I was a young man in 1964 when he was elected in November, 1964. I loved and supported his domestic policies. such as Medicare and the Voting Rights Bill.. I disliked him seriously and disagreed with him on Vietnam. He escalated that war starting in 1965, He ran as a "peace candidate". We gradually went from 20,000 troops there in 1963 to 500,000 in a few years. I remember 250 Americans dying per week there. I remember the napalming of that country. I remember the Mi Lai massacre. This was a disaster for his presidency and for the American people. This tore the country apart. I don't believe that JFK would ever have escalated that war. He was too smart for that.

These videos fascinates me. To see that Americans (especially those republicans) from back than had all shared the same beliefs that the people of this country should have government fight for these protections and rights

The Reverb at the end makes Johnson sound evil

“Most Americans” knew of someone who died in Vietnam due to LBJ’s incompetence. I wonder how many of the folks shown here did?
