OMG Ben, dunno which was funnier, Schnitty going underground in the stump hole and gettin lost, or the drip line snapping and you goin ass over head backwards?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 pure gold, and mate, Schnitty is one of the best additions to your vids in years, just awesome!!!!!
A star is born Schnitty new TH-cam star. Given all the reel mowers you have used on your channel keen to know what you would have if you only had one to use moving forward and how Swardman Electra compares as you stopped using that relatively quickly?
You beauty! Lookin good mate. Don't be shy to show off and share footage of any other yardwork/improvements you've got going on. The shed work being one of them!
Hi i just found your video/channel! You had me at the first 5 seconds! Omy gosh that is the cutest tiniest dog i've ever seen in a youtube vid! I need to try this, i need to do better at eating better for my health! I just liked and subscribed to your channel! Introvert mom of 4 sons (2 autistic) loving the youtube community , learning from others! God Bless!
I can’t wait to see the full reno. You’ll be cylinder mowing that in absolutely no time. My front lawn is ready for a cylinder mower. It’s level enough and the rotary mower is on the lowest it can go. I just gotta be patient and I am sure I’ll get one
The dreaded Kikuyu creepers, bain of my existence leading into and during summer...amazing how far it'll travel on its own accord, but it is super resilient grass...love the stuff, and as I live in a rental, am not going to the expense of a better quality turf/grass type...your video's are brilliant for the like of myself, cheers for all you bring us via this channel!!!!
That look on your face when you see how much thatch the machine rips out! Just went halves in a Ryobi Scarifier and I had a very similar grin when i gave it a test run =D Ill be following with my reno 7 days behind you.
Ben...for your little bed under the tree...you only have to use a line trimmer to cut the Kikuyu back everytime you trim....the trimmer will keep the grass out of the bed....if a shoot does come up past the edge it will be nothing to rip it out by hand.
Hi Ben, been watching your TH-cam videos for about 1 month now really enjoying them and looking forward to the next video. Be great if you could plant Zoysia in the back lawn, so people can see (especially me) how you maintain that variety 😀 Keep up the great work
Probably good idea to not go too deep with the scarifier. I can imagine if you hit one of those poly lines, itll break somthing on the machine before u realise its caught up.
Just when I'm about to hire a dethatched from Kennards, this vid comes out. Great to see how effective it is. My lawn has some pretty nasty thatching in some places....some parts of the lawn have turned into a loose matt like feel. Reno time it is.
I made the mistake of putting Bunnings patch repair seed in a bare spot in my kikuyu… now the rye grass is obviously noticible… what can I do to get rid of it that doesn’t cost a fortune? Also that scarifying machine is awesome
Hey Ben, it seems like week to week it is rainy at the Lawn Tips Golf Club. Are you having an above average rain season? Really look forward to the Kikuyu reno...
I just gave m kikuyu grass a weeding few weeks ago scalp and over sow with light top dress. But it pissed down. So I’m not sure how it will hold up. It has been a bit warm. So hopefully the warm weather will help it and not be drowned
Hi Ben, I am planning to do a Reno on a large couch lawn. I have a separate area of newly levelled fresh soil where I built a retaining wall. I want to use the cores and debris from the scarification to grow couch in this area. Would you be able to advise on how this could be done, and the steps to get a new lawn without having to purchase and lay sod. Cheers
I've just moved into a Sydney rental with a shocking buffalo lawn about 150m2. It was very overgrown (maybe 200mm high) and I've gradually brought it down 60mm. It's a bit patchy and full of thatch. Any suggestions for a cheapish way to scarify so I can give it a decent feed and hope it fills in? Thinking I might have to go at it manually with a rake.
I went premature on my Reno 2 weeks ago in melb with good weather, then in typical Melbourne fashion, it's rained for 2 weeks. It should be OK when warms up, right?
I’m in melb too. I nearly made the decision two weeks ago too. It’s still a tad too cold for optimal conditions but you’d be absolutely fine if you did it two weeks ago. It’s warm enough. My grass has woken up and it’s growing a fair bit now.
Exactly the same for me. Turf was rolled out last year, scalped down and could have filled a 6x4 trailer twice with all of the thatch. Then it rained. Going to top dress next week and feed it some Seasol. Kikyu is pretty hardy, takes effort to kill it once it establishes.
In the same boat. De thatched the living bejesus out of it, filled an 8x5 full. Now its winter again hahah. Thankfully kyk is a weed and it'll grow back
Moved in to our house a year ago and this is the first spring. Sprayed dicamba M on couch lawn a week ago any advice on when to fert or reapply docamba m for the clover and yellow leaf cover that it didn't get? I gave it a top rake today to lift the weeds and rotory mowed also.
OMG WHAT A INTRO AW😂😂❤️
Music in this vid was very cool!
Love that dog too !
🐶
🇬🇧
Dog is now a permanent star…… Tru entertainer. 💯🐶.
Came here for the lawn tips, stuck around for Schnitty

Haha he’s a little legend! So classic moments in this vid for sure 👌🏽😂

omg that is the cutest little pooch ive ever seen
Schnitty was classic. Jumping into the hole was funny as!!!
At least the dog now knows it's ok to dig up the lawn aswell since dad did it🤣🤣
Schnitty was a genius move for the channel
Nice garage roller 👍
I think you are going to get a whole bunch of new fans for your pup. Schnitty
Schnitty is a great addition to the crew mate!
Your puppy is just to cute 😃😃👍.
Praise the Lord Almighty. God is good
OMG your dog is so funny! when winter comes you will have to get him a Lawn tips coat!
Keeping that Kikuyu fresh baby Wooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's gooooooooooooo! Renno! Renno!
That pup is awesome........nice vid too!
Schnitty is so damn cute. Loved how he just jumped into the hole from the tree stump. He was having a ball that's for sure.
Nice work mate. Hope that your puppy tags along in more videos.
Schnitty is going to need his own channel soon! Awesome bud you got
The new pup is hilarious 😂
Spring !!!!!!!!!!
🙌🏼🎉
This might be your greatest video yet🤣
Sorry what did you say again, distracted but your little friend 🥰🥰🥰🥰
That bloody dog is friggin gorgeous!
Little dog is hilarious
You beauty! Lookin good mate. Don't be shy to show off and share footage of any other yardwork/improvements you've got going on. The shed work being one of them!
I got me a lawn puppy too. They are essential, I have found.
Nice Ben Sims.
👌👌👌
Last Aussie 😁. Lawn Rancher. 🤠
El Schnito at it again.
A stone edge around the tree would look awesome . Rather then the plastic edge from bunnings. Suit your house as well 👍🏼

I love your dog
I sort of wished you went and got the excavator to pull them out would of been hilarious 😂
Nice garage door bruh!!
Back to basics and some juicy lawn stuff. Looking forward to the Reno.
that dog is literally cute
Too bad. The seasons are different in Australia. Want to see the property covered in snow. It’d be like a winter wonderland.
It does snow where Ben lives just very rarely. Maybe once or twice each winter.
This is the best video yet lol
Definitely needed the excavator! 🤣
The puppy is so cute!!
Train Schnitty to dig on cue. I've taught my aussie shephard to do it and its a tonne of fun when you are doing garden work.
i just did my lawn. its already growing like crazy!
Amazing content, loving your videos from over here in the UK.
Shed roller door looks sharp Benny
Hey mate love your vids, the lava you pulled out is a curl grub or cockchafer and they love your lawn.
Love the channel mate and content mate!!! Would love it even more if you introduced a sneaky buffalo patch ;) either way I’m watching!
You definitely need some LEDs for that shed. Loving your work mate. Inspiring me to do my own lawn make over

Glyphosate slows it down for a few months.
Please do another video cleaning shed out, and add some good lighting in there 👍🏼👍🏼
Excited for the Par 3 to be finished as well. The Schnitty Invitational?
Its like watching a teaser for the next vid, keep up good work
Great work and a great mower Ben

nice stuff ben that protea is a awesome machine looking forward to the reno vid loving the new puppie so cute haha cheers.
Haha thanks mate!!
I wanted to see the rest of the scarifying it was kinda interesting… mr. (schnitty) is awesome .
So distracted by the tiniest puppy ever 😂
That Protea is a tank! Sweet cartridge style system.
Looks great! I love how turf grass is so responsive to care. Cool dog too.
I’m actually excited for your lawn renovation!! Very keen to see this from beginning to end!!
Killin' the lawn game. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Still waiting for all the rain to stop here in Ballarat so I can overseed. You’ll have that looking mint in no time
What have you got currently Matt and what are you overseeding with?
Also waiting. The long weekend gave us a glimpse of spring and now it is dashed away. Cmon sunshine!
@@mutchumbo I’ve got perennial rye and just overseeding with the same to thicken it up
were all here for the cute dog
I'm so hyped for this reno video 😎
I was hanging on seeing you keep going with the scarifier! Can't wait for the Reno !!😎👍
That’s some good stuff my man.
Hope the editing on the big vid is going well haha came back to rewatch this as my mid week craving xD
Another great vid. Missing the little pat pat pat and tap tap tap overlays in the vid lol thanks mate
So keen to see the reno!
Awesome work Ben

Started a 200m2 lawn from kikuyu runners from a dethatch. Cheap way of doing a lawn if you have time

Nice work, damn that's a nice shed!
Just keep an eye on Schnitty with Kikuyu allergies.
Love the protea mate!!!!
Solid unit!
@@LawnTips Cartridge change is way to complicated for my taste.
I'm calling it a whipper snipper from now on.
That’s mint
Love the new property!!
Wow that Protea smashed it.
How often should you scarify Kikuyu lawn?
Great vide. Love the dog
Be good to see the lawn Reno with the dog running on it

Really look forward to the Kikuyu reno...
anyone else feel like there just watching a cute sausage dog whilst not hearing what this guy is saying about turf hahaha
Any change you'll roundup a patch somewhere on your property and sow a new lawn in? Rye perhaps?
Where did you get the scarifier reel from?
I just gave m kikuyu grass a weeding few weeks ago scalp and over sow with light top dress. But it pissed down. So I’m not sure how it will hold up. It has been a bit warm. So hopefully the warm weather will help it and not be drowned
Hi Ben, loving Schnitty he’s a real star. Would you renovate a Zoysia lawn the same way as a Kikuyu lawn, they seem really similar?
Hey Ben, I am having issues with prairie / rescue grass in my back yard. None of my post emergents are able to knock it.
Any suggestions for control?
👍
