GUARDS of the SULTAN and HAREM | Zülüflü Baltacılar [Magnificent Century] TOPKAPI PALACE

- The ward of the "halberdiers with tresses" (Zülüflü Baltacılar Ocağı) was constructed in the 15th century in order to give way to the Ottoman army. They were also responsible for the security of the SULTAN and the HAREM.
The Harem is situated in the Topkapi Palace Museum in Istanbul. In the 15th century, it served as the main residence and administrative headquarters of the OttomanSultans. Sultans like Kanuni Sultan Suleiman and Mehmet the Conqueror lof the Magnificent Century lived here. The Topkapı Palace was transformed into a museum 1924. The sections o the Halberdiers with Tresses opened this year and I filmed it for you.

I'm surprised to see taps in hamam.. 500yrs ago there was water taps in bathroom and other water system... Strange
And they were heating the watter from the other side they had the place where they were keeping fire constantly on so watter is hot allways.

I feel Goose bumps seeing this place ..more a jail for woomen ! We can almost imagine the sufferings the murders, the pains .. apart perhaps for the luckiest ones .. beautiful however but quite gloomy.
