    Kudos to you for making a great video with a lot less jibber-jabber and straight to the point

    Another good video. Get two ratchet straps then from both sides of the Jeep frame where the bumper bolts on attach one end then the other end to the outsides of the ramp. That will get rid of the sway/wiggle of the ramp and if the hitch pin fails, you're still good. Since I have a Rubicon I attach them to the 2 red rescue hooks in a loop like a rubberband so I don't need to lay on the ground to hook them up. I have carried my Suzuki DRZ400 down the Mojave Road 3 times without a problem. To save my fork seals I use the front strap just on the front tire looped around the top of the tire/rim then to the anchors.

    My carrier bent this morning, but luckily didn’t fall off. It’s about 10 years old, and always worked great. I have a 300 pound Piaggio Liberty 150, and this looks perfect for me. I have it on the back of my RV, and also tow a car.

    I like the presentation, which leads me to think about using a low profile trailer instead for a long trip.

      A trailer is certainly nice if you have a place to store it and have the budget. 👍

    Suggestion for the the fork support: I use a 4x4 block of wood from an old post and cut an arch on one side to match the radius of the tire and cut it to the height that I want to keep the suspension from depressing to my desired height. Very cheap and easy.

    Cool idea for the lights

    Could you explain how you connected the lights to the 4 pin plug? I’m trying to figure it out 😆

    Thanks for posting.

    You can loop another tie-down from center of carrier, over seat to safety chain slot on hitch socket. Eliminates much of the wobble.

    Cut a 2x4 for a fork saver. Cheap and works great.

    Would you feel comfortable putting a 500 Lbs. bike (Bonneville) on this carrier?

    .. Thanks for the review. I am considering one from Harbor Freight for my CRF 300 Rally and my 2017 Tacoma 4x4 long bed.

      I bought mine before HF started carrying it, but it looks like the same one. I've done a couple of long trips with it and it's holding up well so far.

      I have a 2017 tacoma and the HF carrier with a 290lb dirt bike. I'm not a big fan and am looking for something else. Just FYI. The wheels sit in chock recesses and it gets a little sketchy throttling it out forward. Almost impossible to pull it out backward. I like how this one is smooth with a raised chock for a manual roll down backwards.

    Great review thanks for the info was looking at this exact carrier and I’m pretty sold on it after watching. How did you attach the lights? Do they come with the wiring to attach to the hitch wiring?

    Thank You! Was watching mainly to see how the hitch stabilizer was mounted. Glad I watched because I had it mounted backwards. I'm going to haul a 2011 KLR 650 on a 2016 Nissan Frontier 4 wheel drive 6 cyl. from South Carolina to Ft. Worth, Texas. I'll be exceeding the tongue weight by about 80 lbs.......! I haul another bike 6 months ago and was over by about 20 lbs....Going to be straight highway....but I'm not a fan of risks....still going to chance it.

    • @jzantos
      @jzantos 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey how did it go with the KLR? I'm about to do the same thing with a 500 lb hitch rating..

    • @justmyself1000
      @justmyself1000 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jzantos It turned out well! Was nervous a few times when hitting bumps. Had to remove the front fender because the bike was sideways and the air was catching it funny and the fender removed helped with the ratcheting straps. No handling issues with the truck whatsoever.

    Warning warning I seen a TH-cam video April 7th 2024 where the square tubing broke off and the man lost his whole bike and a carrier😢 beware definitely reinforce the square tubing by inserting another piece of metal in the inside and Welding it in because the square stock under the motorcycle carrier snapped straight off behind the hitch

    Wouldn't you feel safer with it strapped in the bed of the truck? I've considered one of these but haven't pulled the trigger yet, kind of going back and forth between one of these and just getting a ready ramp and sticking my bike in the back of my Maverick.

      Approximately 10% of the of the reviews on Amazon say the rack broke with a 400lb motorcycle.
