I can not wait to see this compared to the RS 4.0. After the Scud, my second favorite car. Great call owning one of each. Interesting the huge price difference between the 2, I suppose it’s the rarity of the 4.0 that commands such prices?
Great video! I also have a Scud, basically the same spec as yours. Found this when considering swapping for a 458 Speciale; so, maybe bring one of those? Other track cars, Noble? AMG GTR / SLS? Any of the black series? Performante? STO?

We have featured a 488 Pista on the channel already, in Portugal. A lovely looking car but the addition of the turbos rules it out for me. I prefer a N/A V8 or V12 in a Ferrari.

I get the emotion and drama of the scud but track days I don’t see any better then the speciale… I can’t afford either but been privileged enough to spend time in these amazing beasts…
True, although you could similarly argue that a Pista would outperform both on track...

Compare is with a Lamborghini gallardo squadra corse. Is also a light weight version and from the same area as the scuderia
The Gallardo is amazing too but not even close, the Scuderia is way more precise, more direct, more well made!

Period correct & track focus cars of the same era should be:
1. 997.2 GT3RS
2. 430 Scuderia
3. Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera/STS/Squadra Corse
Compare the Scud to the Speciale to the Pista. I own all 3 . All great. All different.

@@888mf4 I agree, I prefer the N/A V8s. It is just nice to have the 3 Special Lightweight Mid-engine Ferraris in the collection. The Pista is probably the best driving dynamics.
one of the Enzo owners from a track day we chatted, he has had 2 Scuds and bought a Speciale said he preferred the Scud and actually is his favorite car. Unsolicited comment from him he went out of his way to tell us with diff. Ferraris.

Not True. If you have a decent salary you can take car finance.
Compare with an AMG car. That would be very exiting. The GT family i belive is of the fastest serial produced cars around track ( top100)

It's an awesome looking car. But the 458 italia/speciale is the ultimate NA v8 before it went to turbos.

I don’t think you’re claiming the Scud is better than the Speciale pound for pound is that controversial. Money aside Chris Harris called it the best lightweight special. I still laugh out loud every time I get the “Scud thud” shift.

I've seen way too many 458's and the design is cheap but that's my opinion.
The numbers suggest that there were 3000 Speciale produced.

A proper sports car needs to be manual.
This is a single clutch gearbox and feels similar to a manual.
