    I find fog helps to see in black and white because it tends to mute colour.

    What a beautiful landscape you were in! Subtle, understated, maybe more emotionally accessible, at least for me, than some of the places that are so super dramatic. Thanks for making this! I found it really useful. There are landscapes similar to this where I live and photograph. Really appreciate it!

    What a lovely excursion. The fog made everything serene and peaceful. You got a lot of great images on that trip, and I saw a few more that would work well in color. One thing I will take issue with...I would have taken the backlit side of the first structure to get the door and roof, then worked the exposure in post to bring out that side (or just blast the exposure). Let the background blow out - it is fog anyway. Worth a chance, perhaps?

    Where is this?

    And I used to photograph as much as before, and then I realized after 33 years that I had wasted all these years of my life. I realized how pointless this is.

    • @49Bob49
      @49Bob49 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, maybe. But wait, let's see your photos. Could be it's not that bad. Don't be so hard on yourself. Maybe you've had 33 years of beautiful walks in the country, or city. Looking out, saying to yourself "there's a picture here somewhere". Searching for it, snapping the shutter, getting home to develop and print(or taking it to the "Fotomat"). Seeing the result, enjoying it and thinking about the next shot, the next walk. On a geological time scale, yes, life is pointless. But put all those moments, experiences, joys, heartaches together. That's the point.

    • @chiefdispatcher
      @chiefdispatcher 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@49Bob49 Therefore, after all these years, I realized that I was not spending all this time on something serious, not on something really worthwhile and useful for myself, but only on useless emotions that did not benefit me or my loved ones. I made sure that no one needs it. It all looks like self-deception.

    • @pixeldoc7119
      @pixeldoc7119 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chiefdispatcher I am so sorry that you feel that emotions are “useless”. I am nearing the end of my life, (no, I’m not suicidal), and I feel that the emotions that photography has exposed me to are some of the most beautiful experiences of my life. And I feel quite certain that at least some of my photos will elicit emotions in others once I’m gone. Emotions are such a gigantic part of the human experience.

    • @chiefdispatcher
      @chiefdispatcher 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pixeldoc7119 Maybe it's because for you it was like entertainment, but for me it was work for many years.
