I'm a professional nail technician and I'd like to give you a quick tip. If you file off the shiny coat of the gel polish and then soak with pure acetone, the soaking time will be cut in half. Great job otherwise!
I use to get gel on my toes since I started to use Seche Vive instant gel effect top coat. NO UV needed. It’s awesome and drys your polish fast and it lasts a month without any chipping. Love it. I bought it at Sally’s.
Thank you so much! I tried this yesterday and added the quick tip from the nail technician below to file the shiny coat off before soaking in acetone. I also used the sock to keep it all tight and cozy(THAT was BRILLIANT). I checked it in 25 minutes and the gel had practically melted off, I didn't even have much to scrape. I did a beautiful pedicure myself. I'm in CA so I saved at least $60 plus the tip (I usually pay extra for the french tip).....I went and bought some new sandals!!! Thanks again🥰
Thank you so much for sharing this DIY. I do not use gel polish, because of what I would hear about how difficult it is to take off. But a lot of my female friends do use gel polish so I can share this video with them so they can see real results that is so awesome. Thanks again for taking the time to create this video. About 4-5 years ago I used to do my nails all of the time with regular polish I don't know if this will help you, but when my nails were at its healthiest in addition to drinking water I would put vitamin E oil on my cuticles about once a week sometimes twice a week with a q-tip real quick dab it takes about 2 minutes to do. The day before or the morning of me me removing the nail polish, I would also really moisturize with lotion all around my nail cuticle and my nail bed with vitamin E and sweet almond oil. happy nail growth!
I recommend filing first, then spread coconut oil on your toes so they won’t dry out. Soak the cotton ball to size and wrap with Saran Wrap firs then foil over that. It will help soak up acetone better and help to peel off faster. 45 minutes sounds just about right 👍🏾
I found that in southern or rural places it’s typical more money for nails. In nyc there’s a shop every other block so it’s not as expensive due to the competition. So that can be why it’s more than where you live. Great video it’s helping me during quarantine 😫
3:40 Til it get on my nerve😂 So real I love it! This process worked exactly how you instructed. I did this after trimming my toe nails and a shower and the gel polish came off with a few scrapes. Thanks😊
Thanks for this, I made the mistake of getting gel (accidentally as I thought I was just choosing a color and didn't understand her) Also I'll add the Reynolds Single Wraps are great for this
📌 Update: March 3, 2022 I am About to remove my Gel polish from my toes right as we speak. I am So Glad I made this Video awhile ago. Its been so Long since I had gel polish I almost forgot how to remove it. Lol #gelpolish #toes #howtoremovegelpolishathome #AKIYIAKELLY
I just used UV light nail polish for the first time recently. I think it's easier to reapply regular polish over and over than to use the gel and have a hard time getting it off.
Happy Thursday to you! I am a new subscriber to your channel! This video was so helpful for me removing the gel nail polish from my toe nails. This was super helpful!
I wore my gel polish for three weeks, it started to snag my natural hair. I tend to keep my hand in water a lot (like to handwash work shirts to get stains out). I just peeled those suckers off. I paid $25 for a gel manicure. It did it’s time. I refuse to spend another $25 to soak it off.
Yes I know the feeling. So Glad you are Doing it Your self. You are Saving them Coins. Now on a Special Occasion I may let them do it. But it's a Good Savings Doing it Yourself. Thanks for Sharing. I hope you are a Subscriber. Be Blessed.
Hello Cousin. That exactly what they do. I like gel polish because of the long lasting. I visit the salon about every 2 weeks. Out here in Cali they charge $3 to $5, depending on the salon. I would do the same if I were paying $38. Great video! Be blessed.
I recently just used gel, and I have had it on for a good three months. And after about a month....they start chipping by itself. And I have been wondering how to take it off for a couple of weeks. And this really helped thx! And my nails are dry too. I'm not getting gel anymore. I think it's the gel itself.
Hey a quick way just pour some acetone in a zip lock bag and let your feet or hand soak for about 10 minutes and them use the wood stick to peel. But Gud job
Nail salons really do us a disservice! Acetone is the best and should be the only way to remove gel. Why charge extra for something you’re suppose to do! If they ever try to use the drill on you deny it! They’re legally not suppose to use the drill!

Thanks for the video. Just don't put that crap on your feet again Let's see pay a lot of money to put it on and then pay a lot of money to take it off if that's not asinine I don't know what is.

Thank you 😘
I just did it. Didn't need acetone. The filing took it off. Just my big toes lol aww man thank you sooooo very much.
Thank you!
Very very helpful thank you!!!
$38 is crazy! I live in NYC and removing the gel is free and the cost of getting the gel manicure is no more than $23. Thanks for sharing
Omg thats a good price! Chicago is ridiculous too. Its expensive to do each time. Getting them removed is $15... 😭
Girl yes it also high in tx.. they charge for everything..I'm miss my home town
That’s cuz of the volume of humans there so it’s a revolving door they can afford to do that.
Same here. They take it off for free me when you do gel polish pedicure
Ok to get my nails done cost 45 so why would I pay 35 to take the shit off hell no 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

How did the orly top coat do for you?
It was pretty good.
Was it the won't chip polish shield?
Hey a quick way just pour some acetone in a zip lock bag and let your feet or hand soak for about 10 minutes and them use the wood stick to peel. But Gud job

Wow Crazy
@@AKIYIAKELLY Right.
Orly Top Coat in my opinion still chips nails.
So true.
My nails was all chipped up.
most salons now use LED lights which i hear arent harmful

LED lamps are safe
Akiyia Kelly hey! So how did ur mani/pedi turn out?!
excellent thx for asking. But it is so much easier letting them do it...lol
+AKIYIAKELLY the polish chipped really fast. I went back to the salon.

You got to be kidding me!???? 30 WHAT DOLLLARS!?
Yes they price was Crazy.
There that dry because of the acetone not the gel
lesley mcarthur oh ok... :-)
I will never get gel again; too much time and too expensive. I rather get normal polish with top coat!
I So Agree with you...

🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣$38. My goodness 😳

Thats why I done it myself. 😂

Unfortunately though no where in Ga is $5.00 that is a good price.
Where I go In Georgia it’s free to remove the gel polish and my pedicure is normally 25-35
