Feel Good Inc is from the second album, by which time they could get other rappers because of the popularity of the first album. Snoop Dogg appears on the second album. Blur actually hadn't fully broken up when the Gorillaz formed. In the year the second album Gorillaz album came out Blur also released an album, and Albarn released the album The Good, The Bad, and The Queen with a different band (that became known by the name The Good, The Bad, and The Queen). Shortly before this time Albarn had a very public breakup with the singer of Elastica, which led to a somewhat depressing Blur album (also one with a more electronic sound that was a step towards what Goralliz would be). Besides Albarn, the only permanent member of the Gorallaz is the cartoonist, who got famous with the comic book Tank Girl. So the cartoon aspect was always central to the band.
I don't think Blur actually split up. They just started doing their own side projects. I don't think there was any great rift. Good one. It was a fun live stream 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I remember requesting this song at one of my Middle School dances and I was told he couldn't play it because it has drug references. At the time I never indulged in any drug, so I argued that it was spiritual. The DJ laughed at me and kept doing his thing. I understand now, but this message is still relevant to this day and fuck that DJ because we need to learn how to expand our minds.
Others are right, the rappers aren't concrete parts of the group more like Damon and the artist Jamie Hewlett of tank girl are the only permanent members. They've worked with so many new artists,, old legends, groups, obscure artists as well. Gorillaz is more a group music project than a band.
