JB seems like the nicest guy on the planet. Since watching his interview on DP/30 channel on here from L.A. being interviewed about "Biutiful" he showed how humble, wise and thoroughly likeable guy he is. Al Pacino left a message of support on his answer phone once…. Glad to see my once favourite actor applauding Javier, recognising his enormous talent as well as the rest of us. Javier has now jumped to Top Spot for me.
woah!! His laugh, the way he says "Boody Allen", his sexy, manly presence, the way he talks about it being important to support your team.... This man is everything!! Javier is everything in 4 minutes!!
I wanted to send him a simple fan email, and couldn't find any links to do so after trying for 20 minutes on the internet. If he could read it I would just say "Yesterday I watched No Country For Old Men" and I was mesmerized by your performance.
By the beard of Zeus! Going into this video I knew that Javier Bardem was one of my favorite actors, but when I found out here that he played Rugby (me too!) and loves painting - yeah, I love this guy, he's got a lot of awesomeness
He is such a beautiful man and a great actor. I love his native language films the best such as los lunes al sol, camen tremula and my favorite Mar adento. I dont speek spanish and i have to rely on english subtitles but i am starting to learn spanish and hopefully oneday find my very own Javier Bardem lol.
Javier deserved his oscar for "No Country" but he should've also won 10 yrs ago for "Before Night Falls".He was so convincing with that character & another gay character he played a few yrs later, that I thought he was really gay & didn't have 2 do much acting.I was shocked 2 find out he was straight. In 2007 he was also in "Love in the time of cholera" playing a character totally different from Chigurh and was totally beleivable. This guy is a great actor
Opportunity rang in the door and Javier bardem took the chance, being an extra. Experience is spiritual, its something which resonates for all time and is based on improving skill sets.
I totally agree with you. An english native speaker usually doesn't understand what is it like to speak with a different language than yours. They only know their language. I'm not an english native speaker so when someone speaks in my language I understand how he or she feels because I know how difficult is to speak english. I think that he has a really good accent.
@piratesofcarribean12 I noticed maybe just the other day that Antonio Banderas has the exact same accent. I think now I can tell the difference between a "Spanish" Spanish accent and a Mexican/South American one. Kinda hard for me, as a non-native speaker, to do. I used to listen for a "lisp" on certain syllables, but when I found out that many upper-class/genteel Mexicans do the same...
It just now occurred to me: something about the voice and the cadence made me think of some role he was in that was super-cool, but I could not place it...he was Felix, the drug kingpin with whom Max (Jamie Foxx) had the confrontation in "Collateral." One scene, maybe five minutes, and he damned-near stole the whole movie out from under Cruise and Foxx. Very few actors could do so much with so little, and convey so much menace without going over the top...he was brilliant.
To usergreg 1498 That’s the most complete, and certainly the most sharp comment of all. You're absolutely right in your view. You 'know" how to "watch" a film.
@Saeunnar Indeed. I think Robert Downey Jr. is the celeb/actor/whatever that I was genuinely glad to see pull himself out of a bad place, get his whole "thing" together, and become a stable, working performer again. I think I first felt that way watching him in "Kiss, Kiss, Band, Bang;" one of the sharpest, most intelligent, and fall-down-laughing-my-ass-off funniest movies I ever saw. To see talent like he has go to waste is genuinely a bummer.
Liked him ever since I saw him in "Jamon Jamon" with that pretty little girl... whose I cannot remember... ha! Nice tribute to Victoria Abril, too. ... and he was a rugby player? I like him even more!
Funny to read all those comments about his accent... considering english is not his mother language. We spaniards really appreciate when an english or american actor/actress makes the effort to speak in spanish... and yes, they also pronounce it quite badly but we don't make such a fuss of it. It's as difficult for us to distinguish " /ʃ/ " sound from "/ʒ/" sound , as for you between soft "r" and strong spanish "r".
He is my favourite actor! He is so talented, smart and has such a strong energy!! And, of course, he looks very hot! But I prefук when he sзeaks in spanish
He was in it and Gerard Butler. They all kinda favor each other like they could be related in some way. JDM in P.S. I Love You was so hot in that movie! And with an Irish accent, I nearly died.
@tripletwin you're so right and you dont have to wait for the stupid interviewers to ask them useless questions. They sort of speak freely which is ALWAYS the most interesting.
It always seems to me while watching interviews with European (especially British) actors vs. American actors is that European actors tend not to be so overly impressed with themselves and what they do. Ben Kingsley once was talking in an interview and said something the effect of "I stand where I'm told to stand, I say my lines as they're meant ot come out...": and that's that. They respect the craft, but don't look at it like it's some sort of alchemy that only artsy people "get."
Jaja!
@sarouelala not really, this "wonderfulspaniard100" is just a south american troll who wants to make us look bad. Bardem is very respected in Spain, everyone recognizes his good work and how humble he is.
don't get how people thought he'd replace heath ledger for the joker, how the hell would that be? Joker with a spanish accent? He must have limited job variation, due to his accent, that is if he isn't able to shake it off but seems he can't. Like Banderas and Cruz

agree 100% !! love him !!
I laughed at "Boody Allen" xD
thank you for these interviews!!
i think his accent is one of the best i've heard from spanish people. can understand everything. he's brilliant
I wanted to send him a simple fan email, and couldn't find any links to do so after trying for 20 minutes on the internet. If he could read it I would just say "Yesterday I watched No Country For Old Men" and I was mesmerized by your performance.

I loved Javier in Vicky Cristina Barcelona and in No Country for Old Men. Awesome guy!
he is fantastic. god, i love the sound of his voice!
I love his accent and his style as an actor.Bravo on your Oscar Javier.:-)

good job with the upload quality NYT!
I can't believe I actually lol'd at his last little green card joke...I was mesmerized by his looks.
i m in love with Javier
love the interview! thanks for posting
Wow. Victoria Avril: An actor is a lawyer for his/her character. Thanks for that, Javier. It can work that way for a writer, too. I'll use it.
God he is SO charming and so intelligent.. I love all of his work and especially his current role in Skyfall.. Absolutely an amazing actor..
Lyn683
What a man.
His laugh...
This movie really took him light years from his usual Spanish loverboy routine. It was an awesome performance.
lol "i guess when you recieve a boody allen script" got to love the spanish accent
Just watched Biutiful and he's my latest obsession.
Exactly! Great performance by him. I became a fan of his, after watching that film.
he's perfect! Just perfect

This guy is the real deal
Great Actor ;)
Javier acting is method acting. Great actor.
He is unbelievably charismatic.
best actor
LOVE him.
I looove his voice! :P
he is great!
I like how he says 'Jahn Trrravoltha'
@firesong888 It's strange for you, but in Spain we say B instead of W in this word, "Boody", not "Woody" xD
@piratesofcarribean12 I noticed maybe just the other day that Antonio Banderas has the exact same accent. Congratulatons for your oscar's nominations. Absolutly deserved it!
mi actor favorito! Love. love, love him! xoxo
love
he's a legend!

bardem is the best!!
He says Boodee, because in spanish the V, W and B have similar pronunciation.
@backmacso Thank you for making me laugh, have a nice day now, peace OUT!
To usergreg 1498 That’s the most complete, and certainly the most sharp comment of all. You're absolutely right in your view. You 'know" how to "watch" a film.
Call me, Javier, if Penelope doesn't work out. Oof.
i thought it was it was javier bardem to lol. their smile is is almost exactly th same
@Saeunnar Indeed. he is soooooooooooo cute. Lucky Penelope!!
Where does he work.....?
Gran actor, yo pienso que desaprovechado en Hollywood a pesar del Oscar, sus mejores actuaciones fueron en películas españolas, como Días contados.
@firesong888 hahaha i can't stop laughing.. keep clicking on 2:25
HERO
Javier Bardem will be appearing tomorrow (January 9) on CBS Sunday Morning.
He is my favourite actor! He is so talented, smart and has such a strong energy!! And, of course, he looks very hot!
But I prefук when he sзeaks in spanish
Is anyone paying attention to what he is saying or sizing up his ruggedly handsome features, like I am?
He was in it and Gerard Butler. They all kinda favor each other like they could be related in some way. JDM in P.S. I Love You was so hot in that movie! And with an Irish accent, I nearly died.
It so sounds like he is saying booty when he says Woody. I keep hearing Booty Allen.
Spanish people can't pronounce the letter W for some reason 😂 Latin Americans do pronounce it
this video would be so much better in hd :(
Ivann Garcia I am with you on that
he played rugby im officialy in love hahaha
please say Woody Allen and Sugar one more time
He's rreeeaallly fucking good.
Ssuu haha! If he hadn't been so handsome he'd hardly have any chance in Hollywood
@tripletwin you're so right and you dont have to wait for the stupid interviewers to ask them useless questions. They sort of speak freely which is ALWAYS the most interesting.
Not even kidding.. my ovaries just exploded. Now I have to get surgery. Thanks Javier..
jeffrey dean morgan Totally Looks Like javier bardem

Hardly.
"booty allen" is all i'm hearing
He looks like a spanish Robert Downey Jr
@usergreg1498 You're right. I felt the same when I watched Lucky You. Robert Downey Jr did this in a scene with Eric Bana. He's an amazing actor too.
I know! I thought Bardem was in P.S. I Love You, but it turns out that JDM was the guy instead
He and Jeffery Dean Morgan look oddly similar. But, I think JDM is hotter however, this dude's accent is killin' me! *swoons*
awesome accent
oh man his voice *_*
@firesong888 maybe it's woody allen lol
@sarouelala not really, this "wonderfulspaniard100" is just a south american troll who wants to make us look bad. Bardem is very respected in Spain, everyone recognizes his good work and how humble he is.
Boody Allen
Thanks to No Country for Old Men, I get creeped out every time this guy laughs.
he won an oscar in "No Country for Old men".... he's not that unknown... even though he's not american...
I hope he didn't say anything important because I don't think I can see him and pay attention to his words instead of him.
Bro why ypu have to stretch the the thumbnail like that :skull:
te amooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!
Очень люблю Хавьера. Жду премьеры Вики Кристина Барселона. Целую!
Who is dis Boodee Allen?
that guy is a chameleon. Incredible.
so great men.
