I want to share where the name Gentleman allegedly comes from... I am a falcon main, and I visited Japan 5 years ago and spent some time with S-Royal who in ancient melee times was the best Doc player in the world. I will recall what he told me as best I can: He said at some event, Isai and an old Japanese falcon player called Gentleman had a competition to see who could do the most gentlemans in a row. The winner could name the technique. Guess who won 😂
Never in a 100 years did I think watching sm64 videos for absolutely no raisin years ago would help me understand how to mentlegen with captain falcon.
By the way the only way I play captain falcon is with true wavelands. Meaning I hold pure horizontal control stick angles when I waveland. Because it maximizes swag and is therefore the only way to play captain falcon. Sometimes I even wiggle out of hitstun to perfect waveland instead of teching. Because it's more swag.

Gentleman is a good name for it, because it implies a degree of calm restraint. You're resisting the primal urge to just flail your arms like an animal. You're a dignified gentleman, you've given three hits, and that's enough.
Falcon is the most low-tier feeling high tier I've ever played but I actually really like that, I think falcon is the most balanced character of Amy fighting game honestly he can beat any character but because he is one of the most gimpable characters he has some low tiers that do surprisingly good against him, roy falcon literally isn't even that bad for roy, not saying he wins at all roy still sucks but if you've ever played that matchup from Roy's side you know it's doable
@@justforshow1993once you learn counter laser interactions and smash DI the falco match up is not that bad imo. Yeah it sucks that you can die from one opening but so does he, and the fact that he can die at any point off stage balances the punish game between the 2. Imo, fox is truly a nightmare for falcon, sheik might be even worse but at least you can combo her more or less.
@@justforshow1993 200+50 IQ: Use as many Falcon Kicks as the stupid bird shoots lasers. This will condition the Falco player to be more honest now they know they're dealing with a psycho. Mix it up with double jump aerial drifted knees to mess up his shield timings if he starts getting froggy shielding kiccs. Falcon Kick IS a projectile.

I'm pretty sure captain falcon's side b cancel happens when his environmental collision box (ECB) collides with a wall during the move, not the inert hitboxes. The ECB is whats used to determine if you land on the ground, hit a wall, hit a ceiling, or bump into another player.
Was thinking this would finally be a deep dive into the phenomenon of spectators finding falcon combos somehow cooler than sheik or samus combos simply because his moves look more "visceral" or "manly", But what we got was also nice.
I love videos like this, keep it up! Falcon has more fun stuff too like the guaranteed ICG setup with falcon kick, instant walljump from ledge on FD, and the backwards walljump! Also regular mario can lemon drop too, not just exclusive to doc.
I have had an argument with a few people about the best ariel in the game. I think its falcos down air, but the other 2 choices are marth fair, and falcon dair. The reason I say falco has it is because the move is very fast start up, can be used as a kill move, a gimp move, and a combo move. It has incredible hit stun, and is an actual spike that cant be meteor canclled and how long that spike hit box lasts is insane.
I say falco dair is most busted move n game becuz not only wut u said but is sex kick that beats CC also not 2 mention has good landing lag 2 shield stun ratio
I mean The test is to go down the roster, and one by one decide which move every character on the cast would prefer Various properties of the characters will make some prefer one of the other, but in general, the one they want most often should probably be the best.

A button press is the one motion of pushing in the button, release has nothing to do with it. Some games tell you to press and hold for certain things, and you'd look like an idiot if you released the button just to hold it again. Things usually activate at the press of a button-like moves using the A button or jumping with X/Y-weird that they do it when the button is pressed in and not on release. Just because you can measure something with the release of a button, doesn't mean people get to be lazy and call it a half-press.
I just like the way green falcon looks lol. My method for gentleman is to input a directional input(tapping down or starting a dash) before releasing the 3rd A press. It's the most consistent I've managed
as a falcon player, no, please do NOT unfreeze stadium. the second anyone hits me with an infinite that's a borderline wobble i just don't wanna play anymore. 12:30 made me want to keep it frozen
I know this has nothing to do with the video, but I love Unfrozen Pokemon Stadium as much as I love Captain Falcon in Melee. I might be the only one who genuinely likes Unfrozen Stadium, and if so, I’ll be more than happy to die on that hill. Also, great video man, #freestadium.

You can use the Doc style Lemon Drop with Marth but it isnt dash attack, you use running d-tilt instead.
