the ps3 era was fun tho I will admit I had more fun abusing the ps3 hardware via mods and linux then i did with a lot of games. (I had steam running on the thing)
@NoahGooder bad then we had good games with shitty controllers and now we have good controllers with shitty games. I was so hyped about the ps5 controller but nobody has developed anything interesting, just triggers go brrrrr.

Litteraly played my original copy of Budokai Tenkaichi 2 on my OG ps2 and controller and it worked almost perfectly.
But ps3 ? Jesus christ they are all fucked up beyond salvation. i also have a legit grave of ps4 controllers lol wich some are frankenstein monsters hybrids with other parts of broken controller lmaoooo.
I even have two fucking ps5 controller with the up arrow not working for whatever reasons so i decided fuck it and roll with it.
The real Resistance, was the controller.

@@thatboyakira4202 Pretty sure they are human. Or rather, humans infested by alien parasites which fuse Chimera and humans into what you fight. I remember a big floating fleshy blob in one of the games that was once human too - think it was once human.
The lore vid I watched ages ago said that the Chimera we see are not the true or real Chimera but rather the previous alien race that the Chimera infected or manipulated. The person from lore vid said that the Chimera maybe an invading alien race that bolster its military by converting biologic creatures into soldier of their own. This was like a 2016-2019 days I watch this stuff
Basically is that the chimera sometimes kidnaps humans and assimilate them into the ranks, and in the PSP version, they even explain what happens to the female chimera. Not to mention that the main character brother in the game gets infected in slowly turns into a chimera only to be mercy killed by his brother.
@@RealCapeCrusader sounds very familiar to the Combine in that regard - an unseen empire using modified slaves of races it's conquered to do its bidding and assimilate even more races.
Thank you for covering this. This series was so grossly underrated. A halo killer it wasn’t but it was entirely special in its own right, the co-op/competitive of the second game is still some of my favourite multiplayer to date. Ted Price is a bit of a shadow of his former ambitious self, a shame.
When gamers refuse to buy your more interesting games, you're forced to go down into the Marvel mines, never to be seen again. haha. After 10 years, Sunset Overdrive made a profit of $567 and that's not a joke.💀 Their games are still fun at least.

It’s a crime that Sony hasn’t released a remaster of the trilogy.
As with most things regarding Sonys franchise that responsibility lies more on Insomniac to make that call.
@@rexthewolf3149 not really. Sony owns the IP, not Insomniac. It would be nice if they were more involved, but it’s not necessary for a new entry or remaster.
@@mortaldoomfan9561 they own the ip but it would be insomniac would be the ones most like to make that proposal to do said remaster. When it comes to what games get made Sony is pretty hands off.
The real problem comes with the fact that resistance is the middle child of insomniacs games. Compared to their success with R&C and Spider-Man, resistance is the middle child’s who’s only purpose was to compete with halo.

@@P_D-px6iv Again It’s another example of Insomniac being busy in the past few years. Also sunset overdrive didn’t exactly sell well. So It was a very low priority compared to new Rachet and Clank or Spider Man which again are the two best selling series to come out the studio.
I still have the resistance trilogy on disk for the ps3, and i make it a point to replay the games yearly, I just wish they would remaster the games on modern hardware

I was literally playing Resistance yesterday, thinking how cool it’d be if Kevduit would cover it! So glad to see this awesome series getting some love! Me and my mom did a co-op play through of the first game together last week! Edit: what’s funnier is that this game came out the same year I was born, so that’s cool

Ahhh I remember the day I picked resistance from eb games because the title arr intrigued me then reading the description on the back during the ride home, gently removing the plastic cover and smelling that new game smell
I wish they would remaster the whole series. R2’s PVE coop mode was ahead of its time. Underrated series!

This trilogy is at the top of the list of my favorite games. It’s CRAZY how many good memories I have of it. It’s honestly on the same level of god of war in my mind.

@@zackdelarosa14 not really wrapped up. they showed that even with the re-building, they aliens are still around. they even had plans to make a 4th but sony decided to deny it because they wanted to push the last of us instead.

I absolutely loved this series when I was younger, my father got it and I INSTANTLY loved it. It's very underrated and I wish more people played it.
Most people watched this for the war between the humans and the chimera. I watched it for the war between Kev and his PS3 controller.

Oh my god, I have distinct memories of watching a friend play this back when I was a young and he was a slightly less young child. I’ve been trying to figure out what game it was for YEARS with no luck. Thank you so much Kevduit, I can finally rest easy now that this oddly specific personal mystery has been solved

God, I remember spending countless nights playing through this game with my dad as a child. He always played Nathan and I'd play the unseen second character and then Resistance 3 came out with coop and we played through that campaign. Memories I'll never forget
I played all the Resistance games and I loved them all , 1st game was survival and learning about your enemy , 2nd was basically were gonna stomp them out , 3rd was dear God that went south time to actually stomp them out /survival

They really need to bring this back as either a remaster or a complete spinoff for the playstation 4 and/or 5 so I can play it again with my dad like old times.

My brother & I LOVED the Resistance series, even the multiplayer, we played 1 & 2. Such a great series, although I'd like to try 3 sometime soon.
I believe they have Resistance 3 on their live service streaming platform on PSN. Can't recall what the service it's called but it lets you stream older Gen games I believe they only have resistance 3
You should try Retribution the PSP game too, it’s on PS4/5 now and it’s great. A bit limited considering but the plot is nice and it’s nice to experience more of the world

This is probably one of the first games I finished- I played through the campaign co-op with my dad and sister as I went through sending one out to die so the other can respawn with the next. One time we stayed up so late playing with my sister and dad that when my mom got home from work and we were supposed to be asleep he told us to run upstairs and act asleep so it looked like he was playing the game. Staple memory of my childhood. I was like 8.
