They just want money. The town is very probably right in that it's a large and unnecessary expenditure for a new building. Because of that guy complaining about the city council not giving him more money, I'm 100% convinced he told the cops to just ignore the suspicious people spending all day watching the police station and ignore the people breaking in.

Unless you’re in an active war zone or in your house at 3 am, it’s really hard to make people take every little noise seriously enough to go search the entire building. Our brains don’t like thinking that way, so unless there’s reinforcement to the idea that we need to check it out (like more noises or an alarm system) people tend to write it off. It’s doubly hard to get people to call for backup or to call in a suspicious noise because other people dismissing it is embarrassing. This happens at extremely secure government sites all the way down to shopping malls. Basically, humans are terrible at detecting things on their own.

My father worked in a maximum security prison, and Discovery channel was banned statewide because of a episode of MythBusters where they tried to see if you could make a blow dart out of newspaper and shoot a officer through a prison door slot... So yeah, bad idea for a episode.
Not surprised, if you asked me to list the most insecure profession in America, prison guard would be right up there for everyone. Of course prison guards would hear of a tv show challenging their ego and immediately ban the channel. That’s like the pizza place I worked at, it didn’t have drink carriers and Pizza Hut had a drink deal coming on that came with a drink carrier, so I used that carrier for my deliveries and it was the end of the world that Pizza Hut had a small logo on one side of this cardboard. Fragile egos everywhere. Nothing against prison guards like your dad tho, I’m sure he’s a great guy that works very hard and I’m sure it’s a tough job that doesn’t train or compensate fairly. there's no way that's _just_ the police officer station for that town. police officers don't keep plat blueprints in their office. those are kept either at the city assessor's or the records clerk's office. if the town is small enough, the city government building is probably multi-use, in which case, the police chief is correct that the city has to put more money into making the building secure. it's not just the cop shop. it's _everything._
They need to combine this show with Bar Rescue! Have Jon Taffer just tear in to the homeowners about how crap their security is after they’ve just been robbed. And then do all the upgrades, and have a mixologist teach the dad how to make a Trenton Iced Tea. See, it’s called a Trenton because the house is in NJ… and instead of triple sec, they substitute Coors banquet.

Please do more it takes a thief, there is one episode where hat guy cases a house by sneaking in to a house party a week before they reach out to them. And an episode where hat guy breaks a college kids prized "irish man" statue from his brother while saying how much he hated the Irish. They try and say they had switched it out but you can tell by college kids attitude they were lying.

I’ve been having trouble focusing and watching videos all the way through due to mental illness. I can watch your videos all the way through, and I’m thankful for that.
I relate to this a lot, when I am really not feeling okay but just want to watch something I can still focus on Chris. (Also AVNJ but he makes fish biology and aquarium reaction videos, so different niche) I find something about his pacing and overall chill voice makes it just easy to listen to and actually process. I tend to binge his videos and save new ones for bad days 🖤
Wishing you good spirits, mate. I empathize. Mental illness is a bizard. I hope you’re getting good help in whatever ways work best for you. It’s hard work, like a part-time job, sometimes. Any comfort is a bit of progress, I say. One “bright side” of my memory issues and all the drugs they have me on, I can rewatch stuff like it’s brand new sometimes. It’s unsettling when I find out the reason my tailbone is sore is because I fell on my ass a week ago and totally forgot, stuff like that, but my loved ones are patient and super supportive. I’m resting in bed recovering from a surgery (thymectomy with cryosphere ablation of my entire left torso, it’s wild, I’m numb but with weird nerve explosions) on top of everything else, and I often watch TH-cam almost all day. (For a few more weeks I can’t even pick up my sweet old snausage Sophie who needs lifting onto the bed; it sucks, but she and I have help. She and my other, spryer lil longdog, Gillie, are both here with me and say hi, do you have any bacon.) The right rabbit holes will uncover the most comforting, surprising stuff, on top of reliables like Chris. Sometimes I’ll come across comments I don’t remember making, not even recognizing it’s myself. Or I’ll type almost the exact same thing before noticing I already did 6 months ago. It’s trippy.

stealing blueprints is actually really smart. sure, you can see where the windows are and whatnot, but having the blueprints allows you insider knowledge as to the layout of the house, which rooms are designated for what purpose.

I relate to this a lot, when I am really not feeling okay but just want to watch something I can still focus on Chris. (Also AVNJ but he makes fish biology and aquarium reaction videos, so different niche) I find something about his pacing and overall chill voice makes it just easy to listen to and actually process. I tend to binge his videos and save new ones for bad days 🖤
Wishing you good spirits, mate. I empathize. Mental illness is a bizard. I hope you’re getting good help in whatever ways work best for you. It’s hard work, like a part-time job, sometimes. Any comfort is a bit of progress, I say.
One “bright side” of my memory issues and all the drugs they have me on, I can rewatch stuff like it’s brand new sometimes. It’s unsettling when I find out the reason my tailbone is sore is because I fell on my ass a week ago and totally forgot, stuff like that, but my loved ones are patient and super supportive.
I’m resting in bed recovering from a surgery (thymectomy with cryosphere ablation of my entire left torso, it’s wild, I’m numb but with weird nerve explosions) on top of everything else, and I often watch TH-cam almost all day. (For a few more weeks I can’t even pick up my sweet old snausage Sophie who needs lifting onto the bed; it sucks, but she and I have help. She and my other, spryer lil longdog, Gillie, are both here with me and say hi, do you have any bacon.) The right rabbit holes will uncover the most comforting, surprising stuff, on top of reliables like Chris.
Sometimes I’ll come across comments I don’t remember making, not even recognizing it’s myself. Or I’ll type almost the exact same thing before noticing I already did 6 months ago. It’s trippy.
BTW, do you have any other favorite channels you might recommend?
