@@kaiwood6471 More than kind of. I think they need a bit of time to rough out their edges though. I'd like to hear some more studio stuff

@@kaiwood6471 They have a very similar vibe to when black midi were at this stage of their career and I can get onboard with that. I love what black midi are doing now, but I'm really excited to see how these guys develop and what they'll be doing 3 albums deep. I bet it'll be nothing like what black midi are doing right now.

@@kaiwood6471 They do sound an absolute fuck ton like pre-Schlagenheim era black midi, but the stuff that's not going on the EP sounds like it's expanding that Schlaggish sound into a more post-hardcore direction. IMO, I think the songs going on the EP are pretty boring, but I'd really like to see how they develop their own identity with the non-EP material here. Chewing is probably my favorite.

When I hear Cowboyy's stuff, I think of them as idealist, and very playful. It's so easy to compare them to the post-punk revivalists of the '10s to pigeon-hole them, but even the most common comparison they get just isn't right - they're bringing their own slant, their own sensibilities, and their own fun, I feel.
Comparison is the thief of joy, theirs and yours. I hope more people will realise that.
I didn't like this performance quite as much as the previous one, but then the Windmill can be a bit of a claustrophobic, suffocating space, in more ways than one. Would love to continue seeing more of them, and see them keep creating!

I agree with the part ‘they didn’t get the right comparison’, for me they’re playing a genre that mixing more math rock instead of post-punk-ish elements, also including their own taste which’s hard to describe and define. They might sound like some previous bands in guitar sounds, but in my opinion the composition and melody pattern are definitely different from others.

@@roustghoti Completely agreed! On the melody patterns especially - theirs frequently feel kinda twinkly and optimistic sounding. I love them for that!
