The writing in this episode is completely exquisite. Side A had me crying the most. I'm favoriting it so I can listen to it again and again.
i cry every episode. i want them to be free so bad haha. this is new. and important. and perfect.
Well that was certainly a rollercoaster of emotions. A fun one too. Can't wait to see where it goes now.
Jeez, I feel like the plot about the narrator and the listener's relationship as little kids is about me and my friend Lillian when I was little. I haven't seen her since I was four, but we still have some sort of connection that keeps us close. I like to imagine it's her making these tapes. Our relationship was super intense and one day after being best friends for a very long time, she just up and moved out of nowhere. I haven't spoken to her in a very long time. I miss her.
I also have a friend like that. Keith. I haven't seen him in over 30 years, easily. We were barely more than toddlers. I miss him.
These two comments left me nearly sobbing. Oh gods.
When you look at the clock and it's minutes from being 2:05
'go ahead and destroy this one'
I'm not crying I'm not crying I'm not crying

The music in this episode is beautiful......END SIDE A!!!!(ping)
This needs more views
WHY HAVE I NOT LISTENED TO THIS SOONER GRAHH
I trust you.
it is 2:05 at the time i'm listening to this for the first time
So i think we can assume the artist in this episode is Claudia
I'm confused. IDK why, but for some reason I had thought that the speaker and the listener were siblings. Like, actual siblings??
Did anyone else get that somewhere? And now turns out they're not?
probably because of how close she apparently remembers them being also I believe at one point she referred to a person who looked like the listener but younger or older. i thought so too when she first started talking about their past but at some point she brought up them talking about their siblings (her brother and the listeners sister I believe)
The listener (Oleta) has been able to recognize his older sister post-childhood, which shouldn't have happened. (In fact I think it's the reason why he's in the Institue.)
The voice (Esther was it) remembers _him_ from her childhood, which shouldn't have happened either. (And in a recent session she stated she felt jealous that he remembered his sister, but not her.)
Gilles Duchesne
okay, i do remember something like that... but wait... Oleta is a man? Not a woman?
You know, I just had assumed the listener to be male... In retrospect it appears I was wrong.
if she was 9, 7 months and 4 days old, having waited for 4 months and 27 days would make her 10 + a month.
Get your math straight, WTW.
7 + 4 = 11 months ; 4 + 27 = 31 days ; 31 days = 1 month ; 11 months + 1 month = 12 months... A year is 12 months. She'd be 10 exactly. Get your math straight, Bruno. :P
I got owned! thanks for pointing it out
she says iterated a lot. not complaining, just noticing.
its all from the fly thing in the first episode.
i thought it was a dragonfly, since the logo looks like one.... could just be me tho
could be either
