All this talk about regular mowing, every 2nd day etc, to me this boosts the argument for the robot mower. The only downside is that the don't stripe. But they mow daily (or whatever schedule you want), they shave just a small bit off each time, thus mulching without creating clumps of clippings. And they're silent - you can run them 24/7 if you want to (and if dew allows). Gotta say, my Aussie Moebot is one of the best things I've ever bought!
I’d love it if you did a full video on how to get a good lawn if you’ve just moved in to a house. Sort of beginners guide: levelling or replacing lawn, de-weeding in this process, seeding and care etc
Hi Ben - can you give me any advice on ‘end of season’ treatment/care for wintergreen couch in Perth as we go into winter please. I’ve cut regularly and put some Surefire Propyzamide 500 down (two doses two weeks apart) as I had a bad incursion of winter grass last year. Cheers, Steve
Hi Ben, I was curious whether you have ever considered acquiring a striping rotary mower such as a Toro Prostripe which are often used on football pitches/soccer fields
I would love your big lawn and would really like a Swardman, but couldnt justify the cost. I find it very relaxing cutting mine and so enjoy your tips. 12 to 15 degrees is almost a summer day in Scotland/Lanarkshire lol. great vid again young man.
OMGOSH, you’ve finally got an outdoor table and chairs Lol 😂 Ben, I usually mow every 3rd day for my SW, if I started to sweep my lawn with a broom my neighbours would think I’ve gone even more crazy 😜 than I already am Lol 😂, those leaves on your footpath would drive me crazy, I’m out there everyday picking up leaves from our Magnolia trees we have around our side footpath, that tree of yours would have to go on your footpath. Just waiting for it to warm up a bit before I get out there to do my mow today. Always Great content Ben. Cheers from Janelle 👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Looks great mate. 20mm is a great HOC. keeping my KBG between 17 - 19mm for the season just to maximize on the stripes. Any lower and my unlevel lawn would show how unlevel it really is lol. Mow-mow-mow
Lawn looking absolutely mint man! Could you please do a video on your TifTuf maintenance plan (or make one available for purchase)? Is it the same as your normal couch one? There's a lot of disagreement on the best care plan for TT on the lawn Facebook groups on how much granular/liq fert and water to give it. Some saying it's best when fully left alone. Would love to know your experience with it and how the plan changes during winter. Lots of people with TifTuf nowadays. As always, luv yah work 🤙
I am from new jersey and recently purchased a home, a corner lot surrounded by a good lawn. However i want to level it and bring it to same consistancy. Not sure about the grass breed but wanted to know where to start with.
The 2 most underrated tips I got from you were mowing in 2 directions instead of just once. And using liquid iron. (though iron feels like cheating a bit) 😁👍
Great video Ben as usual :). Have you ever through about some long sleeved shirts with collars and some wide brimmed hats (like the Bunnings hats or similar) to protect our skin during spring and summer for Merch? Thanks for posting mate
I levelled and put some seed down a couple of weeks ago on most of my garden. I haven’t mowed it since and now the rest of the lawn is very long. I would like to mow it but worried about it’s going to ruin the new grass as really short and patchy still
I mow my lawn twice a week but still getting a lot of yellow thatch. I dethatched late last year with my Einhell scarifier and then again early in spring, and I'm planning to dethatch again in the next week or so (as Autumn is coming to the UK). I put a 4in1 on it but just can't seem to get rid of the patches. Any tips? Do I just keep at it? Love the vids and the new property. I've only got a 0.3 of an acre and my rotary Stiga is great but daaaayaaam boy 12 acres. A lot of work. Love the content, thanks for the vids. Happy to do a 12,000 mile collaboration ;oP
You just gave me horrible flash backs. Spent my teenage years dragging a dew broom over golf greens every morning. Been trying to move on from those days and never remember the dew broom. And then you remind me, lol. Lawn looking great mate. Great video.
I tend to think it depends on the lawn, I only mow my tttf about every 3weeks, I let it grow super tall and thick lol, my little Yorkie loves it tall so he can run around and get lost in it
@@LawnTips my neighbours think I'm bonkers too. Few questions mate. I have overseeded my Queensland Blue this year and need to water it for weeks to promote germination. When can I mow it? I pickeed up a vintage locke triplex mower for $50. working condition. I hope it is a nice mower.
Hopefully! $50 is a good deal
Wow Ben your lawn is looking SWEET.
Thanks Chris!
You’re out and we’re in brui. Love the videos but the opposite climate makes me jealous all winter.

Love that pure ryegrass look 👌

Depends on how wet it is. Not ideal though mate!. PGR might be a good option if you don’t get frosts this time of year

Only once a week if not every two weeks when it gets really cold
