I would boot the laptop or pc with lets say linux mint or even some old build of ubuntu or debian - go for old version that is from the time of Vista - so search for Linux mint 13 or 12 create bootable usb - boot from the usb or maybe DVD via drive - and boot it to desktop - with the file browser grab the files you wish to recover - files pics etc and then when done - you can install a newer OS - Altenative Boot Windows 7 - do a advanced setup not upgrade then select the C Drive - hit next - and windows will copy all files to folder Old Windows - then perform setup and at the end you have working laptop PC and on CDrive the folder Old Windows can be entered and so you have all files at your service
I followed you procedure for getting to use windows vista in an Acer aspire 5720 Acer laptop, but in the last step, after leaving the administrator box empty I didn't get into windows vista but instead to the administrator login page with it's box for entering the password but with an error message that I don't remember an a red circle with an X

He says to type in the word "Administrator" for your username and to leave the password blank and 90% of the time this will work. Hopefully it does for you!

Hi there. I was just given an old Dell desktop Optiplex 760. It was from his company and no longer in use. When I start it it asks for a password for I guess one of his staff who used this computer. I had no idea so I booted with f12 and went to security. I entered a new password for the system as there wasn't one set. Now when it starts it asks for that password but when I type, nothing happens, the cursor just flashes and doesnt mive even though I am typing. Any help much appreciated! Thanks!

When I do sade mode, or safe mode with command prompt, it will start loading windows system 32 drivers.... Then stop and lag... Then after a min or two just go to the home regular home screen, no option to log in as admin. It's windows Vista home premium

@@channel48 I ended up making a registry editor disc and reset passwords that way. The solution posted here only works in a small number of cases if certain things were done during setup. The registry editor works regardless.

hmm the timing must be good or else go into bios with Del or F2 or hit escape key before system logo shows or in bios turn off something saying fast startup or so so you see Dell logo - the hitting of F8 is exactly at the moment the dell logo boots into windows - find that border - get back to me if it worked or failed

Just download ubuntu mate - or any other - boot it from usb and get into the windows partition and restore whatever you need to extrnal drive and when done reinstall windows if that is what you wanna use - so now its about saving instead of getting it to bypass

Hello my friend of course - Download ubuntu mate - create bootable - see if it boots - if not burn cd or dvd from ghe ubuntu iso - boot into desktop - connect usb stick or drive - use file browser in Ubuntu to go to the locked windows drive - look gor users / adminstrator or name of administrator account and voila your folders are all there - grab what you need backup and split and leave with the looks if a winner 😀🤚 good 🍀

you csn get to the files by downloading ubuntu 16 - create bootable usb boot into the system and browse grab your files out the user account and save them to external - after that kill the ststem and install s updated operating system
Mariya Aartistry it means you need someone to help you ... it's another operating system that will boot without having to install it and them if you are in the desktop- use the filemanager to scroll click to the internal harddisk and find your files you would love to recover - cracking windows password is another tutorial with command window - maybe to complicated to explain here -

your admin added anpassword during install then its not gonna work - installs done without a PW can do this only as explained in the video

When the computer comes back up after safe mode it's rite back to wanting my password, doesn't show administrator

I tried running win10 on it from installation usb and it kinda worked, but now I'm stuck in loop of win10 error screens, autorepair and downloading windows agin.

Hello my friend of course - Download ubuntu mate - create bootable - see if it boots - if not burn cd or dvd from ghe ubuntu iso - boot into desktop - connect usb stick or drive - use file browser in Ubuntu to go to the locked windows drive - look gor users / adminstrator or name of administrator account and voila your folders are all there - grab what you need backup and split and leave with the looks if a winner 😀🤚 good 🍀

you csn get to the files by downloading ubuntu 16 - create bootable usb boot into the system and browse grab your files out the user account and save them to external - after that kill the ststem and install s updated operating system

@@channel48 all so the ubunto 16 there is only an ubunto 16.04.6 version not just a 16 version
Mariya Aartistry it means you need someone to help you ... it's another operating system that will boot without having to install it and them if you are in the desktop- use the filemanager to scroll click to the internal harddisk and find your files you would love to recover - cracking windows password is another tutorial with command window - maybe to complicated to explain here -
