The Spanish from Puerto Rico comes from last the canaries island Spain. When people sing they twist words up.

What people are suorised to know Is that not only does the carribean accent come from the canary Islands, but it also is influenced by Andalusia, Spain because their Spanish has the pretty much the same modifications as carribean spanish. And depending on the region of PR a person is from, they may pronounce the double r as a raspy j sound and thats because they have an influence of France in their Spanish.

This is nothing new.. This has always been the PR accent and way we speak. Cubans are the same. It's not lazy. It's a smooth flow with certain letters we don't pronounce and switch up.. It is what it is, and always has been, beautiful.. ❤🇵🇷❤

Exactly! Most words for example the "S" is silent which allows us to say sentences or phrases smoothly even though to other people it sounds weird.

Louisiana Isleño Spanish is quite similar to Puerto Rican and Cuban Spanish. This is because a lot of our Spanish ancestors in Louisiana came from the Canary Islands and Andalusia. When I lived in Orlando, I worked with a lot of Puerto Ricans, and I fell in love with their variety of Spanish! ❤️

I'm a native English speaker who learned most of my Spanish from my friend from Argentina and he also used a lot of English words in his Spanish. So I'd say Spanglish is (1) not just a Puerto Rican thing and (2) is only used once in a while during a Spanish conversation, a few words here and there

It’s just like a native English speaker that doesn’t have a high level of education his English is going to be terrible, so if you want to study Puerto Rican Spanish you have to look at the way our governors speak our lawyers speak the educated people in Puerto Rico... in Spain the people that do not have education education they speak in very bad Spanish. In England those who don’t have an education speak very bad Spanish you have to study the Spanish of the educated people in Puerto Rico like the lawyers the doctors that astronomers the engineers that’s what you have to do. Bad Bunny is not an educated person he’s a musician.

People who say carribean Spanish is the worst are the same ones who speak the most neutral, boring Spanish. Carribean Spanish is closer to the foundation of Spanish in general because andalusian Spanish is one of the oldest forms of Spanish to be created, and it sounds very similar to carribean Spanish.
