  • Unboxing of a Black Widow Motorcycle rack assembling and setup, used as a bike rack for a ebike. This rack comes with a ramp so you can easily push your bike onto the rack. You tie your bike down to the rack like a motorcycle.

    Not overkill. I had to do the same thing for my Stealth Bomber. Well done!

    *Fits my car perfectly with my new **Latest.Bike** raker , very easy to set up and take down. Great quality and price, very happy with this purchase!*

    Great review and video!! For those people that says overkill, its peace of mind!! And the ramp is very useful!! Trust me, your LOWER back and shoulder joints will “ thank you later” for not lifting up and down your 75 -85 lbs ebike repeatedly!! Trust a Physical Therapist!!! Thumbs up 👍 for the video!

    Thanks for the video. Had about the same thing happen with our bike rack . Two ebikes push the limit of most racks, I'll take overkill anytime. And not a bad price.

    Anyone that checks out the ebike carrier options is going to come to the same conclusion…a motorcycle rack is MUCH more secure and cost a 3rd of what is on the market for ebikes. The closest thing I have seen that might work is over $1100 and while it looks good, I have my doubts as to if any of them can actually carry 2 heavy ebikes without failing. I was thinking about getting this exact carries for my ebikes, but I have 2 to carry and wonder about getting them both to fit on one motorcycle rack.
    Good video

    The other bike rack you had is only meant for an E-Bike that weighs no more than 60lbs. I called them and they told me that. This is a way much better way to go.

    Good job, thanks. I have a saris fat bike carrier, had it for a year put 2 ebikes on it, no problem with it.

    We landed on this solution after multiple fails using bike racks for mid/long tail fat bikes (non-E)...think Big Fat Dummy on a bike rack... like a hippo on a tightrope. No bueno. This works for a decent price.

    Thanks for the informative video. People say, "You don,t need a motorcycle rack." Most ebikes are in the 70-80 lb range. This looks like a much sturdier solution, than most any "bike" rack that I have seen, even ones that are rated for ebikes. The only thing I don't like about it, is the straps. They could have made a ratcheting arm to hold the bike up, and it would be perfect.

    • @gman5794
      @gman5794 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ratcheting arm would not help for a real motorcyle.

    Nice, I did the same thing. I got the same rack. My e-bike is a 94 pounds E-CELLS SUPER MONARCH AWD 1000 WATT, and I also added trailer bar lights to the carrier, since the bike block the tail lights of my car. Thx, it is a good idea.

      My ebike is a1000 watt ecell bike heavy as a small donkey. I just put a tuft liner in the tires to prevent flats it was tough until I bought a set of metal tire levers from Amazon, don’t forget to spray around the rem of the tire it makes it much easier to remove the tire. Get rid of those plastic tire levers and get metal levers.

    Funny thing is, the motorcycle racks I've been looking at for my new 100# e-bike are cheaper than "e-bike racks", and have higher capacity! 🤔Great marketing strategy, just slap "e-bike" on it and double the price! 😂

    Great review. Glad to see that the rack worked for your bike. I’m looking at this rack for my Riese Muller Load 60 which has a wheel base of 72”. Do you know if this rack will be long enough for it ?

    I like the idea, but it needs a better hold-down system than all those straps. A vertical piece bolted to the carrier that the bike can be strapped to would be great.

    Thanks for the demo. I have the same rachet straps and was wondering why you would Sat wrap thru itself on the handle bars? I have mine set up like yours is that wrong?

    • @MikeAndTheGreatOutdoors
      @MikeAndTheGreatOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your talking about the loops i use on the handle bars, I think the reason to use thoses is that the "lock" better to the bars and are not prone to sliding. Thanks for watching!

    I'm debating to put one on my Outback but afraid to scratch the car. I came up with the idea because I can't lift my bike and discovered how cheap this rack is. Any suggestions on how to keep bike upright and safe from scratching my car?

      Use ratchet straps and tie it down like a motorcycle.

  • @mogeking56

    This is like my ebike rack, but my bike ramp is made of black heavy metal it is strong I considered the aluminum one, but I hard about cracking problems with those so I opted out for the steal metal rack it only cost $108 and it’s perfect for my ebike. My bikes weight is 92 lbs and that is heavy for a bike, but most important the rack has a ramp so..... I just throttle just a little and walk the bike up the ramp. It’s on my truck 🛻 and it’s going to stay their until he’ll freeze 🥶 over or until winter ❄️ comes. I just built an ebike work station in my backyard from 4x4x8 with a crank to lift the bike up just to change tires and other work. Maybe when I stop 🛑 being camera shy 🙈 and the mob stop 🛑 looking for me I will video some of my ebike adventures.

    Remember guys you need to put break lights on your rack because when it rains you will have a rain 🌧 cover over your bike 🚴 this cover will block you truck 🛻 break lights from other motorists. You don’t want to be rearranged by other cars 🚗 because your stupid for not having visible break lights

  • @jstar1000

    I see two positives, price and strength. It ends there for me. Two things that make it a no go for me are, it holds only one bike, the whole strap thing is too much hassle, I want something quick, easy and solid. Its a good option for some but just not for me. I'm waiting on my quicRstuff Mach2 with add on. No tools or straps required ever.

      There are 2 rack ones,
      You can set up your straps and it could take 30 seconds to tighten.
      Or you can buy specific straps for it.

    Bike racks are overpriced amd overrated, i have found that their profit margins are ridiculous. Think of it, a piece of aluminum welded to each other with plastic and rubber and a few nylon straps. This can't be more than $40, but its actually $300

    • @fackeyutub-emael6545
      @fackeyutub-emael6545 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Now, motorcycle racks require metal due to the weight and safety concerns.
      Therefore are built better and cost the same or even less than these bike racks.
