I love finding Ball/Mason jar lids. Great indicator that the site may be old and possibly not detected before. You killed it on the coins! Old pennies and even silver. Thanks for taking us on your adventure and sharing what you have found. 😀
Glad to see I am not the only one who finds stubborn soil to work in. Also laughed out loud when you tested the pinpointer on the digger and realized it was turned off. If I only had a crusty zinc for everytime I have done that. 🙂 Awesome finds. One of our ladies at church who is about 90 lives in her familys early 1900's farmstead house with 2 barns I may have to convince her to allow me to detect there.
Gin, you. must be a numismatist… Your comments about the coins you find lead me to believe you are a coin collector, like myself. Really fun watching your content. Thanx! Come back to our Gulf Shores/Orange Beach beaches and find more loot the vacationers leave behind!
It’s funny because I inherited a nice coin collection from my grandpa, but never paid it much attention. Once I started Metal detecting I fell in love with finding coins; the thrill of actually finding them myself I think. I still don’t know a lot about which ones are rare, but I’m slowly learning. Metal detecting has turned me into a collector.🙂. I am yearning for the beaches something terrible and scheming on another trip down to the gulf asap.🍀
The spoon handle is from a toy spoon that would have been part of a table place setting, spoon, knife, fork, plate, saucer, and cup. Very cool finds overall. Be sure to keep going back to the property until you don't find anything more. I've hunted some properties 6 or 8 times.
I can usually always tell if it’s silver or not since newer coins look more dirty. You should never rub a silver one but wait and wash it under water. The rubbing it will leave micro scratches and severely devalue a rare coin. Also if I get permission to hunt a manicured lawn I wait until after a good rain so the digging is much easier and the holes will cutout cleaner. Congratulations on your nice finds!
Ground is hard, don’t hurt yourself, bundle of joy great job , you are so refreshing, I’m sure you have days of trial and error, we all do, other words , digging trash is a big part of detecting, hey darling keep smiling your good for the soul
Excellent hunt pretty Lady, very nice Mercury Dime congrats on finding your first Merc...Have a great 4th of July weekend Gin.....Papa Mark wishes you the best...
Thanks Gin your videos always make my day you are so bubbly and stunning to see. I'm so happy for what was a great hunt for you. It seems you are having a great road trip. I'm so happy for you.
Awesome Gin!!! I knew you'd score something rare in a 100 year old yard. Those 2 silver dimes & the wheaties, likely dropped many many years ago. Many more treasures out there to be found!!
awesome hunt. I don't use a magnifying glass in field but I can see really good detail with my cell phone camera. Sometimes even better. Congrats on your first Merc. That's the first of many more to come. Have fun on your trip. We need rain here in east Tennessee to make digging easier. Look forward to your next video.
Thank you, Randy. I’m actually back home now but still sharing videos from my hunts out west. It looks like we’ll finally start getting some rain over the next few days. We sure need it - the creek at my house has gone bone dry.
It looked very warm there but apparently it wasn't. Glad to experience your first mercury head dime with you. Never anything like the first. Wonderful to to see you.
I redid my sewer lines in my house. I was digging a new trench for new routing, I found a tunnel made of brick coming into the basement, it comes in on an angle and is big enough for a human to walk through
@@bengullett2837 Wellington, Ohio. Our Village has a network as I learned later. Homes in my area of the Village has the Underground Railroad. Then they would make it to Lake Erie, then across to Canada
My old farm at the bottom of Columbia hill road outside of Monterey Tennessee was built around 1900 but was built over top of and old cabin built in the early 1800s it had a giant log barn where the front yard is what a place to look for old stuff I was always finding mule and horse shoes I bet the new owners would let you search their.
The soil conditions remind me of the Colorado curb strip dig. Here is a strategy that you may find fruitful. When the metal detector indicates a penny, I don't dig it. I focus my digging on silver when detecting on land. This allows me to cover a lot of ground and achieve a high treasure to trash ratio. Since I've been metal detecting for over a decade, I already have a pile of Wheaties and Indian heads. However, I dig nickles and gold, which often turn out to be pull tabs. Congratulations on the finds, especially the Rosevelt and Mercury dimes. By the way, what happened to the wind and rain that give your digs atmosphere?
Gin, you make finding pennies fun. I have a house from 1842. I detected around property. Found a brass soap dish(1890s?). Pennies, etc. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, Ed. It seems like 75% of the ground I hunt is hard. Lol….part of why I love beach hunting so much.🙂. Good luck as you get your adventures started!🍀
Thanks!
Thanks ever so much Mike! You are very much appreciated.💖🍀
Love the mercurys when they pop out.
Absolutely!🤩
Those are usually found on ribbons from homecoming
I know you call yourself lucky, but the folks who get to hang with you are truly lucky. What a wonderful person you are.
"That was the year I graduated from High School!" That was so precious. Loved this video!

I'm jealous, 4yrs of metal detecting, and haven't dug up a single merc! Way to go Gin. Congratulations. And great video!!!
Awwww, what a bummer John. I hope you get one soon!🍀🍀🍀

You are a few cents richer monetarily but the experience makes it priceless. Wonderful video young lady.
Thanks so much, David. 100% agree with you that the thrill is in the experience itself.🙂🍀

Pretty good day after all with some cool finds.
My only regret was that I didn’t have more time to hunt that day. It was a fantastic location and there was a lot of ground I didn’t get to detect.
Nice permission Gin-Congrats on your finds, ATB PullTab

GIN !!! Check that penney... 1909 ...
If it has "S" mintmark on the front, turn it over & look for "VDB" initials, on the reverse side,
bottom-center..on the reverse side, Gin.

@@LuckyGin thank you for putting out a great show. I really enjoy watching every video
Subbed here from the UK, Good luck for future hunting.😊
A penny dug is a penny earned! Great hunt and nice silvers! Maybe a bigger serrated shovel would have helped dig faster and bigger plug.
Love your videos! Happy hunting - Ro
Thanks so much! I really appreciate you popping by!🙌🙂🍀

Great finds. The football looks more like a fob may be from a watch or key chain than a charm from a bracelet. May be from that lost key you found?
Congrats on your silver coin finds and your fun hunt! Great stuff!
Thanks my friend! Can you believe how many firsts I’ve had this year? What a blast!🍀
The copper football was popular in the 50's and 60's on a necklace as well as charm bracelets.
Very cool - I appreciate you sharing that info.🙂
It looked very warm there but apparently it wasn't. Glad to experience your first mercury head dime with you. Never anything like the first. Wonderful to to see you.
I always put a towel down to put the dirt on
That’s a good idea!
Nice hunt.. I've actually also dug a charm🏈
Was yours like this one too?
I redid my sewer lines in my house. I was digging a new trench for new routing, I found a tunnel made of brick coming into the basement, it comes in on an angle and is big enough for a human to walk through

Congratulations Gin..,nice job...love the hunt...❤️
Thanks so much, Annette.🙂🙌💖🍀
its been awhile since I last seen you. Your looking great, and keep finding those silvers , you deserve to !
Awww, thanks Randal. I think for some reason the TH-cam algorithm has changed. I should have a bunch of new videos over the next 3 weeks.🙂
I just bought a Bounty Hunter 4 metal detector This looks fun. Thanks for the videos
Wow, that looked like a lot of work digging in that hard ground! Just starting out myself, congrats on the Mercury Dime!

Gin,last week I found a standing liberty quarter in pocket change. Yes it is silver. Wow you can still find old silver 🥈 coins in pocket change.
That’s really cool! Didn’t even have to dig for that one.🙌🍀
Happy hunting Gin...🍀
Gin, you are the best :)
Another great video Gin, great hunt. It is nice to find silver isn’t it.
Absolutely! That was my first merc and first time pulling two silvers in one day.🥳🥳🥳🥳
Hi Gin
Do you know that you can soak those in Vinegar for a while to clean them up good for rust also.
Double silver your on a roll. Knuckle bumps to you.
As always a great video I was wondering why you do not use a small shovel to dig ?
Good Luck on the next one
Thanks so much Robert!
Another good hunt for you, congrats on the mercury dime. Always like finding those.
