  • 30 years serving traditional Teochew fishball noodles. 30 years working in a bank.
“Everyone contributes to society in their own way. It doesn’t matter in your work, what rank you hold; whether you’re a hawker or otherwise, we all have our own responsibilities and duties to the community." - Jeremy Soo, Head of Consumer Banking (Singapore), DBS
Anthea Tan and her family have been in the hawker business for the past three decades, just as long as Jeremy has spent in the banking industry. Over a meal of spicy Mee Pok and Laksa noodles, Jeremy, Anthea and her mum Irene chat candidly and share their storied experiences. They recount tough times when they were pushed to rise above adversity and reflect on finding purpose in the work they do and the roles they play in serving the community.
Yam Mee Teochew Noodles is located at Kaki Bukit 511 Market and Food Centre (#01-24) and Kovan 209 Market & Food Centre (#01-35) and are open from 9am-9pm and 7am-9pm respectively (closed on Mondays).
Every Friday till 26 July 2024, diners who pay with DBS PayLah! can receive a subsidy of SGD 3 on their meals at participating hawker stalls (limited to the first 100,000 diners each week). This is part of DBS/POSB’s ongoing effort to cushion the impact of rising costs on our consumers and safeguard hawker livelihoods. Learn more here: go.dbs.com/3TR4BFV
