I found this vlog really nice because I really want to study at TUM. What do you think are some of the privileges of studying in this prestigious university?
Haha you make it sound like sooo special. I would say it's a great university which has connections to partner institutions and companies all over the world. However when it comes to the curriculum other German universities should be just as good.
Sir, I'm a PCB (bio group) student in 12th. I want to study bachelor in CS in German taught program. Is it possible? For this what should I study alongside studdienkolleg to be eligible for CS course ?
As a foreign student I'm a bit interested about German universities. Do you also do group/team projects or maybe is it obligatory to have a student club? What is Übung and Seminar?
How much time you spend in your university while being physically present there and on which weekdays? Wie viel Zeit verbringst du an deiner Hochschule, während du dort physisch präsent bist und an welchen Wochentagen?

For applying in computer science for Bachelor which option to choose from course list as there is not defined directly computer science i have seen an option for computational Engineering. Looking for the clarification which option to choose at tum to study as computer science student there.
It doesn't matter to be honest. Most courses support all three platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux). Otherwise they will provide you with a virtual machine image. Also you will get access to Linux servers at the university. So just use what you are most comfortable with.
Hello, thank you for this video (I know it's been three years) 😅 So, my friend would be going to Germany in September and he is into online trading (forex, stocks, etc...) Would it be legal of him to take that up as a non-EU/EEA student in Germany?
Hii! Ive been doing more research into universities in Germany and I love the course they have to offer in this one. Is getting into TUM very competitive?
Also Do you by any chance know if I have to take the IELTS or some kind of college entrance exam if I graduated from a high school in america to apply for a bachelor's program in this university?
Well it is competitive to an extent but most programs don't have a fixed number of spots. So generally the idea is that you don't need to be the best student but a good student in high school. Some programs even have interviews in case you don't have the grades but can show your interest in the subject.
For the Bachelors programs the admissions usually close by mid July (this year they extended it to end of July). Some programs that are not as competitive (e.g. physics) have admissions up to mid September. Make sure to check the TUM website for the program you are interested in. For all of the programs you have to get an official translation of your transcript to German. Also you need to make sure your high school diploma is considered equal to the German one. If I remember correctly this is true for the US but make sure to check that. For the programs that are taught in German (unfortunately most of them for undergrad) you also need to hand in a proof of German proficiency. Apart from that you just need your regular things like motivation letter and resume. Most programs don't require any letters of recommendation for undergrad. Feel free to ask more questions! I hope you get into the program you really like.
Oh I misread this as May of 2021...If you graduate in 2022 I would consider learning German because it will give you more flexibility in terms of subjects and universities. It might be intense but I know a few friends that got the required level within a year. Of course once you enter university here it might still be tough but after about another year you will feel just like any other student.
hey, hey! i just decided to apply for bachelor's degree in TUM informatics but somehow I am afraid of competition. can you suggest me how can I boost chances to get a place? in addition, how about the interview phase, was it hard? what type of questions are usually asked. ps. thanks for the video!
For the Bachelor's program it's all about the grades and German skills. If you went a school which is officially recognized in Germany you should be fine. Otherwise there is Studienkolleg to prepare you for German universities. For the questions it's all about your motivation, first experiences of computer science, knowledge of math and whether you have an idea what the degree is about. So in general things you would know if you are curious about computer science and TUM.
i have a question , i didn't find on there website a bachelor degree in cs i only found masters and another question here in my country the bachelor degree is usually 4 years and in germany it's 3 years and that making me worrying that it will affect me in job opportunities so it that true and what is the explanation and thank you
The Bachelor degree is taught in German that's probably why you couldn't find it. The 3 years is common in the UK and some other European countries so I don't think it would be an issue.
Hello! Can you tell me when it was shot? I heard all classes this summer semester is being held online? I got into MS in Informatik at TUM and am going to join this WiSe, but I think most classes will be online.
Hey. From what I heard they are going to hold as many classes as possible in person. BUT if you don’t have a visa they said that international students won’t get new visas until this whole pandemic thing clears up so depending on that it is possible that you might end up having to take classes online.
@@TUMunich Yes the current stance is that next semester will start online unfortunately. That being said it also means less hassle for international students...
Hey can u plz tell how many students are there in robotics in TUM , i am an Indian student and want to come there but i need to know how much competition is there .... Plz reply
We have several different robotics related degrees. Which one are you thinking of? Also TUM accepts students with good grades but does not rank them for application. So application is not too competitive. Inside TUM it can be fairly competitive though if you want to get really good grades...
I don't know any of the students. If you look at the website they accept less than 20 students each semester. So it's probably the most competitive of all CS degrees TUM offers...
So when did you gave proof of language proficiency after or before they accepted you?And how can I be sure that I will get accepted because I do not want to learn german for nothing(is there a way to learn german after getting accepted).Thank you in advance
Hm if you don't want to work in Germany afterwards there might be places better suited for you. Personally all of my friends are at least thinking of working in Germany so they wanted to learn German. For German taught programs you need to show German proficiency in advance obviously. How would you understand the professors otherwise haha? For English programs there often times is no German requirement. Also if you would like to study in Germany I would apply to more than just one university...
@@mrborat2493 Compared to most other countries it's rather easy. But it just depends a lot on where you are from, which subject you are applying for and whether it's bachelors or masters. For me being German Bachelor's application in informatics was rather easy. Students from foreign countries had to translate their transcript to German. People from countries with lower education standards have to go to a one year college first...For Masters application people from tum get a big advantage if they stay so it will also be easier. I heard it's a bit more competitive if you apply from another university. But bear in mind most subjects don't have a maximum number of accepted students. I think that should tell you how "hard" it is. Yes you have to be good but not necessarily the best to get into tum...
@@developandplay That sounds great, I'm from Spain and I want to access to bachelors in electrical engineering, CS or something similar but those are my first options, I think I can get at least C1 in German before applying so I hope that makes things easier. Is it hard to find a job as a student?
@@mrborat2493 I think applying from Spain should be very straightforward. Just get your grades translated and submit that language proficiency certificate...Other than that you will be treated like a German student...I have a few friends from other parts of Europe that went through that process. If you study one of the subjects you mentioned it should be fairly easy to find a part time job. I personally worked part time in software development ever since starting university. I would recommend however to wait with working 1-2 semesters so that you have a better idea how much effort your subject requires...

Yes it will be hard. But I have a couple of friends that did exactly that. Some of them needed to take an extra year at university but that's no big deal. I need one as well haha...
@@HardikKundalwal Just one year longer in university. Yes I'm a German native but I went abroad and did lot's of internships on the side so that's why I also need an additional year in uni. As I said it's no big deal. Most students need one semester longer and a few like me even a year...
For Informatics Master there are quite a few course requirements if you don't fulfill enough of them you will get invited for an interview instead of being admitted directly. So it's definitely possible. That being said there are more interdisciplinary CS related Masters programs. For those there are usually fewer requirements.

I thought the course was entirely in English!
But, the slides are being in German.
hey, i just got admitted and was wondering if a mac would be okay for informatik?
Congrats!
Yes your operating system doesn't matter. Some professors are Linux fanboys so ypu might need a VM in your second year...

Sir, I'm a PCB (bio group) student in 12th. I want to study bachelor in CS in German taught program. Is it possible? For this what should I study alongside studdienkolleg to be eligible for CS course ?
One day I will be there soon......
does the university have bachelors in computer science? (in english) if yes, what are the requirements after finishing 12 grade in another country?
As a foreign student I'm a bit interested about German universities. Do you also do group/team projects or maybe is it obligatory to have a student club? What is Übung and Seminar?
How much time you spend in your university while being physically present there and on which weekdays?
Wie viel Zeit verbringst du an deiner Hochschule, während du dort physisch präsent bist und an welchen Wochentagen?
What was your part time work at Amazon? Btw. nice video.
Thanks. I was interning there as a Data Analyst and had a great time there.
Technical university of Munich ❤️🎓
I've searched every corner of tum website and still can't find a bachelors in computer science. Please can you help
It's called Informatics in Germany.
Sehr gutes Video, vielen Dank!
IF you dont mind, how did you get in and your pre uni qualifications.
Nice vlog and could you tell me the process and requirements to do masters in computer science in TUM.
I added the information in the video description. If you have more questions feel free to ask.
For applying in computer science for Bachelor which option to choose from course list as there is not defined directly computer science i have seen an option for computational Engineering. Looking for the clarification which option to choose at tum to study as computer science student there.
Does TUM have computer science for bachelor?
Yes however it's called Informatik and mostly taught in German.
Hi, pls clear a confusion 4 me. Inside the classroom the Lecturer is given in English language or in German language ?
Hello... is it recommended to have a Macbook or Windows at TUM for Informatik
It doesn't matter to be honest. Most courses support all three platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux). Otherwise they will provide you with a virtual machine image. Also you will get access to Linux servers at the university. So just use what you are most comfortable with.
My dream institute 😄😍
Is that THE LIV library you were sitting at?
TUM is my dream uni!!!!!!!!
Hello, thank you for this video (I know it's been three years) 😅
So, my friend would be going to Germany in September and he is into online trading (forex, stocks, etc...) Would it be legal of him to take that up as a non-EU/EEA student in Germany?
Sorry for the lot of questions but also when do you think I should start applying for universities?(I graduate high school in May of 2022)
Well it is competitive to an extent but most programs don't have a fixed number of spots.
I am starting at TUM this semester
i have a question , i didn't find on there website a bachelor degree in cs i only found masters and another question here in my country the bachelor degree is usually 4 years and in germany it's 3 years and that making me worrying that it will affect me in job opportunities so it that true and what is the explanation and thank you
The Bachelor degree is taught in German that's probably why you couldn't find it. The 3 years is common in the UK and some other European countries so I don't think it would be an issue.
Hello! Can you tell me when it was shot? I heard all classes this summer semester is being held online?
I got into MS in Informatik at TUM and am going to join this WiSe, but I think most classes will be online.
I recorded the video one year ago. Hope we can all return to our courses in Fall.
That being said it also means less hassle for international students...
amazing
Do you think i need GRE for applying to master in computer science and is it diffcult to gian accept of this uni do i need high GPA?
Hey can u plz tell how many students are there in robotics in TUM , i am an Indian student and want to come there but i need to know how much competition is there .... Plz reply
We have several different robotics related degrees. Which one are you thinking of?
Also TUM accepts students with good grades but does not rank them for application. So application is not too competitive. Inside TUM it can be fairly competitive though if you want to get really good grades...
Hey Man! How hard is it get to Masters in Software Engineering (English Taught Course)? Do other students speak English over there?
I don't know any of the students. If you look at the website they accept less than 20 students each semester. So it's probably the most competitive of all CS degrees TUM offers...
Hey, how do you see how many students are accepted per degree?
@@developandplay Okay, thank you my friend and good luck with your studies.Tschüss!
please make mor detailed video about your programm
Thanks for the video, can I ask how was the accessing process, is it hard, what did they require, I'd like to know your personal experience
You mean application?
@@developandplay yes
Quick question, I am on B1 level german and planning to start my undergraduate in mechanical engineering next year, that mean I need to do b1-c1 in 9 months or so..I'm just curious are there any international people going their bachelor's in German taught being Ausländer? And if yes, is that really hard? Looking forward for your honest option. Anyway man I love this VLOG!!
Next year in TUM *
Yes it will be hard. But I have a couple of friends that did exactly that. Some of them needed to take an extra year at university but that's no big deal. I need one as well haha...
@@developandplay Extra year after or before the 1st year? Also aren't you native? You sounds native though.!
@@HardikKundalwal Just one year longer in university. Yes I'm a German native but I went abroad and did lot's of internships on the side so that's why I also need an additional year in uni. As I said it's no big deal. Most students need one semester longer and a few like me even a year...
@@developandplay Is that studienkolleg you're talking about? Or like an extension year to balance studies?
In the Informatiks Major, do we study any Maths? Like calc, linear Aljab and others?
Yes you will learn that.
Why when I'm typing computer science degree in there bachelor program
Nothing's pops up
Because it's called informatics in Germany.
If you look closely at 3:30
Awesome video. May I ask you a question? Can you go to TUM if you're only 17 years old?
Yes you can. One of my friends started at age 17 just like you.
What about Informatics Master degree? I am studying major from engineering but it is not CS. But I have good projects that I can show them.
For Informatics Master there are quite a few course requirements if you don't fulfill enough of them you will get invited for an interview instead of being admitted directly. So it's definitely possible. That being said there are more interdisciplinary CS related Masters programs. For those there are usually fewer requirements.
Bro do they have English lectures for comp science engg course? And is it mandatory to study German??? Pls reply brother
