That "here we go" from Stan gives me shivers every time, and this is like... the 50th time i've watched the show either on my own or on reaction channels. It got me every freaking time.
This is a small thing but I ADORE how the episode does a ton of foreshadowing but disguises a lot it very well as jokes. A lot of shows can’t do it too well. Sometimes GF also can’t do it too well. But I feel like this episode does it exceptionally well with making throwaway line jokes into plot significant details.
Season 2 is gonna get wild, can’t wait to see those reactions! These and the Brooklyn 99 videos bring so much joy whenever I see them in my subscription feed

First half of the “Summer” was indeed establishing the town and the second half is about mystery. NOW if only we can get you to decipher some of the hidden messages in the title sequence :P
This was the episode besides Dreamscapers that made me and everyone else watching became a real Gravity Falls fan officially and its cliffhanger that truly was intense and done right. Its ending reminded me of the season one cliffhanger of Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated and how all of its previous episodes came to full circle. Both had heart, humor, and drama. Along with blending light and dark moments without losing its identity which is rare in a Disney show not seen since Gargoyles. Though its funny that Gravity Falls started in the same summer that SC:MI ended and that Gravity Falls was born to continue what Mystery Incorporated left behind.
Season 1 of Gravity Falls is great, but it's all really just laying the foundations for season 2, which really takes things to a whole different level.

You have no idea how hyped we were when did first happened with that reveal we had to wait for years for this to happen and then we waited until season 2 came back but it was all worth it.
When you’re done with gravity falls I think you should check out some of the other Disney shows like amphibia and Owl house they’re pretty good and the creator of Gravity Falls creator has praised them a lot.
I fully agree, the lore those two shows have is outstanding and gravity falls started a brilliant renaissance of amazing animated shows that I hope everyone watches eventually.

There were hints to Soos's ethnicity, like his Summerween costume as a luchador. I'm pretty sure "hey Soos!" gets said a number of times as well but most don't register that as a joke until the fact that his name is Jesus is revealed.
