- The United Nations human rights director has said Israel may be using starvation as a weapon of war in Gaza. More than 70% of the population in northern Gaza are facing “catastrophic hunger” according to the UN.
BBC News has obtained exclusive video filmed by an American doctor in a hospital there, documenting the scale of the crisis caused by war and hunger.
Israel has denied that it is deliberately withholding food supplies and says aid deliveries will increase in the coming days.
Jane Hill presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Fergal Keane.
