My €300 STUDENT DORMITORY ROOM TOUR | Munich, Germany

  • Hi guys, in this video i would like to show you around my student dormitory room housing/apartment in Munich, Germany.
    Some infos about my room, it's located in the Hall of Residence Studentenstadt Freimann and the student housing area is just right in front of the Ubahn metro station (U6 Studentenstadt to be exact).
    It's a really convenient area to get around, it's only 1 station away to the nearest supermarket located just right outside the station called Alte Heide. It takes around 10 to 15 minutes Ubahn ride for me to get to my classes at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) Munich.
    For this room, i paid €284/month as of March 2020 (FYI prices of rent in this residence hall ranges differently depending on the building/unit). I really think for the facilities that i get and for this price in Munich i got a really good deal since i know how hard it is to find a rent in this city and how expensive it can get.

    It's great that you have your own kitchen and bathroom. I also love that you have a mirror on your big closet. Your room is perfect for a young woman. I hope that I will be smart and lucky enough to get such a good place with a reasonable price when I am moving there in August 2023. Thank you so much for sharing this video, wishing you a lot of love and success.

    • @Lavenially
      @Lavenially  4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      definitely! all the basic living costs that u need to pay are for rent, health insurance and like a monthly tax which is less than €20/mo. So it all depends on how much you pay for rent since accomodation price depends largely on where u live & what kind of room u get and also your lifestyle in general. But with €900 a month it’s definitely more than enough to cover all the basic living costs.

      @@Usman786 hi, i don’t really know much about part time jobs in Germany, but I believe you can find some info out there about the maximum hours a student can work a part time job in Germany and found some info about the standard hourly pay in the area. You can pretty much get a rough calculation and also count on how much you’d need to pay for monthly rent, food etc based on the average cost of rent in the area you intend to live in.

      The will be discrimination, no place in the world is free of it. But as far as I know, most of the Germans are friendly and open-minded people ^^ Maybe that's just my perspective as a native German but even when I encountered discrimination against someone, there where always people aside from me pointing it out and educating the person on it. :)

      Hi, i was here as an exchange student and was able to move in as soon as my study period began. I applied around 6 months before moving in. I do understand and have heard from others that the waiting period might not be the same case for everyone, especially when applying as a full time student since there’s always a waiting list to get a room here.

    • @Lavenially
      @Lavenially  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It cost me somewhere between €550-700, my monthly expenses mostly consisted of : rent, food, groceries, health insurance, internet & transportation. It obviously differs from person to person depending on each person’s spending and necessities. As for part time job, i have no clue about that, i think u can find some info on google.

    Hello Lavenially, My course will start in April 2021, could you please tell me how to find accommodation before arriving in Germany. I have heard that students do face a lot of difficulties in finding accommodation.

    • @baykusumsu
      @baykusumsu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You usually can't find a place before coming to Germany. My advice for Munich, the first month arrange a temporary accommodation, and in the meanwhile apply to all dorms you have found. You can check wg-gesucht, but finding a place from there usually needs you to be in town since all the ads come and go for the first week. Always try to be one of the first applicants.
