    AN EVEN MORE CAPABLE CORSAIR
    Due to its unique inverted gull wing design, the F4U Corsair is one of the most recognizable and iconic U.S. Navy and Marine fighter aircraft of World War II. This updated and upgraded version of the E-flite® F4U-4 Corsair 1.2m features a factory-installed 3S and 4S compatible power system with an exclusive 70A Smart Lite ESC to deliver more capabilities and performance. The BNF® Basic version also includes a telemetry-capable AR631 receiver with both AS3X® and optional-use SAFE® Select technologies that make it easier to fly than ever before. The airframe is now finished in the iconic “all blue” trim scheme and includes separate decal sheets to customize it with MARINES, NAVY, and other markings. Factory-installed rotating retracts with strut covers, plus operational flaps, take your scale warbird experience to another level!

    Saw Jason talking about this on the RCgroups video. He's right, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes and all the setbacks that have occurred. I know a lot of us are like "aw man, another updated model?" But I do get it. They have the new technology. Why not bring back their awesome models? Thanks HH, I've been waiting for this to come back. I've held back on buying a corsair until yall put another out. I can't wait! My "unicorn" model is still the Habu 32x.. I want that to make a come back sooooooooo bad

      Tbh this is actually one of my favorite update models. Not only did it have a significant electronics upgrade, but they also changed the paint scheme to a much better paint scheme than keep the old ugly green stripes in the wings and nose.

      @AerospaceMatt 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@gotime9153 I agree, it definitely looks better now than with the green stripes (although I didn’t mind them TOO much)

    Great plane. I had the first gen from E-Flite, it didn't come with SAFE or 4S recommended ESC. I simply updated the AR636 receiver to the newest firmware and added a SAFE Select profile, then installed a $25 Hobbywing ESC that would be reliable on 4S. Great that E-Flite updated the Version 2 with those capabilities and now I can get another plane in case I damage my current one beyond repair. Bring back the P-47 Razorback 1.2M while you are at it!

      Sounds like you're hitting the Soft Low Voltage Cutoff of the ESC. The power system in this model will pull upwards of 70 amps with 4S batteries so you need to use 50C or higher discharge rated 2200mAh batteries (30C will be ok for 3200mAh batteries) that are in good condition, are not too cold (below 50 degrees F), and are fully charged to avoid hitting the soft LVC prematurely.

    Really wish marketing would spend some time on transport and field assembly. How are the wings removed? How many electrical plugs are there? Are the plugs integrated like the FW190? The Maule M7 was horrible for this. Struts, 6 connectors with short wires, never again. The FW190 is a dream come true.

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Fw 190 was designed some years after the Maule and this Corsair. Almost all of our all-new designs from the last few years include hands-free connections between the wing and fuselage, but not all older models that are updated (including this one) can be modified to include the hands-free connections. That said, at 1.2m span, most people do not remove the wing on this model for transport and storage!

    • @Mark-jb9hx
      @Mark-jb9hx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HorizonHobbyProducts Really enjoying the new products. I chose the FW190 over the P51 because of the evolutionary changes. I also own the Turbo Timber Evolution. I fly more because I don't dread transport and assembly at the field. These two products were game changers for me. Thank you!

    I got this plane back in Oct. for my birthday. I'm getting ready to fly it for the first time. Being the over analytical person I am, I noticed the rudder was slightly to the right. I read somewhere that this was intentional. Is this true? Should I have not adjusted the clevis so it's centered? If I need to set it back, how much should it be?

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was/is not intentional. You should ALWAYS mechanically center ALL control surfaces before your first flight...especially the rudder and ailerons. In some rare cases certain models may require some mechanical up or down elevator trim, but that will specifically be noted in the manual if so.

    can a beginner fly this plane? like for the frist plane

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, this model is not a good choice for a beginner/first airplane. It is considered a Skill Level 2 model:
      Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up and fly similar class models. And although this is the easiest to fly "full-house" Corsair model yet, it's not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or "next step after a trainer" model for low-time RC pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly higher performance and low-wing models like the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m, RV-7 1.1m, Commander mPd 1.4m or other similar class models before attempting to fly the F4U-4 Corsair 1.2m.
      Are you new to flying RC (Radio Controlled) aircraft? If you are, the Corsair is not a suitable first-ever RC model, and we recommend learning to fly with one of our purpose-built trainer aircraft, such as the HobbyZone Carbon Cub S 2 1.3m ( www.horizonhobby.cc/CarbonCubS2RTF ). It's equipped with exclusive and innovative SAFE technology that makes it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes nearly everything needed to fly (except for a compatible LiPo battery and charger that are sold separately, or together in a money-saving Powerstage bundle) and is a perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot.
      The AeroScout is another great choice for a purpose-built trainer: www.horizonhobby.com/product/aeroscout-s-2-1.1m-rtf-basic-with-safe/HBZ380001.html
      And after learning to fly with either the Carbon Cub or AeroScout, the best "next step" airplane for you will be the E-flite T-28 Trojan 1.1m: www.horizonhobby.com/product/t-28-trojan-1.1m-bnf-basic-with-as3x-and-safe-select/EFL08250.html
      Then, after you master flying the T-28 1.1m, you should move to the P-51 1.2m (www.horizonhobby.com/product/p-51d-mustang-1.2m-bnf-basic-with-as3x-and-safe-select-%E2%80%9Ccripes-a%E2%80%99mighty-3rd%E2%80%9D/EFL089500.html ) or P-47 1.2m ( www.horizonhobby.com/product/p-47-razorback-1.2m-bnf-basic-with-as3x-and-safe-select/EFL08450.html )...because both are easier to handle than the Corsair. And after you master flying either of those you will be ready for the Corsair!
