Thank you for not reviewing the Superblast 2. Just kidding. I opened my notifications and got bombarded with at least a half dozen SB2 reviews. Anyhoo, thank you for another comprehensive comparison/contrast. I don't know if I would consider these two shoes, but I do enjoy your reviews, as always.
Thanks for always watching, Michael! As far as SB2, I haven't received a pair yet, so my review will come just in time for the Internet to be well and truly tired of hearing about them! 🤣
@@its_Matt_B_ LOL. Maybe make the SB2 review a 'SB2 & other NON race day shoes that will be great for marathons etc'. Plenty of people looking but may be getting caught in the soup of the top tier race day options & not actually need them.
Very concise yet comprehensive review of these companion models. As a fan of the Endorphin Pro and Speed series, and of Topo-esque anatomical toe boxes, these shoes are on my radar (the Speedworks more than the Elite Carbon). The heel cup does give me pause though, so I’m glad you mentioned it. And yeah, that white on white is fresh AF!
Cheers! Yeah, anyone who likes the Endorphin Pro/Speed owes it to themselves to checkout the Valkyrie. I'm with you on the Speedworks over the Elite Carbon; it's a great value for everything you're getting!
Very detailed comparison. I have not tried them out yet but I'd love to. Latest acquisition is Adidas SL2 (on discount for $100). So many good shoes, and I can run so much and I try to get 200-300 miles out of my shoes. This year, I on target to run most miles in one year. As of mid-year I am close to 200 miles over my mid-year checkpoint.
Yep, there are so many (too many) good shoes to try them all! We're really spoiled for choice! Nice going being so far ahead of your all-time distance. Are you feeling any more fatigued? I know 200 miles isn't too much when spread over 6 months, but It could make a difference.
@@its_Matt_B_ I am not feeling much more fatigued than last year. Most of new mileage is easy miles so recovery is not an issue. I think my body has adapted well. This year I am getting better sleep overall so it is helping a lot.
Got my Speedworks few weeks ago and I’m enjoying the experience so far. My only issue with it is that it gets a bit wobbly when I walk but otherwise has no issues even when I do my easy runs on it. The firmness is tolerable (I don’t like stiff shoes) and I might prefer this come race day just because it’s not too stiff.
Good to hear you're liking your Speedworks so far. About the wobbly walking, yes, I can see how they could be. They definitely wouldn't be my first choice as a walking shoe, but they excel at running so it's a net positive imo. The Speedworks are a great option for peeps that don't like the stiffness of a carbon plate, but still want the propulsion of a nylon plate!
Hi Matt thanks for the review, just the comparison i have been waiting for! I just bought online the TYR Elite Carbon in my size 44,5 Euro size, it is a bit snug/tight but still run in them, although used i can´t return them! I´m going to buy the Speedworks also online,my question is do the Elite Carbon and Speedworks fit the same or sould i size up half a size in the Speedworks? Thanks!

@@its_Matt_B_ Right? But on the flip side, your review will come out in time for the new color ways.
@@MyFatAdaptedLife That's a positive spin! I like it!

Great review! I love my Speedworks and will get the elite carbon as soon as budget allows
Thanks a lot!! We've got the holiday shopping season coming up, so hopefully TYR will have a big sale!
Nice option for training and racing. Good looks is a plus as well.
Agreed! It's good to have options, and TYR really nailed the design with both of these!

Why do I feel I’ve seen this already and it was more than 9 days ago?
Either way I have both and they are my favourite race/training duo.
I made this video for Road Runner Sports and they posted it on their channel before I posted it here! 🤣
@@its_Matt_B_ I thought I’d been transported into a new reality. I feel better now 😂
@@mrgroundhog9790 🤣 Nope! Same reality as ever!
Great review, really surprised by the location of the plate.. Usually flat plates stay up and here it is low.
Cheers! I imagine TYR's R&D discovered something specifically good about the plate placement!

Mine fit exactly the same. I did see someone else saying the Speedworks fit slightly bigger but after double checking, I didn’t feel a difference.
@@its_Matt_B_ thank´s for the help!
