In this video, I am going to give a tour of how a student's apartment looks like in Germany. The basic amenities and furniture provided in the apartment. A glimpse of German standard living.

You might want to add that the cost for your apartment has to be paid monthly. In England you would always express the rent as a weekly amount. Students have to vacate the apartment over the summer as a lot of them are being used as accommodation for other purposes. Just so that people are clear about cost.
Yes Maria. You definitely have a good point. The rent paid here is on a monthly basis, deducted directly from one’s bank account via SEPA Mandate. The country here is on a yearly basis, and we got to prove our eligibility to stay (based upon our student status) with Immatrikulationsbescheinigung/ immatriculation certificate. 👍🏻
Im planning to take admission in Winter intake 2023 but can you please tell me the apartments for girls. And one more thing to ask can you please tell me the Universities those offer Media Journalism field's? Like the public Universities.

Just google ‘STW Bremen’ and you’ll get the application link there itself. Also, the process is same irrespective of nationalities.

this was a really good look at german apartments in bremen. I did a study in Bremen for 3 years (2020-2023) and walked past these exact apartments every day. For reference, mine was a similar size apartment costing around 680 euros/month, so that figure has probably gone up by 80 euros or so in the last few years.
Was the appartment offered from uni itself or you had to register for any dealer . If not then how u got the appartment ? Which site ? Would like to know ☺️
Yes we are also referred to the dorm by uni. But again it depends upon the availability and also FCFS basis. Otherwise the simplest way to search a student’s apartment in any city(if available) in Germany is open Google and type - STW city name, for example i live in Bremerhaven so it’s STW Bremerhaven for me.

Haha yes. Actually it’s a mixture of both. I found my wohnung decent clean and even maintained it further. I have seen dorms in other cities as well, they were as good as hell. 😬

There are multiple options available for you in Bremen. You can apply based upon the location and price factors. Also, apply as soon as possible because they provide rooms on a FCFS basis.

I’m not sure about the language student though. But any student can apply for the Wohnung/apartment. I being a student of HS Bremerhaven, stayed in STW Wolfsburg for 2 months during my student job in Wolfsburg.

My brother and sister siblings are coming to Germany Berlin for university taught in English medium. There are going to get a apartment with a double bed bathroom and kitchen which is about 550 euros for both.

Yes absolutely. You can email to Studentenwerk and they will make provision for the same.

I didn’t know much about this before your comment. But after doing some research I found out the same. We as a non EU resident and student, have restrictions on this. I have already dropped an email to my city Ausländerbehörde, will let you know about the update. :)

No buddy. You need an Immatrikulation certificate at the time of application for the room at STW. The waiting time usually depend on the vacancy and it’s completely FCFS. Apply for the room as soon as you get an admit.

240 euro, the German way of writing would confuse. We here write 240,00. The comma is actually the dot for us.

Thanks buddy. As of now I haven’t seen or heard of any discrimination towards Indians or any foreigners. We are being treated the same way as others. Also, here the knowledge of German language plays a very important role. Even if you are not fluent, just being able to convey your message does the job. Above all, be nice to people and they will be definitely nice to you. 🤗❤️

It’s better to carry a travel adapter from the home country because it is available here but a bit expensive. Yes we can find it on Amazon.in. Costs around Rs 300-400.

No buddy. We get all the utilities that you saw in my apartment(same bed, almirahs cupboard, study table and chairs). I didn’t had access to any single room apartment and so i just crashed into one which was undergoing renovation. Thanks for mentioning buddy, I’ll add this in the video description so that everyone can get this information also. :)
Some student appartments will have the option "furbished" or "unfurbished" in the application. So, if you want them to provide you with an appartment with a bed, cupboards, table and chair, make sure to check the "furbished" option.

It’s little cheaper than this(maybe 10-20€. I’m not sure though). Coz you’re room gets smaller.
