “Trickster God” and there are references to Cesare keeping watch for him, so it seems Steve is some sort of god that Cesare is meant to stop.
It's also implied that others have had the same role. I'm assuming undead don't die of old age, so like did the other watchers get killed somehow?
@@Helmic perhaps why Cesare is so paranoid about blending in? Unless their dynamic used to be *very* different, I can't see Steve killing the watcher. Probably freaked out humans.
i am HERE for worthikids lore taking an abrupt 180 degree turn into sinister eldritch deity hunting prophetic warriors
@@Helmic They probably just got sick of Steve's constant shenanigans and quit. lol
With the recent release of UP. I really hope Cesare gets the same treatment for his backstory.
Yeah, after almost 30 times re-listening to this song I came to a conclusion...Ian you deserve way more than what you receive, for real man, fantastic music, amazing animations. Dude you're awesome!!!!
“One of many replacements” makes me think he’s Steve’s understudy
I didn't think of this but I love the apparent narrative that Steve and Cesare are not just gimmick food truck competitors but are actually supernaturally bound as nemeses.
A few days ago, I started thinking about how I would be fine if they never made another season of Bigtop, because everything else they make is so amazing! Now though? I hope they set this up to be something really special, and I don't care how long it takes.
Get such strong Hellsing vibes from this and I absolutely love it. Such great music for such a great series. Amazing work Worthikids
I love the way this song sounds and of course the laugh is great
I would without a doubt accept an undead rival if they had a sick song like this playing
what deal with the devil did you make to create such great music, just about every song you pump out is on my playlist
He has friends in low places, Mamba
Satan needed a friend.
I need more friends that know puppetry and... viewpointing.
I never thought I would need a hour loop of a song until now.
Can’t wait to see this song be vital to the story too
I choose to believe that Cesare is literally the same character as the Cesare in The Cabinet of Dr Caligari
This song makes me think that Steve is a dangerous force of nature, with ceasare watching over him, making sure there's a counter balance to the chaos
I really like the fact that his song UP the cover art has all the characters for Bigtop burger looking up at Steve, and how all the characters in the cover art for Friends in Low Places are looking down instead, because their intro song is called DOWN. Small details that I appreciate
I love the entire soundtrack for Bigtop Burger so much. I'm back to obsessively listening to all of it, and so hype for the next episodes
Happy for Cesare and his retirement
I think Cesare's design's based of of a character by the same name from a 1920's film called :The Cabinet of Dr.Caligari". The resemblance is pretty close.
you're actually right!
This was a cool catch! I looked into the film as well and the other Zomburger employees are also references I think. Doctor’s real name being Alan and Frances both referencing two characters from the film: Francis and his friend Alan. Though my only guesses for where the name Conrad comes from is Conrad Veidt, a German actor who stars in the film. I could be wrong but seemed too close to be a coincidence.
Also Cesare Romero was the first actor to play the Joker, who's a clown. So there's some great irony there
this song makes me feel like i stand out like a horseshoe crab in a freshwater environment
I wonder if there will be alternate versions of this like he did with 'up"....
wasn’t there “down”? or am i misreading the question?
@@detestable There was Up, Cup (which was a Weird Al style Parody), Down which was about Cesare, and Up (Reprise), which was acoustic
There's an alternate arrangement in the opening for season two, I'm to assume that'll either be the reprise or Enemies in High Places
Another dub, as usual, bossman.
Struggling to defend myself from these dubs being fired at me through a cannon by a rival food truck, bossman.
Crashed this dub mechanism into an embankment wall bossman
Opening up my lab coat to reveal all these dub samples, bossman.
I just noticed that in the up cover the light is coming from the top and here the characters are lit from the bottom, a cool little detail!
Oh man, I now also noticed that on the up cover the characters are looking up, and here they're looking down
AAA IT'S JUST SO COOL AND I CAN'T CONTAIN MYSELF. THE STYLE, THE PRESENTATION, THE GOD DAMN EXCELLENT VOICE ACTING, THIS SERIES IS BLISS.
Also it's cool as shit that this series is animated in 3d BUT looks like ultra crisp 2d. Who knew all we had to do to make 3d look sick as hell was to just use nothing but the keyframes, but this genius figured it out while we were all busy doing hair math.
I've been listening to this song non stop for the past 3 days. At least 30 times a day for sure. Kinda reminds me of some songs from Hellsing ost
man died, came back from the dead and decided to make charcoal in a bun :skull:
Can't wait to hear the new version in full
words cannot explain how much i love this fellow's music c:
Man I fucking love how you use your guitar for these songs. It's such a harsh sound but you make it pair so well with the beat and your voice
