I stumbled upon this video when I've been STRUGGLING on this 3+ year journey and this definitely helped me SO MUCH! When you were like 'I want the life God has for me so I gotta be about that life' I was like "okurt" lol. Also, I appreciate your stance 'if he was for me, he's for me' attitude, as well as, 'if you focused on what you have to do within yourself, God will handle the rest that is out of your control''. I've definitely been stressing and I know God wants peace for me. You both helped me gain some more perspective and calmed my happy behind down lol. I remembered my 'why I'm doing this' and I like that your husband shared his experience without sounding fake or he trying to be a precha and "had to". You both sound down to earth and relatable. Took me forever to figure that out 😂 - so hopefully this helps! This video is awesome and was really fun to watch! What spoke to me was the part about how it’s inconsistent to say you’re sold out for God but leave him in the dusk for things that are truly trivial. I’m married, but that applies to so much!

What did you do with the guilt/shame associated with your past? (If you had any.) How did you trust God? What bible passages/verses inspired you to forgive yourself/allow God to forgive you? Why did your past not control you? Like...did you ever have thoughts of guilt for wasting all that time or hurting the other person? You were saying how sexual immorality blurred your vision... how did you get out of that mindset after having the habit of sex for so long? Why did you not give up to the temptations?
Hi Lily sorry for the tardy response I'm just now seeing your questions. How did I get rid of guilt? It took years of deliverance and learning and believing who God is and who He says am I. If He forgave me I had to learn to forgive myself. A lot of my strength and change came from hearing teaching and faith weekly. Going to my church hearing the sermons that built me up and taught me identity in Christ then going home and applying lose teachings to my day to day paired with lots of prayer. Yes I did have guilt but I had to let it go ask for forgiveness from God and move on. I got out of the mindset by getting rid of the old and replacing it with new mindset. So reading Gods word, reading books, listening to teachings from my pastors and just letting God work on me.
Anybody that listens to this, one of the questions was what do you do to suppress the feelings/urges etc. Suppress means to hide,keep silent about, conceal etc what this does is cause you to not feel like you can talk to your partner about how you're feeling as if being turned on is not nature and in the end some newlyweds experience having a hard time after marriage when starting to have sex. It is healthy to have conversations before leaving, playing video games , basketball etc and also in this time of being "horny" which is nature PRAY together. God made sex , he also made us with sexual urges and emotions. God said in his word be fruitful and multiple!
Suppress may not have been the best word the person asking could’ve worded it better. And our response could’ve been better but our choice was to deny ourselves of sex until marriage in order to grow as people, spend more time with God, rid ourselves of past trauma and soul ties…and so much more. We did talk about how we felt during the process, we did express our feelings, and we did communicate with God about the process which we mentioned in the video. Yes sex was meant to enjoy and God created sex but sex outside of Gods covenant and guidelines is deadly spiritually and naturally which is why we decided to abstain until we got married.

Hi Nicole! When I think about my boyfriend (now husband) I can’t remember if he said he’d “try”or if he said 100% yes when I brought it up to him. Either way I have him the opportunity and looking back he tells me he was just saying agreeing because he thought I wouldn’t follow through or I’d give up eventually...but I DIDNT! And not only did I stay consistent I made a believer out of him. He seen what my faith was doing for me and it motivated him to pursue not only me but God even stronger...but during that time I wasn’t looking back to see what he was doing I was focuses on my promise to God and myself....So honestly it’s what YOU do. Not what he chooses to do. And it’s up to you to decide if you’re strong enough or if it’s enough worth it to have someone tag along in this journey at this point. I think you know the answer better than me and your spirit has already given you the answer.
