The primary residence for the Ottomans for over 400 years, the Topkapi Palace is comprised of four main courtyards and at its peak, held over 4,000 people. The most popular area is Topkapi Palace Harem; the Imperial Harem that was once home to the sultan's mother, wives, concubines and crown princes.
Other top attractions in Topkapi Palace include the palace kitchens, the sultan's weaponry and the incredible royal jewels inside the palace treasury.
In the sultan's private sanctuary you'll find beautiful pavillions and the most incredible views over the Bosphorus and all of Istanbul.
Whether you're into history, architecture or just want a taste of the high life of the Ottomans, we'd highly recommend that you visit Topkapi Palace on your next trip to Istanbul.
