Probably pretty good. A truck used for hauling long distances cross country can easily do ~2 million miles before youd even consider a inframe rebuild. As long as you take care of the paint & keep it nice & clean it probably looks damn near the same. Also to lower it how they did you actually gotta install pretty much all brand new suspension & they have to be maintained to legally be allowed to stay on the road. Plus Peterbilt's ain't no Volvo/Mack p.o.s. trucks & are made to last a lifetime. Essentially just 2 thick ass steel frame rails, axles, air brakes, wheels, motor, tranny, drive line w/ a cab bolted on top. Don't get much simpler than that 👌👌👌

I know what it's like to have someone hyper focus on one detail of your life. I learned to solve a Rubik's cube some years ago and my step mother learned of this skill. Ever since I've gotten something cube related every year for Christmas and birthdays. T-shirts, posters, even a custom made cube Yeti cup when those were big. I don't think I've touched a cube in 15 years, but I know I'll get something cubing related from her in the mail around August.

The vehicles for Pimp My Ride were mainly from the 70's to mid 90's (in 2004). They were neglected and rough, sure, but the producers would make them worse prior to filming. Toss some crap on the floor, scuff/sand some paint, rip off a bumper, etc... Basically the opposite of "freshen up", so that when the reveal comes at the end it looks that much better just by comparison to how it was "originally".

It’s for storing needed equipment but more importantly, it’s to make sure that if you brake suddenly the load of pipe you’re carrying doesn’t shoot through the cab of your truck like a load of javelins.

But there's a lot of stuff that don't get shown.

One of those shows you would see while scrolling through "Guide" and never stop to check out but always wonder "what is that?" :D you should check out Bar Rescue specifically the episode ""Yo-Ho-Ho and a Bottle of Dumb" which might be one of the most unintentionally depressing hours of TV I've ever seen in my life. It's an episode of TV that champions the idea that selling out and conforming is the answer to all your problems and you are weird if you have a dream.

We had 1 of those trucks come into work 1 time. He said he had to take things out of it because of the weight.
Turns out trick my ride was a genuine show and they really did work on the trucks. Heres a quote from Pickett regarding it: “We do mechanical work, but the majority of it we don’t film because it’s boring for the audience to watch us fixing airlines or doing that. It’s not like we build the truck top to bottom, front to back. We’d have it six months at a time and $300,000 in it to do brand-new everything.”

One of those shows you would see while scrolling through "Guide" and never stop to check out but always wonder "what is that?" :D you should check out Bar Rescue specifically the episode ""Yo-Ho-Ho and a Bottle of Dumb" which might be one of the most unintentionally depressing hours of TV I've ever seen in my life. It's an episode of TV that champions the idea that selling out and conforming is the answer to all your problems and you are weird if you have a dream.

In all fairness to this show, it was one of my favourite just because it _did_ go into all that detail about building stuff, and it got me into airbrushing for a while. Fun times.
