I’ve loved jazz for a decent bit of time now, and I’m disappointed when a great sum of people my age can’t appreciate it because of the idea that it’s “old.” Thank you for bringing jazz to younger audiences and still having it be enjoyable for older audiences!
Real. Jazz is my favorite genre because of how unique it is and how a lot of music actually stems from jazz. It helps that I'm from Louisiana lol. Samba is also great because of how ingrained it is to Brazilian culture, while I'm not Brazilian I've always played hand drums since I was a kid so I could learn
I live in Europe but i'm Brazilian, been listening to you guys since a while and hearing that Kass cover nearly made me cry 😢 I'm truly grateful for hearing you guys playing and hope one day you will come here to play some tunes 🙏❤️

Hi, Idk why it's a thing to never credit the VGM composers and hope it's not rude to do this: Wii Sports Title Theme - Kazumi Totaka Bob-Omb Battlefield - Koji Kondo Brinstar - Hirokazu Tanaka* Chocobo's Theme - Nobuo Uematsu Kass's Theme - Yasuaki Iwata The Metropolis of Fourside - Keiichi Suzuki Space Junk Road - Mahito Yokota Waluigi Pinball - Shinobu Tanaka K.K. Disco - Kazumi Totaka Delfino Plaza - Koji Kondo Song of Storms - Koji Kondo Gerudo Valley - Koji Kondo
Think it's just a trickle down culture thing. game companies never crediting their composers, no one knowing who they are, no one knows who to credit. i'm sure its not a result of ill will towards the creators of such beautiful songs
As a (lousy) violinist, I really appreciated the work that the obviously highly skilled violinist did on Delfino Plaza. The opening was reminiscent of Ferde Grofe's "On the Trail" from his Grand Canyon Suite. The rest of it was so gypsy it was like a Django concert. Eli Bishop was the one who got the most noise from me. I'm so glad he came! But, it was all good. Thank you for sharing this. I loved it all.
Starting 2025 off blessed with great music. So good to see the band onstage! I know nothing beats live music, but I'm always so thankful for these recordings. Can't wait to see what the band does this year!
These arrangements are so nostalgic, not only for the deep love of the gaming soundtracks, but even the awesome jazz references. I love moments like those Wayne Shorter Yes or No quotes. He does that stuff in so many of the arrangements and it gives the game tune a historic jazz basis for style. I absolutely love it. Well done! Been listening for about a year, and will do so forever. Keep it up!
I missed you all this year because I had to travel for work but I hope this is a bit of a tradition, love having you around. Such a fun even for the holiday.
Possible Album titles: Cartridge Class, Suited Up (in honor of Metroid and big band attire), Emulation in D-Pad Major/Minor, Gone Gold, Bass Slaps Only.
Fantastic from beginning to end. Thanks for letting us be a part of this concert on TH-cam. Greetings from the Czech Republic and I love The 8-Bit Big Band.
I am constantly surprised and impressed at how excellent the arrangements are. K.K. Disco could have come straight from the 70s. Song of Storms? I could find this on a Buddy Rich album. Kass' Theme? It fits perfectly with other Brazilian music. The instrumentation, rhythms, chord progressions, etc., all fit so perfectly for the style being presented. Charlie is a musical chameleon. We are so blessed to have him dedicating his time and talent to this music.
You are definitely the best VGM orchestra in the world. Wish I could see you live in Finland. We have actually a local orchestra called Game Music Collective, but sadly they haven't gotten permission to play Nintendo tunes.
Thank you so much for sharing this live session. Thank you for your communication efforts and, above all, for the music you offer us! It takes me back to my youth while also grounding me in the present and inspiring me for the future. Wishing you all the best and continued success!
Nice! I was at that show. I loved it, especially the Choro version of Kass's theme, such a cool take that would work so well with other songs like Gerudo Valley.
Thanks for the playlist. Always appreciated. I hadn't heard this band before. Great for some time like NYE. The KK Disco won me over. You have a new fan. Liked, Subbed
This was amazing and epic! Would love to see y'all live in person. Some of my favorite arrangements were Space Junk Road, Delfino Plaza, Brinstar, Kass's Theme, Song of Storms, and Gerudo Valley, but all of the songs were amazing. 😊❤️
The choro section was of course fantastic, and the gerudo valley finale was simply transcendent. I have the highest expectations for this band and yet I am consistently blown away. I wish I could have been there; next year for sure!
I've listened to all 4 of your previous albums many times over. As much as the new songs excite me, especially both versions of Kass's Theme and Waluigi Pinball, it was the new twists on the old arrangements that really made me smile. The new solos on Bob-omb Battlefield and Chocobo theme had me shook! Never stop doing what you do. You folks are the best! Congrats on yet another Grammy nomination! My first thought for an Album title, especially if there's a Pokémon title on there, is Super Effective
1:05:33 As if that Waluigi Pinball cover couldn't go any harder, you had to throw in the Snarky Puppy reference on top of all the other quotes. I love all the band moments, the solo, and I am dying to hear a version of this (even if it was this one) on streaming!
Trombone player could absolutely not start his solo on something else than a nica's dream quote it was absolutely not possible in any given circumstance. Absolutely amazing rendition of Kass's theme goddam
You guys outdid yourselves on these new arrangements! EWF quotes on Wii Sports and Brinstar? Herbie Hancock and Tower of Power on Waluigi Pinball?! Too good!
So mad I missed this as a Bostonian 😭 Anyway, just want to give a cheeky New Year reminder for the (potential) Mario Galaxy album 👀 my original comment suggesting it on your last video has nearly 1k likes. Your reply to it blew up as well. The people have spoken! 🙏🏻
For the past 10 months, I’ve been suffering from some really serious health issues. I bought tickets for me and my friends to go to this show, but I unfortunately got really ill beforehand and was unable to make it. Being able to watch it here and still feel like I’m a part of the 8 Bit family is incredibly special. Thank you for always making my day brighter
I gotta get that Brinstar intro into my life. Fantastic! As for album titles: Wii Didn't Start the Fire Massively Multiplayer (y'all got like 60 musicians, it fits, right?) Playing Out the Strings Untitled Music Game The Giant Mushroom Incident
This was such a delight! Love the new tracks and can't wait for the new album! Any chance you might upload a recording of the Seattle show from last September? I was lucky enough to see that one live and would love to relive it. I hope you'll come back to the west coast soon!
On top of Brinstar being another fantastic new arrangement, I love that short "quotation" from EWFs version of Got to get you into my life. Would love to see a concert in Germany ;-)

Album title:
Earth, Wind, and Fire Temple
hahahahaha fuck yeah
LMAOOO
That's legitimately a good title.
Yeah!! Forget the water temple!
-I know it's a reference just let me have this-
Whoa, I caught that Earth, Wind and Fire reference in the intro to Brinstar! Dope!
Brinstar doing EWF doing the Beatles haha
55:39 "Christmas Time is Here" ...
Another one right at the start! In the stone by EWF in the Wii Sports theme

All Japanese. Wow.
@@magicmax7578 That's not true. There's a very extensive and easily accessible database on VGMdb. It's certainly not ill will, but negligence.

That's the most smiles Brinstar ever got from me. What an energetic arrangement! Sweet way to start 2025.
Great band, great music, and one surprisingly charismatic bandleader!
what a wonderful newyears gift this is
Man, this version of the Chocobo Theme sounds almost like... What if a Chocobo was in Speed Racer.

As for album titles:
Wii Didn't Start the Fire
Massively Multiplayer (y'all got like 60 musicians, it fits, right?)
Playing Out the Strings
Untitled Music Game
The Giant Mushroom Incident
Amazing as usual
On album names, I think some spin on "it's dangerous to go alone, take this" would be a great name, especially with the two Kass themes.
