Sometimes it makes you want to end it all. Like that numbness is still there but those sudden emotions of realization and sadness just make you think. Then you overthink. It makes me realize that I'm not actually important or special. I'm just another human. And I don't deserve to be here.

I was in prison and my mom was dying for like two weeks when this song was on the radio all the time. Winter of 2015. She didn't make it. On top of that I was going through a lot of other things in my life. I still can't hear it without tears coming to my eyes.

This song connects to me on so many levels. I was going through a terrible breakup and this song along with the whole album helped me. I cried so much listening to this song. Having nothing to do with my breakup I got in a very depressed state. I wanted to die. I kept coming to this album. Such a sting album. I’m better now but I can’t listen to any of this album without thinking about what I made it through. This whole album is amazing. If you are out there battling suicide and depression keep on fighting. Just like the song, ‘keep the dogs at bay, ‘ “ I finally found a reason to believe in better days now.” There is a reason you are alive. Just find it. Don’t give up.
Came home from the army to (family hardship discharge on my dd214) kids were lost to the state of Connecticut thanks to my ex and my own choice of joining military. I find myself lost in lyrics of this song . 15 years ago I can home to save my kids from the state . Feel after the decade long of court battles to gain sole custody it took all of who I was . Look in the mirror barely know who I am .

This song was inspired by Shaun Morgan's late brother Eugene who committed suicide by jumping out of a hotel window. Shaun said "When I began writing it, it was really simple, but I liked what it was inspiring in me as far as emotion and lyrics. I ran with that."

This is one of those songs that if heard at the right time might just bring a tear to your eye and could there be a better complement than to have moved someone to tears with your song. What great band and beautiful song.

@Arthur Morgan some people are trying to drown out a lot of things with drugs, shoving them aside and saying you have no use for them isnt gonna help, just shows that your unsympathetic, sure they may have made some bad decisions but that doesnt make them any less of a person than you are. I feel the same way. I was 15 when this album came out and wasn’t the biggest fan of it but as went on I grew to enjoy it much more than FBINS

The kind that makes you sort of find yourself staring into space, and a billion emotions hit you all at once…but also specific thoughts and/or memories. All of that hits you at once… it’s like a rush of what I’m meant to feel at that exact moment because that was when it was meant to, at that time of my life. I loved the show at the Gramercy even though I got trampled. For the life of me I don't know why Seether is still playing in dives, but at least the people in the front aren't too drunk because you lose your spot if you go to the bathroom, plus the ticket was only $29.00! Anyway, it's all worth it. This song is so awesome.

I miss the fuck out of you AJ. Coming up on 5 years now. Some days, my heart hurts like hell since you've been gone. You were one of my best friends, and a light in the darkness when I was going through a rough patch. The heart attack that took your life one snowy January morning in 2019 the day after my grandson was born ripped out a part of my heart. This song has me a mess this morning. I'll see you on the other side brother.
I have to say, while this isn't my favorite album of theirs, it certainly beats the holy hell out of the previous album (Holding on to Things Better Left to Fray I think it was called?) That last album just didn't have as much heart and soul in it as I've come to expect from Seether, no feeling in it. They did a much better job with this one - more of this please!
