It's not really perceived as an attack to someone as powerful as her.... it's the bare minimum you have to do in order to get a half-decent massage...
Teddie's Instant Kill reminds me of a certain execution from another game...

I was referring to Shadow Labrys' insta-kill. And Kanji's insta-kill is also a grab (like most of his moves). You dodge Yu's by jumping or blocking it.
There is no feeling more satisfying than blocking an instakill and then winning the fight right after.
Fog -Knockout Version-. It's in essence the most awesome part from Persona 4's original Fog (the theme to the first form of the true final boss).

Bosch actually said during a panel that he had trouble voicing Yu in this game and the animation, since he's also voicing Adachi. In the original game, Yu almost doesn't talk, minus the Persona calls. He said that for Yu, he chose a lower tone, like his normal speaking voice and brought Adachi up a little. Also, he tried changing Yu's voice completely, but that didn't come out right. He even suggested that Yu should be recast, but fans would have complained... a lot.
These instant kills look more like fatalities kills! They're as brutal as mortal kombat!

In someone's Story mode (I forget whose, probably Naoto's), they comment on how strange Shadow Labrys' transformation was. I'm thinking Asterius (the bull) is supposed to be the "big bad shadow" bit, but since they can't make a fighting character out of such a large sprite, they had Asterius just be an extension of the original form of the shadow.

The only thing that rubs me the wrong way is Shadow Labrys. Shadows in P4 were huge monsters that looked like the victim mixed with their future Personas. S.Labrys, in this game, is basically a recycled Labrys sprite with a differnet Persona. Would it have killed ASW and Atlus to make her busted, demonically altered, give her a new weapon, like a flail-axe, a new moveset or such to make her more unique ?

In Chie's story mode, Kanji fought Akihiko and lost (Kanji was punched through a wall)
I love how the " DUN DUN DUN" in the begining part sometimes matches the the instakills
that is debatable. considering that the shadow operatives can create a pseudo-dark hour, they might have use it for training purposes, it doesn't necesarrily mean that they'll fight shadows to do so.

I always found Persona's English VA's to be really good, actually, especially Akihiko and Kanji.
Labrys instant kill: I can't think of a word to describe how brutal that shit looks. Teddie's instant kill: The dick move to end all dick moves, at least in this game anyway. Shadow Labrys' instant kill: Looks hards as hell to pull off but proves that she is one of the best characters on here.
The shadows arcana are pretty much the reverses of said persons arcana, adachi's changes from jester to hunger on p4g (r.fool to r.strength)
Unbeatable Elizabeth all the way. She can spam that thing without pause for centuries without a sweat yet Myriad Truth despite being able to temporarily kill a god was the work of the bonds that Mr. Maxed out Narukami could only do so easily.

That "gun" is the Evoker, a device used by Akihiko and Mitsuru to summon their Personas in the real world. But since the fights are going on the TV world, Akihiko doesnt need it, but he gets nostalgic and uses it just for fun
These are all so satisfying to do

Because the shape is needed. The Evoker summons the user's Persona by forcing them to undergo mental stress. They attribute the Evoker's shape to a gun, and when you pull the trigger of a gun, you shoot. So by putting the "gun" to their head and firing, they're forced to overcome the primal fear of death, and the Persona is summoned in the process.
You know its a persona game when you see an anime cyborg girl using a gun thats four times her size

Well, you can check P4 playthroughs on YT, or the anime, if you wish to catch up. Shadows first become their victims, normal-sized, and if denied, they changed into huge monsters, discarding the normal-sized victim appearance. In P4A, "huge" might be troublesome. However, making S.Labrys as big as Tager in BB or Potemkin in GG would have worked, and well as a complete makeover... or just the complete makeover so I don't feel like playing Labrys; her normals and specials are the same as Labrys.

Well, In Persona 2, Shadows were Pallet Swaps of the Character they're the Shadow of and have Reverse Persona's as said character.
He only summoned his Persona without an evoker because he was in the TV world. He only uses it in the TV world for the old times, as he stated in his story mode

Well, that's what she says at the end. Perhaps what you're thinking of is "Be trapped in the maze!"
To actually use the instant kills, you have to win 1 round first, get 100 SP, then hope they don't block it.(Exceptions to the blocking part are Elizabeth's which is a counter, Kanji's is a long drawn out grab, Akihiko's draws you in and hits if you ge pulled into it, and Slabrys who has to activate it, then hit you with a grab that has a half-second delay that makes it easy to jump over it)
Elizabeth's attack is over 9000.
Akihiko's is freaking awesome, as is Labrys' and Yu's
I honestly think that Shadow Lybris's instant kill is a hint to what P5 will be like.
Actually it is implied that he does use it. He states that he figures out a way to summon his Persona without an Evoker after practice. So yeah, that implies that he does train his Persona.
I just love how Kanji's Instant Kill's name in P4A is "The Man Series: Brofist" xD.
It does look like a palette swap when it's not rejected, when it gets rejected, the shadow is supposed to change shape entirely. My whole argument is basically that they didn't follow that rule correctly. In P4, you don't fight a mirror version of the character with a shadow next to it; you fight the shadow itself. It's like the package is missing something.
