Love that Pim finally goes green in the newest season 2 episode
I think Pym does go on Reddit, but only when he has a very specific question about a tv show and then reads every theory on the subreddit in one night and is mind blown and goes to Charlie the next day like “did you see what they’re saying in Reddit?”
Pim & Charlie - “Field Agents” helping people smile
Allan - Inventory guy? Always keeps track of stock it seems.
Glep - He’s a little guy. Maybe a janitor as he cleans up after the blibblie infestation?
The Boss - Manager/CEO
Jason - The beating heart of the free world’s soul.
Glep is HR
At 59:54, I think that mystery icon on the Devil's desktop is mean to be BYOND which is the client for Space Station 13, which Newgrounds ran a server for ages.
It could also be like, a Doom client, like GZdoom or something, but I think I make out an Atom shape which says to me BYOND.
It’s BYOND, but it’s a fucked up rip of the OG logo or maybe it’s an alternate. NG also technically still has a server a la Fulpstation but the culture ain’t with em to say the least. The idea of him having modded doom is hilarious to me though, bro casually killing demons
It's so funny that Jason's name has been locked in from the start but only revealed in the latest episode
38:01 Love how he says Chris Chan but immediately realizes he can't say it
Mr frogs built like a first gen yugioh card
He'd be a 6 star 1700 beater with _"Hello"_ as his card text.
6:00 Being told by the creators of the show to pirate the show and that buying their merch makes me a sucker is one of the most respectable things ever.
ive gone through sleepy cabin and its amazing to finally understand the sexy yellow mustard packet is a reference to their episode about the green m&m
i’m sure zach and michael honestly appreciate you working so hard on this. like honestly this was well done
I love how deep within their jokes are hints to season 2 moments, especially the dog bit.
24:29 "We didn't know he was sick at the time"
Zach, you sly dog.
6:21 Micheal's Desmond impression sounds like Squidward.
love that Zach and Michael don't even know things about their own world they created in smiling friends, like if mr. boss is actually named mr. boss
4:33 Green Pim will probably make a comeback as there's a Season 2 episode called "Pim finally goes green"
“Pim finally retires”
Zach making an offhand joke about the Boss' baby being named Jason and now thats his actual name in season 2 is what I live for
And the fact they all just bring it up so casually in the episode like we all know Jason the iconic character
Didn't except you to make a highlight edit, thank you!
This really is how people and artists talk with their characters. It was really fun to see that other people do this to write and be creative
I love a commentary that regularly gaslights you
Awesome to have more than just the audio and even better with all the edits. Thanks for this!
Zach just out of nowhere saying "That's a good ant" absolutely sent me for some reason
Imagine adult swim telling these two guys to give their thoughts on the commentary and to give the most cohesive and thought provoking comments they could on their creation only for Zach to go:
"That's a good ant" 6:12
"He died HE DIED!! Now there's Bill Clinton-" 8:55
"Having no hands is the least of her problems if she's dead. If she'd dead and buried." 12:31
"That's 'cause he questioned Bill Clinton" 23:45
"Someone's getting sued and it's not us." 52:40
"His eye come out." 56:27
Like 75% of it is them talking out of their asses its beautiful
If you showed this to someone from ten years ago and told them this was flash animation, theyde call you a liar
This feels exactly like an episode of OneyPlay's where they play some random Marvel game
Cringe

I adore that they just ask questions about the gags. The possible answers and no definitive answer makes it so funny.
I love how half of the facts they talk about I have no idea if they’re just making up on the fly seeing that Zach is the king of gaslighting 😂
Per the latest episode, his name is, in fact, Jason. And he’s 18.
smiling friends is like one of those fictional cartoons you see snippets of in a mascot horror game that tells you about the characters that they tried to bring to life and magically edits itself to hint at their tragic backstory
This is such an amazing edit. Genuinely. I wanted to rewatch the smiling friends commentary on the blu ray, but it’s kind of a slog to sit through when you’re waiting for the best bits. Thank you very much for this edit
