Summer is best for pruning i think
I do love the nets❤
Fantastic harvest mate !
Thank you, Brett! There's a few more bowls on the tree for next month :)
Yup, they survive just fine in zone 7. I have two trees in zone 7b. They don't grow much and have never fruited, but they're still young
One of my favourite, cant stop eating them when i first knew about its existence. I love the 1/2 green and half brown ones. Its best taste for me. Well done.
Same, half/half Crunch!
@@RealLifeFruitopia not crunch it's the taste difference 😋
Oh my goodness ❤ it George.
Snacking on them now :)
I saw a lady who had thousands of jujubes on her tree. She boiled them in a big pot for a few mins and then put them in the dehydrator. Apparently it's soft and chewy with this method.
We have ours in a ziplock bag in the fridge, good for 3 months, if they aren't already had.
Dried jujubes are to be very healthy to eat, search on it and you'll know. We use it for healthy herb soups and deserts.
@@Sunset-kx9eb We never knew about this fruit until 50 years of age. We eat them on their own as a snack food, with no grandma to teach us otherwise :)
My Chico is only 2 years old and it already delivered 300g of fruit!
300 grams or kg??
@@RealLifeFruitopiag, it's only knee high and in a pot lol
I recently bought some jujubes from the shop ; they had a bitter taste towards the core.
Nice harvest! I’m curious. What fo they taste like? It’s looks a little like a small apple.
Taste like apple injected with honey.
@@RealLifeFruitopia ohhh, so cool! VERY interesting!
I've never heard of those? They look like little apples inside.. I thought the nets were for the birds? We don't have fruit flys that bad.. we have deer that eat half our tree 🤣😂🤣😂

How big is your net?
6m x 6m
You can pickle them & store them in Mason jars for future use
Nice!
@RealLifeFruitopia you're welcome you gotta find ways of keeping up wid all of that fruit your girls are producing
just go for it you need the protein lol - pears need bench ripening and you know soon enough those bastards - cover as soon as pollinated - i only net my golden delicious in early December - hope I get lots soon - learn to make cheap apple cider vinegar traps - no flys now only grubs falling to hibernate until spring - is this global freakin warming Ha Ha - had a paw paw today not many this year no QFF
Jujube are not tropical. They need a winter to fruit well and they dont love humid summers.
The Chinese jujube enjoys a diverse range of climates from temperate to tropical, whereas the Indian jujube is restricted to warmer subtropical and tropical climates. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jujube
They are native to india too , most of india never gets cold
