I love at 0:22 seconds you see Tom Cruise unguarded for that second. In his eyes, he is vulnerable and he doesn't want to be bothered with the interview. Just like all of us might suffer dread. Then, within two seconds he turns on his inner-light, his stock smile and it's back to business. Wonderful.

I don't find him insane; I simply find him intense. And talented. I will always appreciate the life he puts into his characters..
There are four basic behavioral groups: controllers, supporters, analysts and promoters. He is a classic promoter personality like myself and we are oft misunderstood. ;D He naturally promotes things and we laugh a lot and are extra enthusiastic about the littlest things!!!! I understand him in this regard.!!
Yeah I think he gets a lot of unfair criticism. As you say he's intense not insane. I've always admired him.
Mark Kennedy I’m glad to hear it. I don’t get all the vitriol.. 🤷🏻♀️ He is hard-working but you never hear his costars saying he was anything but courteous. Granted he got upset about the filming in England but he had a lot of weight on his shoulders there, for all their jobs. The rules are quite stringent from what my British friends have told me.
I need to put this out into the world I have chosen your two year old comment 😂: I've only recently seen Tom Cruise in interviews properly recently but when I heard him say that when he was 4 years old he would climb out of his bedroom window and sit on the roof and I suddenly realised that he very likely has ADHD.
He's such a handsome man! Great beautiful smile and laugh.

Love him or hate him, he is the Heavy-weight champion of the movie industry. Interesting fact: the scene in magnolia in the hospital death bed of his father who he hates happened to him in real life the exact same way, he hated his dad and refused to speak to him his whole life but went and spoke to him on his death bed, his best performance as an actor because it was real life to him. cool fact

(who does this especially a famous powerful person like him? saluting another man as his better, his superior, unless your in the military and you HAVE to do this, what kind of man especially someone who is worldwide famous and powerful would do this no matter who the other man/person was and not see how embarassing and yes emasculating it is?!) the fact that he has made the leader of a cult his best friend is all that needs to be said.. (who makes the leader of a "religion/faith/church" their best friend? what "religous" leader would even have a best friend or allow that in the first place??!!) obviously its totally inappropriate, unethical, etcetera and neither of these 2 see that?

@@mbblover you´re very worried about tom cruise´s life, nobody is perfect, there´s bad and there´s good people in the world. What really matters is his great acting skills and movies. I don´t care if he´s a scientologist or a demonologist, he does what he wants to his life.
He’s a much greater actor than he gets credit for. People are busy hating him for his religious beliefs. I don’t care for it but last I checked, we still had religious freedom. !! ?? !!!
Tom is amazing! I love this lighting and black and white on him. The angle of the camera looks like he's talking directly to you. His smile just lights up a room and everything about him, his voice, smile, face, and aura just seems warm and inviting. I don't care about what anybody says negative about him. He's an amazing, magnificent being. The info he gives is also so inspiring. Love it!

I don't think people realize how great Tom Cruise is as a human being as well as an actor.

I swear i'm not a big Tom Cruise fan, but i like many of his films.
why is it when actors are happy with themselves and their lives, people and fans seem to bash out on them. like who cares about how different he is from back then. he's part of a 'religion' that he feels happy in, and he has a wife that makes him happy and a daughter. i doubt he even cares that he's less popular as an actor from back then.

I really don't care about his religious beliefs, all I know is that Jerry Maguire is one of my favorite films of all time, I think he was amazing in it. And he was also great in Magnolia. He's an amazing actor. I don't care what he believes in. He is an artist.

Why does everybody always hate on Tom Cruise? Just because he's a scientologist? Who cares what your beliefs are. Scientology is no more ridiculous than Jesus being sent down to pay for the world's sins or Earth being 2000 years old. He's a cool guy and a bloody fantastic actor.

He's not one of my favorite actors at all. But he is a movie star, I'll give him that. His agent must be a very wanted person! In this interview he really does look sort of sad around the eyes, despite the extremely white smile. Again, not my favorite actor, but am loving this interview style! Kudos NYTimes!
