Hey saabunleashed im a big fan of the channel, I ended up buying this mekede m6 pro plus because of this review. The mekede headunit is a FANTASTIC unit I love it, but I ran into an issue and want to make it known to everyone. The screen it self scratches pretty easily, there is a 'gesture' you can do which is swiping with 2 fingers horizontally across the screen and it will either skip to next track or swipe back to the previous track. By doing this I left a pretty scratch on the unit, I didnt swipe all that hard but I guess I had something on my fingers that made it scratch. Very unfortunate but thats not the only problem. I had found thru some research a company called "ScreenProTech". They advertise a screen protector that is "HD clear" and hides small scratches. I get it in the mail and I installed it on the mekede. It did a great job hiding the scratches and was definitely super clear unlike others that I had tryed. The problem became announced after a few hours of usage with the screen protector on the mekede I noticed a yellow spot near the top of the protector and thought that I maybe got a finger print or some dirt was left on the protector. Didnt think much of it, so I let it be. And then some more time went by and now my entire screen is riddled with these yellow dots EVERYWHERE!! I removed the screen protector from the unit and the yellow dots were burned into the display. I tryed downloading screen burn apps that are supposed to fix it, It didnt work. I tryed just clenaing the display thinking maybe its just finger prints on the display? Nope, didnt fix it. I even tryed a factory reset and lost ALL my app. For it not do anything. Now im stuck with this headunit that is just terrible to look at and now I have to try and get in contact with both mekede and screenprotech. If I had just lived with the scratches I would have a perfectly functional unit. But now I fucked my self all because of some small scratches. Very very upset.
I've also recently bought this unit from Mekede with the 360 camera option. I've had issues with the 360 install and Mekede support has been fantastic. They sent over a software update and all working brilliantly now. Thanks for the videos as they really helped me when looking at Android units. Keep up the good work!
Hi, has anyone got experience with the 360 camera working successfully on a van? I was going to get the Teyes cc3 but this is looking the better buy. But the teyes 360 camera has been shown working well on vans etc. Does anyone have comparable experience with the Mekede?

8:51 I have a tip for this radio. I ordered this one based on the video and I really like it. I am able to install navi radio. The tip is -- when I receive the unit the touch was off and it was hard to work the unit. The touch was opposite of where you touched. USE A MOUSE TO GET TO THE SETTINGS TO ALIGN THE TOUCH.
I am looking to possibly update from my Joying unit as well. Which Joying unit did you upgrade from. I am an audio guy. I am looking to see if this unit provides more power to the optical out. The Joying units optical output is great but the output power is low.
Thanks for the video. 4/64GB are pretty much the today's standard for an instant boot without a cold boot every time when you turn the ACC on. Tried a few MIC head unit, anything below 3GB was pretty laggy and instable. Just my 2 cents.
You do realise that this drains a battery over time.. imhad my battery dead within 2 weeks and don't tell me something is wrong with the battery as it is only a year old.
I brought the M6 8gb 128gb version (oled, non 4k) about 6 weeks or so ago and very happy with it. Screen is bright, no lag and the dvr records both front and rear as well as working as a dash cam. Takes a little bit of setting up to get it how you want it and there is the occasional glitch but pleased with my purchase
I have your phone I just hook it up to a touch screen monitor I built it into my Dash it wasn't very expensive and yeah I just use your basically the Android on your on a touch screen portable monitor that's real thin and has a 500 Knits
I just received my unit today. It is very lovely and fast. I did have a problem out of the box. First it didn't come with the power harness. Next the touch was flipped and reverse (what fun that was 🥴). To HELP ANYONE WITH THIS, SIMPLY CONNECT A USB MOUSE AND CHANGE THE SETTINGS. Plus If you get the pro model it DOES NOT come with the hdmi. After all that this is a very nice unit
This Mekede M6 Pro Plus with the Q-LED 2000x1200 resolution display with 8GB RAM & 256GB ROM internal storage with the 36-band EQ DSP and 5.1 DTS surround sound is simply the best Android head unit on the market to date. I have two of these units with the 360-degree birds eye view option using the latest Sony IMX307 image sensor 1080p AHD cameras along with the front & rear HD DVR camera system. This unit uses the factory OEM wiring harness connectors making it a simple plug-in play system and it has a separate can bus box that integrates perfectly with the steering wheel & air conditioning controls. Mekede has been very helpful with great customer service, and they have software downloads available on their website to keep the unit current.
I’ve read the Teyes is more integrated with features but is more locked down and wants subscriptions to unlock features. Like tbey will only connect to their accessories like only their ODB2 dongle. So you pay more for the accessories or unlocking features. And I read that Mekede is more open. Can connect more 3rd party accessories and less trying to nickel and dime you for software licenses. Just what I read. YMMV. From what I’ve read the are all the same hardware. But they have their own software. You can apparently flash other brands (e.g. Mekede/Navifly) software onto a Teyes but not Teyes SW onto a Mekede HW
I love the fact that it has a selection of digital outputs. As you mention this is probably the purest way to get the best audio out of this head unit. Now if I could only find an amplifier that has digital inputs and analog outputs to feed the rest of the system. Everything I see is analog in and analog out. I guess we have to wait for that to come out next.
I am pretty sure Audison has options for optical in but they are very expensive amps. If i remember right you have to buy the piece to convert the amp and it's only an option on the flagship line.
Whatever the brand or no brand HU you buy, it must have a DSP chip, that makes sure you get excellent sound quality and good bass. I bought a unit with 2GB ram for about $90 (converted to USD) and it sound amazing. B9550 is my HU model with ADU1701 DSP chip.
@SaabUnleased Great Review...👍 Because of your video since I watched it in Jan 2023, I had made up my mind to get this unit as an upgrade to my 2014 Polo but Mekede were not able to supply to India due to customs department problems they must have encountered with other buyers for direct shipping. Now, I managed to get M7 Pro and have just received thru a shipping company. I am just waiting for the front camera ordered separately which wud fit in the front logo of VW and look like OEM fitment, same for the rear (I will try). I ordered 2 + 2 Hesida Triangular shaped camera (one extra set as back up). My installtion may happen in next 7-10 days time, I believe..!!! Now, if possible, please share how the settings for the DVR for both front and rear are done..!!! I have got 12 GB RAM, 256GB ROM, M7 Pro + DVR + 360⁰ Parking Camera setup + TPMS with all options. Please try to help me with your assistance related to DVR settings, since I wud be having extra cameras, please do share how to connect two rear cameras to the Head Unit. 🙏🏻😊
Thanks for all of your work in these reviews, very helpful. I noticed that many of the android units offer DAB option which only works in non-US markets but they don't offer either satelite or HD tuners that are present in the US. Have you come across any android units that offer at least HD radio? I know the brand names that are not android units i.e. kenwood alpine pioneer do offer them in the US.
Just purchased, very fast shipping and the best unit out there. For all you deciding which to buy, please don’t go with the budget ones. This is the way to go, it’s cost less than a quarter of the best Alpine is is many times better

Thanks so much for this review. It's a bit of a minefield trying to navigate the Android head unit market so I really appreciate you showing all of these different ones to us. I'm torn between a Mekede and a Teyes at the moment for my 2012 Ford Fiesta. I can get an 8gb Mekede for about $170 AUD (£95) less than the 4gb Teyes (when adding on the reverse camera) and both have the fascia kits for my car. Which would you go for having had both?
Does it have: -split screen? (Two apps running side by side) -reverse camera to turn on even if we are driving forward? -usb tethering like Joying? Meaning data for headunit comes through phone we hook up via USB? -screen brighter than the latest Joying you tested?
@@Fiat_176 dang that's nice. I wish my Joying was brighter. I have the 11.6" new Joying headunit. I had the ability to dual screen two apps at once with my backup camera but recent Joying firmware update no longer allowed the back to camera app to go into split screen. Very sad
bought the M800s 8gb ram 256g storage and 8 core and great unit but the downside is there is no provision to turn the unit off when doing servicing and as for getting help from Mekede is absolutely hopeless ....had a problem with canbus on steering wheel settings and on this unit the can settings do not work and so does changing buttons in color ..but unit seems fast sound quality is fantastic but just need to turnoff unit when doing servicing

@tomf4608 They both do one for my car which is making my decision more difficult. Leaning towards the Mekede as I can get a higher or equal spec for less money and I like the fact it's not as closed to other software or accessories. Don't think you can go wrong with either of them tbh
If you can order just the dash trim by itself for your vehicle, the CC3 can be bought as a standalone unit. And as mentioned in the video, all of the 9-10" units that have this trapezoid shape all use the same standard mounting holes. I personally have owned the CC3 for almost a year and its a great unit for my 2011 Santa Fe, and its already had two major firmware updates, one of which added a few new launchers. I also use two non-Teyes branded accessories that work fine with the unit, a USB TPMS system and a USB front camera/DVR system that works with its own app.
I received this unit 2 months ago, the product itself is fantastic however…. I ordered the DAB antenna, Rear 1080p camera and the DVR camera to which I’m still waiting for as they firstly forgot to pack the accessories, then they sent the DAB and Camera which I haven’t yet received and they still forgot to dispatch the DVR! Now I’m still waiting for the accessories. The people at the manufacture are friendly however I want the items that I’ve paid for!!
How is the sound quality out of these unit? And I means the normal output to the speakers via the wires for FR, FL, RR, RL, not the digital output to an external dsp or amplifier! I want to know how the sound is with the built-in audio chip and internal dsp like all other aftermarket stereo from the likes of Pioneer, Sony, Kenwood, etc...
Hi. In the band equalizer, you cannot independently equalize front and rear speakers separately as if they were 2 independent equalizers????? What does the "SWITCH" key do???
I remember having a nightmare experience with an Mekede unit I've used in the past. It took over 3 minutes to start up, no hot boot or anything like that. Loading Spotify took ages and sometimes the system even killed it during navigation because of the lack of memory. Eventually I just installed head unit reloaded to use android auto. Glad to see they actually have good quality units as well. Thank you for another great video!
Hey everyone, iv been looking at all these different videos and so unsure what to get as i do have 2010 VW Golf 118 TSI Comfortline. Has anyone installed ones of these on that type of car? this M6 Pro plus looks most appealing to me compared to Teyes and Xtron. Any help would be appreciated thank you
Hi Well made video. Did you know if the Mekede M6Pro Plus have a menu to adjust the reverse guidance lines. On others units the menu appears when you press the lines. It allow you to adjust the width, angle, centering etc. Thanks
I found that setting within "factory settings" then click on "car model" and you should see if u scroll down you'll see reverse tracking line or something like, theres like 2 or 3 options for the back up lines. Hope this helps.
Hello guys, I am struggling to buy this unit or the teyes cc3.. I would love to buy this unit because of better specs, lower price and more options in general. Only thing I'm scared about is the audio as everybody is saying the audio on the teyes is next level and works great with the audio you already have in your car. I have the bose surround system in my car and with the other units from eonon and others my audio really got crippled. Thanks for everybody responding.
I bought Mekede M6 Pro Plus 4/64 for Octavia 2015.. the software is fluid, there are no lags.. as for the sound, the sound is better and you have various possibilities to adjust the equalizer, and at the same time the sound is much stronger (I guess the amplifier is better) at one third of the volume too loud..so far I am very satisfied

@@YCmanager I don't know if ADAS Dvr can be used as a dash cam, I haven't used it, it doesn't matter to me.. I've had a Viofo A119V2 dash cam for 4 years and it's excellent.. what mattered to me was an android device that in itself promises a lot of options for use.. the screen is excellent (it would be even better if it were 2K 🙂) the sound is very good, I have navigation, all the functions of the car work, the same as on the steering wheel, I connected a reverse camera that was not compatible with the previous system... in general I am very satisfied!

Saab Unleashed I admire your hard work in putting these videos together. Mekebe M6 Pro Plus 8 + 128 for a Hyundai Sonata or YF 2013. The 9.5 Host Device DOESN'T have the proper LOOM and CANBUS to my car, that I can tell. I have MYFIRSTECH IDATALUNK MAESTRO THR-HK5 with the COMPUSTAR DC3 MODULE and an X1 MAX DRONE. They're supposed to talk to the onboard computer or the Obd2, which allows the steering wheel and AC controllers, and everything else in the car to unlock the doors roll down and up windows, and all kinds of other stuff. In theory, do you think this can bypass the standard loom and CANBUS? The big name brands like Kenwood Pioneer Sony use these. The big question would an image show up on this 2k head unit? Unrelated question can Dash cameras display a image on an Android screen? Or will only ADAS DVR cameras display an image on the android screen?
It's a shame they don't have 8 inch versions... I have a Jaguar XF which got 7 inch and I would like to just slightly extend it to 8 inches but there aren't many that support 360 camera and has got so many features as this one
You can look TS10 radios which have 7 inch options. 8 inch isn't really a uniform size for these players since they follow a universal size for the dashboard trims.

Can you show us how to stick the radio to the separately purchased radio frame? 2) With new releases like the M6 Pro Plus (10" & 10.36"), do you think custom vehicle frame manufacturers will come out with slightly bigger radio frames to fit these bigger releasing screens? 9/9.5" screen are 229mm while 10/10.36" screens are 250mm. Those frames already exist for a lot of cars, that's why these Chinese 9 and 10 inch displays all have the same form factor and are generally supplied with the fitting kit for your car. If you're asking how to fit them into a standard double din kits for cars, well, there's no easy way to tell you how to do that as they are all different, but generally will all need to be custom fit, similarly to how I fit this 9 inch one into the Saab 9-3
@@NK-yv5oi if you can get the frame from another manufacturer, it's not going to need glue. The radio sizes are industry standard and the screw holes will all line up
Also, the larger screen sizes do not affect the size of the physical unit. Just the bezel surrounding the screen is smaller, and you can see this as they no longer have the capacitive touch buttons to the left of the screen because there isn't room. My point is, they will still fit the car mount kits, you just need to make sure you choose either the 9 or 10 inch standard
@@SaabUnleashed That's great if that's true. Im not sure who supplies the exact screws to make that happen though. It's weird that all these custom trim/frame manufacturer's have created 9-9.5" sizes but Mekede is coming out with 10-10.36" sizes that do not fit on more than 70% of custom frames as they were all older designs made for 9-9.5" in mind.
@@SaabUnleashed They are not physically the same. The Mekede 10" and 10.36" screens are 250mm long physically. The 9-9.5" are the standard 229mm long physically.
Great videos! I have the same brand of unit for my peugeot (M400s) and as much as I'm technically minded i can't work out some of the settings. For example, i can't seem to find a setting to change the door open to RHD cars, you wouldn't have a video going through the settings giving a run through of what it is and does?

Well just ordered the Kroak, but had to buy the separate mic, the Iso loom and a DAB+ adapter in addition. In all, in price, this is closed than you might think.... this is a good unit for the money!
Any Samsung or a few other phones have the capability to do HDMI out so that's what you need it for that would be great and then the Apple phone. I believe some Motorola's do HDMI out and then there's a few Lenovo Tablets to do HDMI out you know HDMI out and USB type c video

Hi, enjoy the reviews! Proper helpful. Question? I've looked up and down the website but I've looking for a way to fit the unit into a Scirocco? I couldnt find a fascia for the unit anywhere. Maybe, I'm blind or it's just not compatible with my car? There's options for VW on the website but I cant seem to see one for a Scirocco, which is a shame. Otherwise, I'm going to have to go with xtrons.
Hi afternoon, I am really enjoying your reviews. I am currently updating the sound system in an old fiat panda 2006. So have changed door speakers to In phase 17cm units and just adding an In phase small sub which I got working last night sounds amazing, still all on old head unit. I was thinking of the Atoto A6PF but I don't think it does Dab. I saw from 1 of your reviews 2gig min on ram. Can you recommend any head units in the £200-£300 price range or is that too cheap. Have you tried the Bluetooth phone connectivity while the head unit is tethered to the phone and running Wyze or any other relatively high bandwidth application?my experience with Chinese head units is that they do not implement Bluetooth coexistence with WiFi and that results in excessive noise 9n the Bluetooth signal while wifi is running.

So how does this install in an older car double din slot? Most of the joying, atoto, c3 etc seem to come with a cage or at least the brackets to install them properly. How would this one work?
Do they make one with a USB port? I'm looking to attach a multi-terabyte HD. I know the Joying has two ports (one OTG) but they say it only supports 500GB. I'm wondering why? Most android devices can access very large USB drives via usb/OTG.

I'm coming from a Kenwood/Android Auto setup where I'm using an iDatalink Maestro to be able to trigger the voice assistant from the steering wheel/canbus. From what I've seen, it seems like a weak area on these head units (some seem to have their own proprietary voice assistants) , but maybe I'm missing something just like the USB ports.

@@SaabUnleashed That's good then, previously the PX5 and 7862 radios i have will not connect to GPS or bluetooth canbus devices etc. GPS is for track work where a higher data rate is needed :)

Hi, has anyone got experience with the 360 camera working successfully on a van? I was going to get the Teyes cc3 but this is looking the better buy. But the teyes 360 camera has been shown working well on vans etc. Does anyone have comparable experience with the Mekede?

8:51 I have a tip for this radio. I ordered this one based on the video and I really like it. I am able to install navi radio. The tip is -- when I receive the unit the touch was off and it was hard to work the unit. The touch was opposite of where you touched. USE A MOUSE TO GET TO THE SETTINGS TO ALIGN THE TOUCH.

I just purchased this same model. I have a Joying brand and after comparing specs, features and price this one wins hands down for sure.
I am looking to possibly update from my Joying unit as well. Which Joying unit did you upgrade from. I am an audio guy. I am looking to see if this unit provides more power to the optical out. The Joying units optical output is great but the output power is low.

Thanks for the video. 4/64GB are pretty much the today's standard for an instant boot without a cold boot every time when you turn the ACC on. Tried a few MIC head unit, anything below 3GB was pretty laggy and instable. Just my 2 cents.
You do realise that this drains a battery over time.. imhad my battery dead within 2 weeks and don't tell me something is wrong with the battery as it is only a year old.

I brought the M6 8gb 128gb version (oled, non 4k) about 6 weeks or so ago and very happy with it. Screen is bright, no lag and the dvr records both front and rear as well as working as a dash cam. Takes a little bit of setting up to get it how you want it and there is the occasional glitch but pleased with my purchase
Do your steering wheel controls work? Did you need to buy a separate canbus?

I just received my unit today. It is very lovely and fast. I did have a problem out of the box. First it didn't come with the power harness. Next the touch was flipped and reverse (what fun that was 🥴). To HELP ANYONE WITH THIS, SIMPLY CONNECT A USB MOUSE AND CHANGE THE SETTINGS. Plus If you get the pro model it DOES NOT come with the hdmi. After all that this is a very nice unit
I have to make a correction. About to throw away the bag and found the wire harness. 5 star unit for me.

I’ve read the Teyes is more integrated with features but is more locked down and wants subscriptions to unlock features. Like tbey will only connect to their accessories like only their ODB2 dongle. So you pay more for the accessories or unlocking features.
And I read that Mekede is more open. Can connect more 3rd party accessories and less trying to nickel and dime you for software licenses.
Just what I read. YMMV.
From what I’ve read the are all the same hardware. But they have their own software. You can apparently flash other brands (e.g. Mekede/Navifly) software onto a Teyes but not Teyes SW onto a Mekede HW
I love the fact that it has a selection of digital outputs. As you mention this is probably the purest way to get the best audio out of this head unit. Now if I could only find an amplifier that has digital inputs and analog outputs to feed the rest of the system. Everything I see is analog in and analog out. I guess we have to wait for that to come out next.
Get a DSP that accepts coax and/or digital in.
I am pretty sure Audison has options for optical in but they are very expensive amps. If i remember right you have to buy the piece to convert the amp and it's only an option on the flagship line.
I run a 8 channel amplifier with built in dsp. It accepts fiber optic and sounds incredible!

Whatever the brand or no brand HU you buy, it must have a DSP chip, that makes sure you get excellent sound quality and good bass. I bought a unit with 2GB ram for about $90 (converted to USD) and it sound amazing. B9550 is my HU model with ADU1701 DSP chip.
Just having a DSP doesn't make a head unit sound great, but it does help with adapting the audio to your liking

Because of your video since I watched it in Jan 2023, I had made up my mind to get this unit as an upgrade to my 2014 Polo but Mekede were not able to supply to India due to customs department problems they must have encountered with other buyers for direct shipping.
Now, I managed to get M7 Pro and have just received thru a shipping company.
I am just waiting for the front camera ordered separately which wud fit in the front logo of VW and look like OEM fitment, same for the rear (I will try). I ordered 2 + 2 Hesida Triangular shaped camera (one extra set as back up). My installtion may happen in next 7-10 days time, I believe..!!!
Now, if possible, please share how the settings for the DVR for both front and rear are done..!!!
I have got 12 GB RAM, 256GB ROM, M7 Pro + DVR + 360⁰ Parking Camera setup + TPMS with all options.

Thanks for all of your work in these reviews, very helpful. I noticed that many of the android units offer DAB option which only works in non-US markets but they don't offer either satelite or HD tuners that are present in the US. Have you come across any android units that offer at least HD radio? I know the brand names that are not android units i.e. kenwood alpine pioneer do offer them in the US.

Thanks so much for this review. It's a bit of a minefield trying to navigate the Android head unit market so I really appreciate you showing all of these different ones to us. I'm torn between a Mekede and a Teyes at the moment for my 2012 Ford Fiesta. I can get an 8gb Mekede for about $170 AUD (£95) less than the 4gb Teyes (when adding on the reverse camera) and both have the fascia kits for my car. Which would you go for having had both?

@@Fiat_176 dang that's nice. I wish my Joying was brighter. I have the 11.6" new Joying headunit. I had the ability to dual screen two apps at once with my backup camera but recent Joying firmware update no longer allowed the back to camera app to go into split screen. Very sad
bought the M800s 8gb ram 256g storage and 8 core and great unit but the downside is there is no provision to turn the unit off when doing servicing and as for getting help from Mekede is absolutely hopeless ....had a problem with canbus on steering wheel settings and on this unit the can settings do not work and so does changing buttons in color ..but unit seems fast sound quality is fantastic but just need to turnoff unit when doing servicing
for anyone looking at these still, you now have to choose between 360 camera OR hdmi.

@tomf4608 They both do one for my car which is making my decision more difficult. Leaning towards the Mekede as I can get a higher or equal spec for less money and I like the fact it's not as closed to other software or accessories. Don't think you can go wrong with either of them tbh
If you can order just the dash trim by itself for your vehicle, the CC3 can be bought as a standalone unit. And as mentioned in the video, all of the 9-10" units that have this trapezoid shape all use the same standard mounting holes. I personally have owned the CC3 for almost a year and its a great unit for my 2011 Santa Fe, and its already had two major firmware updates, one of which added a few new launchers. I also use two non-Teyes branded accessories that work fine with the unit, a USB TPMS system and a USB front camera/DVR system that works with its own app.

I received this unit 2 months ago, the product itself is fantastic however….
I ordered the DAB antenna, Rear 1080p camera and the DVR camera to which I’m still waiting for as they firstly forgot to pack the accessories, then they sent the DAB and Camera which I haven’t yet received and they still forgot to dispatch the DVR!
Now I’m still waiting for the accessories.
The people at the manufacture are friendly however I want the items that I’ve paid for!!
How is the sound quality out of these unit? And I means the normal output to the speakers via the wires for FR, FL, RR, RL, not the digital output to an external dsp or amplifier! Hi. In the band equalizer, you cannot independently equalize front and rear speakers separately as if they were 2 independent equalizers????? What does the "SWITCH" key do???
How do you mount this in the vehicle since it's not din or double din? Is there some kind of bracket that one would need?
I remember having a nightmare experience with an Mekede unit I've used in the past. It took over 3 minutes to start up, no hot boot or anything like that.
Loading Spotify took ages and sometimes the system even killed it during navigation because of the lack of memory.
Eventually I just installed head unit reloaded to use android auto.

Did you know if the Mekede M6Pro Plus have a menu to adjust the reverse guidance lines. On others units the menu appears when you press the lines. It allow you to adjust the width, angle, centering etc.

I found that setting within "factory settings" then click on "car model" and you should see if u scroll down you'll see reverse tracking line or something like, theres like 2 or 3 options for the back up lines. Hope this helps.

Hello guys, I am struggling to buy this unit or the teyes cc3.. I would love to buy this unit because of better specs, lower price and more options in general. Only thing I'm scared about is the audio as everybody is saying the audio on the teyes is next level and works great with the audio you already have in your car. I have the bose surround system in my car and with the other units from eonon and others my audio really got crippled. Thanks for everybody responding.
I bought Mekede M6 Pro Plus 4/64 for Octavia 2015.. the software is fluid, there are no lags.. as for the sound, the sound is better and you have various possibilities to adjust the equalizer, and at the same time the sound is much stronger (I guess the amplifier is better) at one third of the volume too loud..so far I am very satisfied

@@YCmanager I don't know if ADAS Dvr can be used as a dash cam, I haven't used it, it doesn't matter to me.. I've had a Viofo A119V2 dash cam for 4 years and it's excellent.. what mattered to me was an android device that in itself promises a lot of options for use.. the screen is excellent (it would be even better if it were 2K 🙂) the sound is very good, I have navigation, all the functions of the car work, the same as on the steering wheel, I connected a reverse camera that was not compatible with the previous system... in general I am very satisfied!

I admire your hard work in putting these videos together. Mekebe M6 Pro Plus 8 + 128 for a Hyundai Sonata or YF 2013. The 9.5 Host Device DOESN'T have the proper LOOM and CANBUS to my car, that I can tell. I have MYFIRSTECH IDATALUNK MAESTRO THR-HK5 with the COMPUSTAR DC3 MODULE and an X1 MAX DRONE. They're supposed to talk to the onboard computer or the Obd2, which allows the steering wheel and AC controllers, and everything else in the car to unlock the doors roll down and up windows, and all kinds of other stuff. In theory, do you think this can bypass the standard loom and CANBUS? The big name brands like Kenwood Pioneer Sony use these. The big question would an image show up on this 2k head unit? Unrelated question can Dash cameras display a image on an Android screen? Or will only ADAS DVR cameras display an image on the android screen?

It's a shame they don't have 8 inch versions... I have a Jaguar XF which got 7 inch and I would like to just slightly extend it to 8 inches but there aren't many that support 360 camera and has got so many features as this one
You can look TS10 radios which have 7 inch options. 8 inch isn't really a uniform size for these players since they follow a universal size for the dashboard trims.

1) Sometimes you have to buy the radio frame separately from the android radio company you desire. Can you show us how to stick the radio to the separately purchased radio frame?
2) With new releases like the M6 Pro Plus (10" & 10.36"), do you think custom vehicle frame manufacturers will come out with slightly bigger radio frames to fit these bigger releasing screens? 9/9.5" screen are 229mm while 10/10.36" screens are 250mm.

Those frames already exist for a lot of cars, that's why these Chinese 9 and 10 inch displays all have the same form factor and are generally supplied with the fitting kit for your car.
If you're asking how to fit them into a standard double din kits for cars, well, there's no easy way to tell you how to do that as they are all different, but generally will all need to be custom fit, similarly to how I fit this 9 inch one into the Saab 9-3
@@NK-yv5oi if you can get the frame from another manufacturer, it's not going to need glue. The radio sizes are industry standard and the screw holes will all line up
Also, the larger screen sizes do not affect the size of the physical unit. Just the bezel surrounding the screen is smaller, and you can see this as they no longer have the capacitive touch buttons to the left of the screen because there isn't room.
My point is, they will still fit the car mount kits, you just need to make sure you choose either the 9 or 10 inch standard
@@SaabUnleashed That's great if that's true. Im not sure who supplies the exact screws to make that happen though. It's weird that all these custom trim/frame manufacturer's have created 9-9.5" sizes but Mekede is coming out with 10-10.36" sizes that do not fit on more than 70% of custom frames as they were all older designs made for 9-9.5" in mind.
@@SaabUnleashed They are not physically the same. The Mekede 10" and 10.36" screens are 250mm long physically. The 9-9.5" are the standard 229mm long physically.

Great videos! I have the same brand of unit for my peugeot (M400s) and as much as I'm technically minded i can't work out some of the settings. For example, i can't seem to find a setting to change the door open to RHD cars, you wouldn't have a video going through the settings giving a run through of what it is and does?

I need a sunlight readable screen since I primarily drive my Audi tt convertible top down on sunny days. The screen looks glossy and I see a lot of glare/white-out on the screen in your video. Would you say this HU is appropriate for me given my circumstances?

Well just ordered the Kroak, but had to buy the separate mic, the Iso loom and a DAB+ adapter in addition.
In all, in price, this is closed than you might think.... this is a good unit for the money!
They don't have a trim for my truck if I got the universal version would it be hard to install it into my truck?
you can just get in contact with the store and they can make you a custom one
Any Samsung or a few other phones have the capability to do HDMI out so that's what you need it for that would be great and then the Apple phone. I believe some Motorola's do HDMI out and then there's a few Lenovo Tablets to do HDMI out you know HDMI out and USB type c video

Hi, enjoy the reviews! Proper helpful. Question? I've looked up and down the website but I've looking for a way to fit the unit into a Scirocco? I couldnt find a fascia for the unit anywhere. Maybe, I'm blind or it's just not compatible with my car? There's options for VW on the website but I cant seem to see one for a Scirocco, which is a shame. Otherwise, I'm going to have to go with xtrons.
You really should start testing the pre outs with a scope and some external amps

So have changed door speakers to In phase 17cm units and just adding an In phase small sub which I got working last night sounds amazing, still all on old head unit. I was thinking of the Atoto A6PF but I don't think it does Dab. I saw from 1 of your reviews 2gig min on ram. Can you recommend any head units in the £200-£300 price range or is that too cheap. Have you tried the Bluetooth phone connectivity while the head unit is tethered to the phone and running Wyze or any other relatively high bandwidth application?my experience with Chinese head units is that they do not implement Bluetooth coexistence with WiFi and that results in excessive noise 9n the Bluetooth signal while wifi is running.

So how does this install in an older car double din slot? Most of the joying, atoto, c3 etc seem to come with a cage or at least the brackets to install them properly. How would this one work?
Do they make one with a USB port? I'm looking to attach a multi-terabyte HD. I know the Joying has two ports (one OTG) but they say it only supports 500GB. I'm wondering why? Most android devices can access very large USB drives via usb/OTG.
I mean, every Android head unit has USB ports. I showed in the unboxing this has 3 USB ports :) As for the capacity limitation, I am unaware
@@SaabUnleashed Ah yes, sorry. Missed the cable part that splits into 3 USB ports. Do you have any videos that cover voice assistant control in the android head unit world? I'm coming from a Kenwood/Android Auto setup where I'm using an iDatalink Maestro to be able to trigger the voice assistant from the steering wheel/canbus. From what I've seen, it seems like a weak area on these head units (some seem to have their own proprietary voice assistants) , but maybe I'm missing something just like the USB ports.

I've updated the description. The OBD connects via Bluetooth or wifi and works with the Torque app

You can connect other devices, yes. Whty would you want external GPS though? The built in chipset is great and the antenna is external anyway
@@SaabUnleashed That's good then, previously the PX5 and 7862 radios i have will not connect to GPS or bluetooth canbus devices etc. GPS is for track work where a higher data rate is needed :)
